Is that means Albs have these knobs on stock again? As far as I know Germany has very high postage costs, and maybe would be better to do resending knobs from some other country. Have no Idea which one.

If you alreay soldered 2200uF you can leave it on, if not 1000uF is enough. It has nothing to do with SID versions. If you have that space I advise you to add it. Check if you can find some smaller size caps. Maybe you have the one rated 25V, 35V...? Sizes varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, so if you really battle with space try to find some smaller one rated 16V.

Man, you must have coolest father in MB community. Don`t you have great desire to find that TB ??? ...or you think it is better to build x0x rather than clean the dust of an old TB ::) Crazy! Rowan, that looks good. Alot of work. Good case, but because you used CAD it would be easier to draw everything from scratch and did some CNC cutting. I think you are the first one to used 40x4 LCD for LC. What modifications of code it takes? The link you provided takes me to midibox.org ???

I visited that site before, and again few days ago, but I didn`t find any top list of clones. Is that your opinion dstamand? I didn`t compared sounds of all clones ...too many of them.

Some parts are best to get in Germany and I already found the guy who is going to buy it. 2SC1583 at dalbani costs 6.28EUR and at cpcares just 0.90$ Problem with cpccares that they dont use email, only phones so somebody in US would need to order it. Even we need only 3 of those for x0x, price difference is big. Again, the price for all rare components is 30.7EUR without quantity discount, with it even lower!

You just have to stick your nose in every my idea, don`t you professor...? ;D But, I forgive you. ;) One of the few design ideas was exactly what you said, and I get an inspiration when I decided to make my x0x red... it reminds me of SH101 ant thought... why not to cut acrylic piano keys. I made some drawings and prints to check the look and seams it is not problem. Only problem is LEDs. They will spoil the design if I drill the keys to integrate the LEDs. Possible solution would be to have bottom key illumination, but right now I`m not sure how will it look. I need to do some more tests with this one and few other ideas. Here is how it looks This design is with Albs knobs as seen on Virus. ;)

They are very nice and respond quickly. Before that, we need to know a final number of needed parts. Personally, I would like to order parts for more than one x0x. There are more people in Serbia interested in making x0x. NP, I understand you, but I really dont know Eagle. I just moved the buttons in line, but some serious modifications is really out of my skills. :-\ I would really like to modify few things on both PCBs, but not to look more like real 303, rather to make it more suitable for other parts like better quality jacks instead of plastic ones with big plastic nut (pretty ugly if you ask me) something like this PJ603A with metal inner part. It would also be nice to have jacks in same level with back panel instead sticking out... not so pretty. I`m slave to the aesthetics, and every improvement in that field is welcome. Well, it want be full 8 weeks, they are out of stock for some time. Base diameter of P675 is only 10.5mm (mouser say it is 11.5, but I believe Rean`s datasheet), and beside they are soft touch that`s the main reason I`m interested in it. How much do you need of those? Maybe we can do batch order if people like them for my version of x0xb0x. I want them anyway for mine, and some other MB projects because of small dimensions.

I can offer panel for all interested and include with PCB`s. Panel can be blank, powder-coated aluminum or engraved. I am building myself custom aluminum housing, probably with thick water-cut side panels, but it depends of availability of thick aluminum. (i found inexpensive waterjet service in my neighborhood) :) About buttons... well they are not so straightforward to build as putting the caps on buttons as they consist of 3 parts+LED and they need to be glued on button. When glued LED 2 thin wires should be soldered from the LEDs pins to the PCB. I guess not much people will be interested in doing that. We will see.

Well, I really dont plan to sell full kits. It needs money to invest and I have no money for many kits. Because of lack of money I am gathering people to share the costs for those PCBs. This is not my commercial project. For full kit there is ladyada waiting list so you can give it a try. I am already on their list, so if you want I can give you my ordering code once I get it, so you can buy it. I won`t wait for it... If we want to make it cheaper we need to find good way to organize parts group buying as they are in different countries. Some effort we all must put in. I am really happy that I can buy all rare parts and have chance to build it. People are waiting for so long to buy full kit. :-\

No, I run trough x0x manual, and I didn`t find anything about it, so I guess that technique is not really necessary. ;)

Cool, we are growing. :) I personally dont like their panel too, that is only reason why I wanted to do my own. I didn`t liked 5mm LEDs used for x0x, and especially the clear super-bright LEDs that comes with the kit. Very unhealthy for your eyes. Thank you professor, I`m glad you like it. Parts from Mouser are about 10 EUR, but i didnt calculate knobs, as I dont know which one am I going to use... so prices are really not big. There is some orders from Digykey (buttons, caps, 2 absolute encoders...) nothing very expensive. If we organize well we can make our x0x for very, very nice price. ;)

Well, it is hard to have final price as I dont know how many of us are interested and for what. You are in UK, and almost all parts you can buy locally, at least all rare parts. We can organize, and somebody in US can help in organizing buy from www.cpcares.com They have 2SC1583 for just 0.90$ compared to 6.28EUR that we need to pay in www.dalbani.co.uk Crazy thing is that cpcares dont have any email to contact them. Maybe someone could skyped them to get more informations about ordering. I believe we can do it easily for that money. :) I am building excel BOM with prices and sources for all parts, and also have "project" list at Mouser. I`ll publish some prices so you can have a clue about costs.
