  1. When I read the datasheet, I got the impression that there are different models, some with backlights, some not... Plug one in and find out :)
  2. Great news Smash :) I hope that weight is off your shoulders, I think I speak for us all when I say that we appreciate your efforts. Glad to hear it's all panning out. Now it's time for me to get a llist together ;D
  3. Likely candidates :) I wonder if they're any good with an iron?
  4. Who?
  5. Another excellent link, thanks!
  6. Hey Sasa, You should try searching the forum ...and/or google :)
  7. Actually I haven't had a use for MF yet, sorry mate. Anyone else?
  8. I think you may have bad luck, or maybe a badly soldered board, or maybe the bootloader is not being burned properly... I don't know. As TK has said, and as the code will show, it is almost impossible for the bootloader code to be overwritten. Perhaps, instead of deciding that there is a problem with MIOS or the bootloader, you might want to take a look at other factors.
  9. Really? Where'd you see all these down-under types? I know there's me and Wilba... Flownez in WA (where are you mate?)... Anyone else? Personally, I just order my parts from overseas, or my local store... Sometimes you can spend so much time trying to find cheap parts that, when you factor in the cost of your time, the parts end up costing more...
  10. Hahaha I didn't notice that: SEQ_CORE_Clk_NextP_Synch You're too fast for us TK :)
  11. Short answer, no. Check it: http://www.lvr.com/parport.htm ... Scroll down to "programming" In a nutshell, it only works in Kernel mode. No big woop. There's even an open source driver there from http://www.logix4u.net/
  12. Wow indeed, that's awesome!
  13. I believe that syncronised pattern starts are in the works... From the code: ;; TODO: synchronized "next pattern" If you want to work on this feature, perhaps you can collaborate with, and assist TK?
  14. No rush mate, I'm patient :)
  15. The digital noise might sound more metallic or glassy, the transistor would be smoother... Depends what sound you're after... Make the board with both, and a switch to select ;) hehe
  16. Any Aussies up for a bulk order?
  17. Hey bud, I'm actually really really interested in this, as I absolutely hate sampled drums, I'm a drum synthesis nutter... I just haven't had much time to respond (you'll understand why shortly) I can do digital stuff, but analog synthesis circuitry is a myth to me. Keep up the good work, I am quietly watching, and being very impressed :)
  18. Fair enough, looks can be important... But if you look at the gallery, you'll see that how it looks, is entirely up to you. You could easily have a faceplate just like the BCR's built, and build the LEDrings for yourself, etc etc.... Why would it be much easier? well... to use an analogy: You want a Ferrari (MIDIBox with customized features), but you really like the dashboard in your old ford (BCR). So you're trying to soup up your old Ford, so it runs like a Ferrari. Much easier to buy a Ferrari, and customize the dashboard, no? :) The good thing about this, is that the Ferrari is also much cheaper!
  19. Would this be done by us, or the company making the panels?
  20. Nice :) Let me know if I can help with anything... I'm really keen to get a single line version of this working.
  21. Totally :)
  22. Seen this: http://xlargex.xl.funpic.de/ ? :)
  23. I have to ask... Why are you bothering with mashing together existing stuff? Why the BCR2000? Why not just build it out of the MBHP? Would be MUCH easier!
  24. That's exactly the idea I'm getting at :) Well, I was also thinking that the MB core module could also carry the configuration of the FPAA... So you could use the core to dynamically reconfigure from one synth to another, to an FX machine, etc... Depends on how big the dumps are, that are required to reconfigure the array... But the 4620 PICs have llike 4 meg of RAM on board, I can't imagine it would be more than that. You're right about MIDI IO and LFO's being done by the anadigm chip, that certainly wouldn't happen... I was thinking about UI buttons/encoders etc, but even then, there's not really enough pins for the job. Maybe it's just me, but this chip and the MIDIBox seem very well suited to one another. "... too many ideas and not enough time to do them all :)" Join the club! ;) I'm sure you were here when I started designing my 'uber-seq' about 2 years ago heheheh. Actually I'll be posting an update on the status of that very soon now, which just goes to show that if you are serious, you'll get it done....eventually....If you don't die of old age first ;)
