  1. Panel EPS attached to first post. I but I think I converted all to curves.
  2. I probably did subconsciously. ;D
  3. I really like this one! :) Thank you.
  4. It wish to act like that. I just send it short pulse :)
  5. Thank you. I hope this weekend I`l make sub-panel and maybe those buttons too. I`ll post some pix of progression.
  6. I did this long time ago but I just did quick edit and posted the results. Meanwhile beaters are attached. Need some time to continue with it. Will post some pix when back home.
  7. I agree about Roland reasons for designing this font, but I find same font pretty readable but same time bit more interesting than something like Arial I see some x0xb0xes that have top panel designed to look as much as possible as TB303 but I really wanted to do something different. My reason for using this font was only because I find it looking great. I used same font on my controller that don`t have anything in common with Roland. What font are you suggest? And what font is used on original x0xb0x. It looks good too. I must admit I didn`t spend very much time on the font selection. Not sure is it just you that have that feeling about trying to look like Rolland or other people share that opinion. I very much don`t want this box looks like Roland at all! You can`t be original. This is a clone of a clone and not brand. So, lets try make it look good and not think too much of it`s originality. I explained the reason but beside that i find it practical even I like clear panel. I was thinking of making the labels upside down for my controller. The reason is that you almost never see the lables right as you never actually plug it from behind. You always lift it, or band the head or something. Just lok at the guys when connecting the plugs into their gear... So, I would personally make labels at back panel always upside down. Me too, but I don`t usually have enough money to make my dreams and compromises are always necessary. I can send you the raw panel so you can do it your way if you want. because it is double function and staying in line would make it look bad. no, kayboard is keyboard! ;) Agree. I really don`t know how to do it right.Maybe it is better to left it out. none of the lines are final, I`ll adjusting it and recheck all before in final stage. This design isn`t very finished so please keep that in mind. I really like them to be bigger than rest of lables. I didn`t print out this design for real world comparison but compared to rest of design it looks good to me. Bolding is not an option here and they are already inverted, or you maybe thinking about step noumbers? They can be bit smaller I guess, but I wanted keep it on 2 size of fonts. I`ll play with it more. not sure I understand what does it means. :-[ thanks the font s free and widely available. I`ll publish the naked panel so you can all do your work post it here. I would really like to see yours. Thanks for the suggestions. It is not possible. Only way is to have pattern sync out on 12 and computer control at 6 o`clock. I separate the sections on my original design and each section have it`s name. As there are no sections now, mode should really be excluded. Thank you for suggestions Mike
  8. That is maybe only thing that don`t concerns me. 1mm steel back panel is very strong especially if it is hold on all 4 sides. One thing that we need to do is make some improvisation with the 0.5mm difference in thickness as you said back panel should be 1.5mm thick. Good to hear that. I have left some of the material so I might cut it and see how will it fits. kokiPsiho has PT10 case so he might do me a favor and let me try this panel. Doing the panel out of some of these material would make everything much easier and speed things up very much. The material is Rowmark brand and it comes in very good pallet. But criticizing design in this stage should be always welcome! It can open your eyes. Alot of gear have those lables on that place. I would personally really like to avoid it but it will increase the cost of panels. That is the only reason. If we be using some engravable plastics we can do it at the back panel. Everybody opinion matters if there are arguments. That is why I put thread so we can all discuss about design. Thank you for criticism.
  9. Mike, those bags looks nice. :) Thank you very much for all hard work.
  10. Wilba, you got me thinking... You said acrylic panel is 1.5mm. That is pretty thin. I didn`t figured out what is holding all construction together. Front panel that is attached to the top part of PT10 case or something else. I`m asking because if the panel is just the cover and holds only itself I can make panels out of special engraving plastic material that is based on acrylic. It is coming in 1.6 and I think 2mm thickness. The selection of colours and textures is great, and making panel out f it could be inexpensive, pretty and it can be very custom. I can offer any combination of colours and textures as long as there are enough people interested to fill the one sheet 500x600mm if I remember corectly. This is one of those materials.
  11. This reminds me of one local joke about cop and cheese pie. ;D ;D ;D Exactly. Anybody want raw panel? Wilba, I used the original x0xb0x as a starting point so I have good measurments, I`m just concerned are the eadgess too sharp and can make button to not move smoothly. Laser on steel don`t have smoothest cutting line even it is precise. I am considering buying some large quantities of these button caps for other projects, I really like the feel of them... but the Digikey part referenced by the x0xb0x BOM looks different in the picture, it's flat on top instead of curved and bevelled. Does anyone know if the Digikey cap is exactly the same as the ones used in official x0xb0x kits? True, but If you check the datasheet on Digikey page you`ll see that is the right one. ;) What is the thickness of acrylic panel?
  12. I understand you, I wanted to do much more when I decided to organize x0x but things have changed. I kinda lost the energy as this all took too long, and still see got no personal satisfaction. I started to work on the 808 because of that, even it was scheduled much after x0xb0x just to see some reall progress. I`m thinking... If I make one exception about colour it will start the avalanche and everybody could wished to to it in nonstandard version. I`m organizing building and getting parts for x0x locally too, and keeping things under control is not an easy task. I still don`t see some satisfaction for myself even the results are there. All this could be pretty stressful, and I`m not very stress proof, and I have pretty high expectations from myself. I`m having heart problems for quite some time because of the stress. It is hard to be fair and justify all the peoples expectations, and some people can be hard to deal with so I think I wan`t make special panel orders for now. I`m planing some custom buttons and cases on order after this batch is over, but doing it now as I wanted will make my life harder. I hope you can understand.
  13. And, here is the quick phoshoped mockup.
  14. Hi Tobias, as you said you are not up to date I must inform you TheProf is organizing Mouser and Digikey orders beside that rare parts that are already on it`s way. So, if you missed it please contact him ASAP. ;)
  15. Here is the layout. All suggestion and comments are welcome.
  16. Yes, that make sense.
  17. That is great! And, what should I do now with all those IIC modules I build and put in "waiting box" :) Wilba, I think steeling is good Idea. What do you say ultra? ;D Now seriously, if there are all DIN DOUT are on PCB, it could be perfect for any medium or big system, not just SEQ or router. You just populate what you need. I know this idea is not what you ultra have in mind but I always thought one well designed "all in one" PCB would be great. And I know alot of people agree with it. Connecting the wires is not difficult, but I never thought making all those interconnections is quick nor fun job and I wish to minimize it. Those SIL headers are not so perfect as you need to make crimp connectors. If DIL headers were used as SmashTV did on some of his designs it will allow fast interconnection using those non-crimping connectors for flat cable. So I would like to see some better IO modules or all in one solution.
  18. I just saw we need 2 of 50K lin, and 3x50K log. Do you have some extra logs? If I order these from you, I will still be missing other parts from digikey that Prof is organizing so this might not be very economical move.
  19. I don`t think we should run red design. Red really don`t fits everybody. I think black is more universal and fits all tastes. Also, if we make panel red, we will need 2 colour screening (will increase the price) to get those black keys, or change the design to something more like original x0xb0x - no piano keyboard. I`m bit concerned about openings for buttons as it is kind of rough. So I wonder is anybody have one button cap to send me so I can test it? Filing all those panels wouldn`t bee fun and it would take much time and effort.
  20. I just opened new thread only for panel: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,11102.msg86481.html#msg86481
  21. I received panels today. Because I wait for so long they came free of charge and I only payed for shipping. :) The guy forget to wright how much it actually cost. I`ll call them tomorrow and ask. As you might see panel fits this time. I forgot to adjust openings for 2 buttons last time. One thing I noticed is that I`ll need to fix those edges manually on every panel they cut as they are pretty sharp and bit rough so LED don`t slide in. It is alot of work but it has to be done :-\ EDIT: Panel EPS attached panel.zip panel.zip
  22. Can`t wait to see some results. Good luck with it!
  23. It is easier to delete it than to draw it ;)
  24. Good to know you sort it out. I obviously need to do some reading as I never configured anything when programming mine. I even not sure where to configure it. :P I was expecting it is straightforward procedure as with PICs so I treat it that way. No fuse errors reported back. ::)
  25. Yeah, finally ;D
