  1. That's not going to be practical in a lot of cases (Surface mount ICs?). I agree that testing/not testing should be stated beforehand, and if not testing, what the rules are for returns - including shipping. Then you know what your risk is up front, and can make a big grownup decision whether the saving is worth it to you. That said, big ups to the folks who did test hundreds of components in recent bulks.
  2. That is nice ... It screams Traktor/insert DJ software/ controller to me - but what would be most useful to you? Are the dark panels removable, with buttons/wheels still attached? For anyone else who stumbles in here, I'll mention that I added a couple of posts about funky salvage to the ebay thread.
  3. Quoting JoN > > i'm not even sure that the six-trac can do param changes via midi if > it is using > the onboard sequencer! And clearly we have different views on synth prOn - I've always liked the chunkiness of the 6T
  4. Yet more dirt cheap funky cases, this time in New York state US of A. Seller is Electronics Cafe. I know nothing about them, but they have a very good feedback rating. I found these under Industrial/Test Equipment and Medical/Science Equipment. He has some real cheap 1u 2u and 3u rack cases too. Can't hotlink the images on these but have a look at this this this and this for starters. ;D
  5. Meanwhile you might be interested in the ROM upgrade for the Six Trak. It enables MIDI sync to the internal sequencer :D
  6. I'm going to pass your query on to my bandmate: he's the local Sequential expert, and owner of a Six-Trak.
  7. Images as links: both items in Melbourne, Australia. Seller is reliable and will ship worldwide. Pricey, but oh so pretty ;D [img width=240 height=180]http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b131/The-Macservice-Group/TMG13/17-12-2007tmg-752s.jpg Cheap and perhaps useful: [img width=240 height=180]http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b131/The-Macservice-Group/ADI1/25-06-2007tmg-363f.jpg
  8. That really sounds awesome! I was just pondering a cut-down console style case when I read your entry. Top or front loading cartridge slot and front joystick ports, and an external keyboard connector. A tabletop would be pretty sweet too.
  9. uhhh, maybe someone's pointed this out already, but you know you need to ask TK's permission to sell MIDIboxen, right? There's even a forum for it - "Sale Requests"
  10. So presumably it's a pretty beefy, precise and stable high voltage supply. What does the piano play afterwards? - B demolished!
  11. Your second link is to the pots page, not a macro keyboard. I assume you're talking about this one: (Images are links) [img width=320 height=240]http://www.smcelectronics.com/EM10.JPG Nice cabinet: The top section is slightly C=64 ish [img width=320 height=240]http://www.smcelectronics.com/WNCABIN06.JPG Judging by the images, these two go together.
  12. The Novation Bass Stations are not analogue - they are DSP based analog emulation.
  13. Thanks bill. I've added it to the Electronics Basics sticky :)
  14. http://www.robot-electronics.co.uk/htm/using_the_i2c_bus.htm As linked by bill
  15. Thanks and good luck with your setup, but the software's no use use to me without the IIe host card.
  16. Isn't this the same guy that was selling the SIDboxes?

    FPGAboy

Portable retro gaming handheld that emulates various console systems on an FPGA. I found this on Ben Heck's console modding site - he's doing the case design. No word on pricing as of yet. But check it - a user-programmable FPGA in a case with buttons, USB slave, SD slot, a colour display, audio, and a link port :) Depending on pricing, which will probably be cheap given the intended market, this would possibly be an attractive FPGA development platform.
  18. Will you be documenting this on the wiki?
  19. You may find that, even second-hand, such knobs are not as cheap as you might like. Car parts are spensive, mkay?
  20. Even smaller without buttons ;D The MIDIO128 is probably the code/hardware model you should be looking at.
  21. Hey good call
  22. If you're talking about the guy we all linked to last year, his main problem was that he was doing all the sensing in PIC Basic ::)
  23. It is a telephone switchboard. My plans were to recycle the case with new panels, probably as a SEQ. But it's a lot flimsier than I was expecting and I'm having second thoughts about it. Yes I saw those Roland Teaching Laboratory consoles as well - didn't get around to listing them here. They'd be great for a HUI.
  24. ;D Suddenly my desire for a x0xbox has evaporated.
  25. Just arrived. From this .au seller. Said he had four more, so if you're interested, keep an eye on his auctions. Or PM me
