  1. Hello AgentD It's not that easy as just sending bits and bytes to a LCD. You first have to translate the messages and format them to suite the LCD. Basically it's no problem to do it by hooking an LCD directly to the PC. You have to write a small application, which collects (e.g. from MIDIYoke) and filters the MIDI data and then controls the LCD. I don't think that this is existing, so you have to write your app from scratch. The much easier way would be to hook a CoreModule (with MIDIbox LC software) with the LCD(s) and some navigation buttons (activate meters, pages...) to a MIDI Thru and your display is ready. 2. ... this is what I would suggest ::), if you wouldn't be TK, who made all this possible for free with tons of hours of work. Normally (like 5 Chips or so) I would say, that the receiver has to decide what kind of delivery he wants and therefore is responsible. In this case, should it be Thorsten or anybody else, I think the social spirit of a community should come into the action. My suggestion would be, that everybody who already ordered and orders in the upcoming batch, donates €3 (... and while already donating and never have before, some bucks more ;) ). Greets, Roger PS: ... and don't forget the insurance next time, Thorsten ;D
  6. ... search in "DesignConcepts" and PartsQuestions". - There are some threads about that (incl. links). Greets, Roger
  8. ... that's your opinion. I was working for 8 years on both kind of mixers day for day and I say: Dual-Gang SUCKS! It's just good to get the mixer into a smaller frame. ...anyway, here you go: http://www.bourns.com/pdfs/PTJ90.pdf http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?qs=oUxOrjFSMuJHI9noY7CFPA%3d%3d Greets, Roger
  11. THX stryd. - Your answer gave me some imput for googling (... and I finally found some time to do so). I was surfing a bit... for your interest (I put the links to the wiki too): Original-Specifikation NXP Semiconductors V2.1 http://www.nxp.com/acrobat/literature/9398/39340011.pdf Original-Specifikation NXP Semiconductors V03 http://www.nxp.com/acrobat_download/usermanuals/UM10204_3.pdf From: http://www.esacademy.com/faq/i2c/q_and_a/i2cqena.htm From the Spec: Greets, Roger
  12. Does anybody have experience how long the I2C bus lines can be without running into trouble? In other words: Without calculating the capcity... what is the average cable lenght while still being on the safe side? Thanks and greets Roger
  13. http://www.kiss-box.com/ Greets, Roger EDIT: ... prices http://www.ssdstore.co.uk/index.php?manufacturers_id=11
  14. Super cheap giant digits at pollin.de - €1.95!!! I paid > €8/pce. for mine at reichelt. Only difference to those from Reichelt (as well as Doc's in his circuit design), they're common Kathode... so you have to change the transistors in Doc's design and program the software changes. http://www.pollin.de/shop/detail.php?pg=OA==&a=MjY0OTc4OTk=&w=OTg4OTk4&ts=0 Greets, Roger
  15. ... how did you apply the heat? Ironing or do you have one of those heat presses? Greets, Roger
  16. ... take a bull and a female dog and after a few month you have some tiny sweet bulldogs.
  17. Dear Johan Please stop to spreading rumours here before we don't know more! It's not even 2 weeks ago (yours went out August 26th - "Economy" delivery)... customs can take long sometimes. - Search the forum for other experiences. I didn't get a not yet from the other 4 guys (3 have tracking/insurance) about they received it. Greets, Roger
  18. What is cheap? It's a relative term http://www.hammondmfg.com/1457.htm Greets, Roger
  20. ... same opinion from my side! Except they write somewhere that you do the update on your own risk and that the possibility exists, that something can go wrong which makes the unit unusable. Greets, Roger
  21. The stuff is packed but the invoices are not out yet... this will happen tonight. Different than said: You will not get a PM, but directly a PP-Invoice. ... I couldn't have said it better ;D Greets, Roger
  22. For those who ordered from Switzerand: I received the boards and chips too and I think, I'll find time this Sunday to pack them and send the PayPal invoices... so stay tuned for a PM. Greets, Roger
