Sorry, I can't move posts in here because I'm not a moderator ;) But this should be a MIDIbox of the week, so, doc or TK, if you would be so kind... :D
-
Welcome aboard mate :) That's a heck of a sequencer you've built up there! FWIW We'd probably say it hasn't "seen the light of day" ... but what you said works :)

Yeh thanks man :) -
Changing the special character arrows

For those of you who don't feel comfortable with that documentation, there's a step-by step guide coming to the wiki this week as well, as part of the reworked windows toolchain setup. (out with the old, in with the new) -
Don't be polite. Blowing your nose can be bad for your health.

I read a lot about the situation for divers, because divers were the source of the best info about this mechanism :) I'm a pilot and we get the same deal in reverse, but the degrees of pressure are not so extreme. Those are some gnarly stories you got there man, scary stuff. It's so true that the eustachian is far from perfect... but you really miss it when it's not working at all! ;) audio: I went with a similar theory but a slightly different approach - I hammered it with natural stuff. Nothing complex, just eucalyptus (vapors) and citrus (vapors and food) and garlic and chillies (hot peppers) and leafy greens and wheatgrass and you name it ;) I worried a bit when it took some time to heal, so after a week I went to the doctor, but apparently that's normal and it was faring well. Normally I avoid taking drugs but in this case I made an exception and took the doc's prescription for some cortizone. I'm not paying the rent with my ears but losing my hearing was a serious issue for me. Fortunately I avoided the ruptured drum, and I'm really glad to know that yours has healed. If it's something that's still healing then you stand a pretty good chance of regaining your full hearing in that ear, from what I gathered. Fingers crossed! -
Nope, I didn't delete any! I always ask the name's permission before deleting a post (I'll make exceptions but I haven't had to yet). I merged both topics into one, which was created in the FM subforum, with the most descriptive of the two subjects :) All the posts are there :)

If you do either of those things the right way, there's no difference ;)

That's how my seq does it, I personally think it's the best way... Will be nice to see it in action in the mbseq :D Funny, I've never used an 808 so I didn't know about the A/B function that I reinvented ;) It sounds like maybe that will come to MBSEQ as well? *rubs hands*

Hah, bloody kiwi! ban him! ;D I dunno, I guess we'll find out when smash gets here... Like I said, I don't speak for smash... I'm just saying what I personally think is right :) You definitely haven't offended me :)
-
Ew! Right you are! Well, it has it's upsides... Darnit, once again I can't find a pic of Homer's Mr X website :-\
-
Yeh, that! ;D
-
You'll know if you hit that, cause the linker generates an error Definitely. If the values don't need to change.....

HAH!!!!!! *WHACK*

Merged. I wasn't sure which one you wanted deleted so I didn't delete anything ;)

Step 1) Get touchpads ;) I toyed with a screen I got once, was the touchscreen for a cassiopaeia (or however you spell it), just had two resistances for X and Y, same deal seems to be the standard for touchscreens and touchpads. I know that capacitative touchpads/screens exist, so keep that in mind when finding a candidate. Resistive should be much easier to use w/ midibox. Then you can plug it into the AINs and convert the received position to a value. Easy! (in theory, heh). Just carry your meter to the scrap laptop, and connect it up to the wires and move your finger around and see whet happens... Someone mentioned a touchpad recently that they got stuck on because the X and Y axis ran diagonally from corner to corner, but that shouldn't be a big stumbling block. Getting OT, time to split this thread?

did i miss something ? (testtone works, sid doesn't)

Could be that you have a persistent solder bridge that's causing the same data errors every time, just to mention one example. It's definitely worth checking things out. -
Awesome! The only reason I work, is to pay for my music, and to save for my dream of owning a fully self-sufficient farmland. (With enough natural power and people to make music of course!) Anytime you want a new neighbour, you just PM me! :D

I agree that's a handy feature to have... although I think that "All" should do all, and "Selected" should do selected... Edit: would help if I answer your question: Yeh it should be possible.
-
Wow I thought it would be way more ugly than that. Ahhh midibox, you always impress.

We'll forgive you cause you're new, but smash is way busier than that. Wait a while ;) Well think about it from the other person's perspective.. Now remember, I don't speak on smash's behalf, but.... If you ask, and he says yes to you, then he's going to be under pressure to say yes to everyone (because they'll say "well, you did it for latigid!"). That's a lot of free time he'd be handing out. Also, if you ask in a private email, it's a lot more appropriate - it's easier to say no if he needs to, and it brings less pressure upon smash if he says yes. No offence, but to me, such things seem to be common courtesy. I can tell that you don't mean any rudeness, but I think maybe you just didn't think it through so well ;) and maybe, you think of smash as more of a store, when in fact he is just a midiboxer like you and I, who helps us all out (a lot) with hardware. I know how it is :'( That's why it pays to get a few things from a store when you buy it... Like, if you need an LCD, maybe you'll find a place that sells it for $5... but there might be another place that sells it for 6$, that also has the switches you need. You're actually better off paying the extra 1$ for the LCD, because you'll save it by combining shipping with the switches. That's just one example of course, but there are lots of clever ways to sort out the problem of high shipping costs. I think the golden rule here for you would be patience... wait and see what smash has to say when he has a minute, and hang around the forums/chat for a while and get to know our great community, and take your time finding suppliers for your parts, and things will fall together. You're in .au yeh? I'm in Melbourne...

7-bit sysex scrambling from mios
stryd_one replied to Durisian's topic in MIDIbox Tools & MIOS Studio
Why do I get the feeling, that your function is not adding the one bit, to convert 7b to 8b - either on the first or the last byte.... Just a gut feeling... -
Well there's a problem... I would love to help out, but I've no idea what's going on. Tonight I have tried to make sense of this thread, and I quickly get lost in the mysterious unix commands and technobabble. You said earlier: And I can tell you now that it definitely is. I'd have to learn more than I want to know about unix, just to understand this thread, let alone the actual implementation of the idea. You're way too relaxed with unix and not thinking from the perspective of someone who doesn't know how to use it at all - like me... actually, most users know less about windows than I do about unix, and I can't make sense of all this, so I hate to think how they'd go. A good example was that you said: Well, it's not as simple as you imply, because first, users have to learn that such a command even exists. This is what I mean by you being too relaxed. You're not thinking from the n00b perspective. n00bs don't even know that they can type 'configure', let alone that option, let alone know what it will do when they do type it. For this approach to be really useful, someone needs to write a manual of the available commands and all of their options, and I don't mean the man pages ;) Even then, the user has to read this manual and refer to it, and it will probably be very confusing for most people and time consuming anyway. I think, not taking into account the technical pros and cons, the existing way of, 'edit a well commented text file, save, and type make', is a good way to go, simply because it's easy for anyone to understand.

You need a reward... He who first volunteers to copy it all across, jumps 10 places in the queue, or something ;)

another MB SID.. [Finished!!!] ' Greenie' updated pictures.

Welcome aboard mate :) Filter: Kickass. Definitely worth it. PSU: Get one off ebay. Batteries is probably a dream. Ghetto: Sounds just as good ;) Budget: Anyone have that link to the cardboard midibox? Carbon footprint: The problem is not the tools, it's what we do with them. Use the carbon wisely, make beautiful music and save the world from foolish humans. PS: Radio shack probably uses more energy powering up the store all day, plastics, adertising, etc etc etc, than it saves by shipping everything in one go. You're in now! Fresh meat! :D
