i think your project and layout look interesting its good to see someone making an unusual layout whats the point having a custom controller if you just make it the same as the commercial ones already available thats good advice to get the actual encoders switches etc and have a look at the spacing its allways a little difficult to tell from a drawing at least it is for me regards kris

i cant help you with specifics as i havent made an fm but here are some things ive found to help going away and doing something else for a while coming back to it refreshed finding another pair of eyes someone who can understand whats going on but isnt so emontionally involved with the project just to check for obvious mistakes that you cant see because youve been staring at it for the last two weeks and as stryd said be very methodical and logical in your fault finding regards and good luck kris ps i dont believe youve made a brick but the question is do yu believe you have

has anybody used other sound chips with midi-box i ve just got a couple of sound modules and i opened one up to mend the power switch saw the chips and just wonderd i intended to sell these to turn into parts for a sid/fm/sequencer but then thought maybe i can use these bits anyway regards kris

i dont think charging big money is what its about other Tk could already be doing that but reruns of old chips now that would be fun much more fun than reruns of tv old programmes id like some oberheim filters the cem chips please im shure you could sell them as there are lots of oberheim owners with blown voices anyway its beyond me regards kris

im surprised you say midi-ox is unstable ive allways found it most useful and reliable regards kris

its a really intresting appllication ill have to look into the different sensors available and think about implementation but deffinately very interesting regards kris

yea the yamaha sound cards are great as you say not so cheap i like the idea of booting straight into a daw with a midibox front end very intriquing but ive got a lot of other things to do first regards kris

yea seven hundread pounds would equipe the whole project includiing a nice control surface so i think i can put up with some rough edges regards kris

id say youd be better sticking with lithium polymer batteries from radio controlled models as these are some of the most efficient batteries for the money and also a lcd without back light regards kris

yea make it a rechargeable battery then you could make it last as long as you want more cells etc regards kris

yea at least weve got music im not living in india at the moment im from uk my last box was made when i was living in india now im back in uk at least theres lots of rubbish to turn into midi-boxers thru ebay in the uk lots of regards kris

the knobs look amazing really impressive sounds like the first midi-box wedding is on the cards then maybe ill have to buy a new hat hey sasha its a crazy messed up world im not comparing my situation to yours but i live on 30 euros a week at the moment for money for electronics i have to go collecting things from skips sell them at the local fleamarket buy things at fleamarket sell on ebay etc oh well im happy at least im not getting bombed or shot at and theres lots of bins full of stuff in europe regards kris
