  1. Suggestion: as we insist that people read the whole thread before posting, and this thread is approaching 20 pages long ... maybe all relevant info should be copied to the first post for this thread?
  2. Yeh there's a few things I wouldn't mind slaving to one of these.... Would love to see a layout with some of the mods (screen, etc) and no analog drum section...mmmmmm tasty. That's one for another day ;)
  3. That's why I'm here, to move stuff around for you :)
  4. You've got some tough competition there mate! (me!) 4bit mode shouldn't be a problem, fear not.
  5. Ahh you're about to have to deal with this nightmare too... The pic doesn't capture it all, but that pile is as high as it is wide... They were neatly coiled when I put them in the box, honest! Worst thing is, there's another pile with the looms! ugh! help.JPG
  6. Heheheh FWIW, fargin is way older than that. I've read it in books from WWII. Aussies often say 'fark' or 'farkin'...because...well that's how it sounds when we say the naughty word. Bewdie bonza, mate!
  7. Awesome :) Don't be a stranger, mate!
  8. Make that 10 hits ;) Thx for the info J.
  9. How hard can it be? Two values to plot a position on a plane...
  10. How long ago was that? I live in Australia and I know that sometimes shipping so far can be hard (would be way worse if I was in say, Serbia...not mentioning any names) ... but I try not to make it someone else's problem, unless they offer first. Maybe you should do the same ;)
  11. Did you guys hear a strange sound? What's that smell?
  12. Isn't it lonely all the way down here with no friends and no cheap transformers ? :'(
  13. Most of that stuff makes little difference... maybe the casing could be of use, maybe ram is dead but individual IC's or OK, etc... you never know what half-working machine some geek has, and what parts he needs to complete it ;) But... Trash it! ;D
  14. Hahah yeh sorry... I don't like to be a rough b@st@rd but sometimes it needs doing :( And I'm good at playing the Bad Cop. Now you have the 'Cops' Theme Song in your head, don't you... Or maybe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaXjFa1ndQQ Edit: Sing along with the vid! MIDIbox mods are on the take / But what do you expect for the money we make? / Whether on the forum or in the chat / Stryd_one will hit you with a baseball bat / Bad mods bad mods / Bad mods bad mods.... Don't stress, newbies; I'm a big softy, really... Just be nice to the admins and such ;) Exactly my line of thinking ;)
  15. 486 laptop? surely that's a collector's item... maybe not the best candidate for parts-raping! Sell it on ebay to some collector and buy some parts from mouser or something man :)
  16. :o ;D a w e s o m e.
  17. The fact that it doesn't always stop in the same place has me wondering if you have a power supply issue... I'd be checking that voltage, and solder joints, and the internal voltages too... Good luck mate :)
  18. Groovy thanks guys!
  19. This will only take a minute, and it won't hurt a bit: Click this link Confirm that the email address shown is correct. Check it twice. If it is, you can move onto some more fun post ;) If it is not, change it immediately, and Click the button at the bottom. Repeat all of the above steps to confirm that it has worked. You will be banned if you don't do this. Thankyou for your time! PS: Twin-X is far more patient than I am. He posted this notice at the top of the page: Twinny spends a lot of time and effort running this forum and I'm sure that none of us want him to have his time wasted or be frustrated by that work. I haven't spoken to anyone senior around here before making this post, but I know that fear of a ban will get the attention to this issue that it and Twin-X deserve, so I made the threat to get attention. So, the ban-threat is really an empty one - but I will certainly personally encourage Twinny to ban anyone who ignores this post. He may ignore me, so bans may not happen. He may not. I may set the chatroom ninja deathsquad upon you. You've been warned ;D Edit: If you have any problems, please PM me or join the chat, and I will assist you.
  20. Take your time bro, in the meantime we will just visit www.midibox.org/forum and fix our bookmarks :D
  21. Is the 8V enough to drive the rectifier and vreg? I've found that my cores like a fraction more than that... I generally give it 8.6 to be sure that it'll work...
  22. Fast enough :) You can change the update speed so it's up to you. Only if you press them really fast! See above. A slight increase but nothing that should stop the rest of your app from fitting. Go with the matrix.
  23. Hahaha very informative ;)
  24. Sounds like me :) Only buy bargains, no car, no house, no kids, don't drink, don't party, etc, ... but the studio is nice :)
  25. Hehehe I was scared I'd mess it up again :D
