SHIPPED: LCD 20x4 for MB6582, red-on-black: Europe order
Sasha replied to Kartoshka's topic in Bulk Orders
I wonder about it myself, but thought it want affect on numbers for discount. I would rather go with 20x2 LCD for my SID only because of space not because of price difference. I will use the other 20x4 for MB64/E apps. -

I changed my mind again... I`ll take 3 instead of 2. That third is going to kokipsiho, he also lives in Serbia like me. And he is the guy who proved these displays looks that good without photoshop. ;) -

Kartoskha why you needs to get the money form paypal? Only to pay shipping to us, right? Anybody with normal paypal can collect the money for LCDs and pay for it, and shipped to you. Than you need to pay just for shipping to us. If we pay for your LCD, and send you rest of money to your paypal account you can use that money for online shopping. To sumarize... one collect the money and pay for LCDs (including yours) than shipped to you and you provide cheap shipping from your pocket, and we send the difference from price we payed for your display/s to the tottal you pay for shipping to your paypal account. Not sure did I explain well what I had in mind.. :-\ -

Well, I dont see the point to organize bulk order if not enough people to get a discount. I really thought more people would be in. Come on people, these displays are very nice, and goes well with any color Waldorf knobs on your MB-6582! :) So, I would rather wait if it make sense. -
Goblinz, as most of the people didnt payed yet I dont believe next Tuesday will be to late, so I add you on the list. I would like to ask kindly one more time people to pay for the PCBs so I can order production. I put alot of effort in organizing this batch and find best supplier for parts and and front panel, but now, everything is paused. Some people are waiting without good reason. I know you used to paypal, but Bank transfer or Western Union isn`t that much inconvenient and it is my only option. Thank you for understanding.

Arto, you are first in everything... paying for PCB, getting some rare parts while we others just dreaming of x0xb0x. 2SC1583 is more expensive than at cpcares, but still cheaper than with Europe distributors. Difference between 2SK30 (Y) and (O) is not important in term of quality but for each transistor is different value of few components. Dont remember exactly, but I saw it on ladyada`s instructions. How much did you payed for shipment, and which type it was?

Well, I found some manufacturer in china some time ago, but there was big minimum order. People are casting silicone, but I have no experience and dont have available any of components localy. Ordering chemicals might be difficult for me. Did you tried to cast it yourself, stryd?
-
I`m interested too, rather than Sparkfun`s PCBs, but it depends of the price of course. There is so much things happening in recent time that getting everything that is offered on the forum is bit hard for the budget, LCDs, knobs, PCBs... but I like the atmosphere. Jimp, are you working on support for superbright LED for the final PCB? I thought to order these SF buttons and mount it on regular buttons with LED just because they are made out of silicone. ;D I tried to find out some sheet of silicone to cut some MPC style pads using laser or waterjet but couldn`t find any. This could be good substitution at the end.

Oh... :P In that case he is right. ;)

I organize group buy for some rare parts by now with help of Huck and Ultra and we can organize more later. The parts are not so unavailable at all, and not so expensive. So everything is there, waiting for us. ;)
-
Yes, you can. You have an email. ;)

Well, there is not really plenty of room. It might look big, but it is actually pretty slim. 50mm at the higher and 40 at lower point. There will be 2 sub-panels like Endorphin, and each will take 3mm of that space. But, I think I might put some jacks on space under the LCDs between 2 sub-panels (also like I did for Endorphin) Sure, but as I never used MBSEQ before I`m certainly not aware of all cool additions that can be useful. I always appreciate suggestions. ;)

What do you think it is good to use footswitch for? Just for start and stop the sequencer?
-
Well, I`ve always wanted to do it, but I dont know Eagle that much. I am designing everything in Corel Draw. :-\ It is OK for designing panels and such, but it is really not for PCBs. This is project for me, but I would like to help everybody in making something similar, whether it is machining dedicated custom buttons or other construction things like subpanels or panels localy as it is cheaper than you westerns used to pay.

I resent the payment information and hope this time all of you will receive it. Payment received from: b-funk el-bee unit-sound ultra (rare parts compensation) huck (rare parts compensation) MTE (parts compensation) nebula (partially compensated for 40*2 LCDs) Waiting for payment from: Jaicen TheProf jimp reboot abcmann nebula (partially) Kostya

Oh. Thanks. We are waiting for the test result. ;)
-
I hope I`ll start building it soon, in parallel with x0xbox. I forced myself to design it 100% this time, after stryds friendly reminding. ;)
-
Great. Thanks S.M. ;) I wonder when I start finishing my FM. I have everything prepared and OPL almost completed for a long time. Sure, I`m missing those SMDs. :P

You`re welcome, Alex. I rejected so many different designs features and color combinations myself, and I have left with cleanest and most minimal (aesthetically). I`ll also try to stay minimalistic using only white/red lights on this thing, but I need to experiment with it more later. Things are much different in real world. Yellow LEDs would go well with white and red. What do you think? Different LED colors are useful, but I think I`ll probably sacrifice that for the cleaner, minimal look.

??? Something strange happened than. I send one mail to all the people (BCC) so, some received it some not. That is strange. I will definitely resend it to all of you. Glad you noticed it. Thanks mate. As for addresses, I used emails from profile of those who have it on the profile. So if some of those are not your primary emails that could be the reason.

Thanks Robert. I cannot wait to see it too, even this SEQ is last on my building list.[quote Alex, I am planing to use icecubes just for matrix, as I dont need to engrave it, and believe cannot be laser engraved. Also they are too small for other than matrix. I think it will match well with opal acrylic I`m using to make other engraved buttons. Man, I`m well known by typographic mistakes. ;D Kartoska noticed one on x0x panel also. Thanks alot. I usually wright labels fast just to have some to mess around in first rough designing phase, and I forget to check it later. But I always give it a good check before engraving.

I send the news to all of people from the order list together with the payment details. I cannot say much of you sent the money still. News are that I am getting 3 form 7 rare parts from US with help of Huck and Ultra. Thanks guys. ;) Another news is that I ordered 1mm steel Laser-cut front panel that is black powder coated, so I can check the quality and Ill report here. I plan to find inexpensive screen printing service after I got the panels. The production of panels want cost much but wi will see how much of you will be interested in panes so it it will affect the final price. Screen printing would probably be more expensive than laser laser cuting the steel panel and powder coating together. That is about it. EDIT: I just realized you asked el-bee about news :), but doesnt matter. I publish some news too. ;) About dalbany... they ended to be very good service, respond quickly and answered me what I wanted to know. Never ordered from them, but other people have good experiences.

Yes, you are right. It could be good enough for prophet64. How much was the shipping?
-
Thank you guys. Stryd, you are so right, and I learned it from previous builds. ...but it is so hard to wait everything to be designed 100%. I ve been redesigning first SEQ for a long time, and that was fun part. Making 3rd dimension in layers is not so fun for me, and I get that building rush whenever I approach the final designing stage. I know it is kinda childish, but cannot help. :-[ I`ll try Sure you copied me mate, ;D but I heard a lot of people will copy your MB-6582 design. ;D But, dont you worry, I am making 2 sets of these buttons for Echopraxia even with same font so people might think I copied him and even got buttons from him as he will have 2 sets and I only 1. And as I am running few projects in parallel, he will probably finished both before me. :P I`m flattered. 4x16 dual LED matrix is main reason why I abandoned first sequencer... but I still love it. :)
