Thanks TK, I understand everything now, and will continue as I imagined. ;) Mike, I dont think I need a optocouplers when I`m going to use ULN`s as a bridge to solenoids, do I? :-\ If I need to, please tell me some suitable fast optocouplers that can be driven by SEQ gates.
-
I might understand this wrong, bu my idea is to use gate out pulse to drive solenoids over ULN2803. I did that before with MB64 for experiment but there I can define note length in software so I could power the solenoid long enough to get good punch. :) 1ms pulse is not enough. I thought it would be really cool if I could trigger mechanical percussions I`m working on directly from SEQ gates. Is there some elegant solution for this? I dont want you to bother writing custom code just for me. If gates cannot be used to triger solenoids, I`ll concentrate on the other workaround. And, thank you for your answers Thorsten.
-
Oh, is that so. I thought gate length needs to be changed and recompiled. That is good. Just another question please. How long 100% last, roughly? Or is 100% is Glide how much 99% last. Should it be enough to drive solenoids? I think 0.5 sec pulse should be enough.
-
I know, that`s why I want to increase the gate length. You know where is the setting for it?
-
Where can I adjust percentage of gate length? I would like to drive solenoids with this pulse but I think 1us might not be enough.

SoundWell rotary encoders (like ALPS STEC16B, "Voti" encoders)
Sasha replied to Wilba's topic in Bulk Orders
Amazing! I was sure it is macro lens. :o -
That is good idea. If 1 picture = 1000 words then just 1 sec of motion picture should weight 25 000 words!!! (if frame rate is 25pps) ;D

OK man, just keep your madness going and we are all happy. ;D -
Another nice one, Thorsten. Congratulations! It would be cool to have A/V stream of your workshop desk. It would be fun to see you testing and playing with these. ;D I cant wait for final release. :)

SoundWell rotary encoders (like ALPS STEC16B, "Voti" encoders)

These are truly of better construction than Voti`s. I like how tabs are going trough slots. :) Thank you Jason for this very good deal and for all the effort you did to rder these for us. -
I feel kinda bad because of my decision to sell/trade this thing as I put alot of time in designing and most of all sanding those buttons, but I would rather see it finished by somebody else than keeping it as a dust collector. :-[ Another reason I decision to make Sequoia 2: (http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=10022.msg74380#msg74380) This is the list of parts I offer: 1. water cut 1mm steel mat black front panel 2. laser cut 3mm transparent acrylic sub-panel 3. laser cut 3mm transparent acrylic middle panel (for mounting modules and button PCBs) 4. laser cut/engraved buttons 5. illumination parts for buttons (LED holders and spacers with trimmed and glued LED) Here are some pix... This ALPS jog encoder is just for illustration and it needs to be adjusted with spacers so it is in level of panel. Please note, I do not offer the encoder. These are ALPS encoders I wanted to use with my sequencer. I am going to keep it as I need it for Sequoia v2 I didnt liked how text looks from edge to edge so i made new one which just say SCRB. That 11 number wasn`t centred I have ti make a new one. This is how the buttons looks raw. These are the rest of elements for button illumination. This is bad picture of illuminated button. It is actually orange-red, but I couldn`t adjust the camera properly so it appears yellow where the light is brightest. For more details of these buttons check this thread: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=8417.msg58748;topicseen#msg58748 The price is 70 EUR+shipping (about 10EUR) and that is less than actual cost to make it not to count days of sanding those buttons. :P As I said, I always need some parts and will accept different things like pots, knobs... you can also order some parts for me from ebay. Also, I have PCBs for buttons I designed. Nothing special as it is designed in corel, but they match holes precisely and they are better than stripboards.

Thanks malekko. We`ll come to the parts later, and all will be informed as always ;)

SHIPPED: LCD 20x4 for MB6582, red-on-black: Europe order
Sasha replied to Kartoshka's topic in Bulk Orders
Great! Thank you Vlad. ;) -
I think I started the avalanche again that nebula will surf on. :) I hope this thread will soon be renamed and moved to bulk orders. Well, I never seen that knob that is not render. Looks good too, but not as thin as P401 and it have that other colour that makes it less uniform so it is harder to match it with different designs. But if they can be bought somewhere in all the colours Re`an offer I would be buying few, for different sections. I would so love if I can buy same type of knob in different colours of pointere or caps, with or without pointer. Re`an makes them but cannot be bought anywhere. To bad. :(

Julien, I advised you to read the main xox thread. I mentioned several times huck and ultra are sending some rare parts for PCBs. Thank you huck!

Thanks Steve, at least you dug some answers. ;) I didn`t get an answer yet and I don't expect it anymore. I`ll try to send one more email. ...strange company. OK, they are big, but my company might be big too... I didn`t say I`m DIYer so I could want tenths of thousands and I expected they will react. If these knobs are of good quality as they look on that only one image and priced 25-30$/100 I would be interested in more than 100 that`s for sure, and I guess 1000 wouldn`t be enough for all of us. We`ll wait for more details. Thanks again, Steve

Julien, I started this batch in Serbia, and offered it here if somebody is interested. I stsrted to collect the money by bank transfer or Western Union, but I gave no luck and everything took too long, so Jaicen offered help by gathering the rest of money over paypal and resending it my way. About panels and buttons... it depends of you. I will organize panel batch here in Serbia. Buttons are not so straightforward to integrate like original ones so everybody can chose which one will use. Some parts will be ordered by huck today and shipped back to me so I can send it with PCB, or with PCB and panel. All other rare parts are not problem to order online but some other parts like Grayhill absolute encoder and pots must be ordered from US. (mouser, Digikey, Newark...) There is only one topic about x0x in "Miscellaneous" except this thread that is alternative, just for money collecting. Here is main thread: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=9841.0 It is not hidden deep, and it is easy to find, so I dont see the point it starts by [x0x] I wouldn't call it a chief. :) I organized start and will organize production of custom parts, and some rare parts, but because of the inconvenience of bank and WU money transfers it would be good it somebody other with full paypal account organize those pots and encoders ordering. I been offered a help from few people so I dont think it is a problem for me to coordinate everything, I just don`t want to mess with money collecting as in PCB batch anymore. We are all in this and nobody want to throw away the PCB. We have good motivation to get all the parts for this thing, It is important that everything is available. You don`t have to worry you`ll left only with PCB. ;)

Woohoo! :) -
majjam, sorry to hear that. 60 is alot! :(

Long time... I wanted to ash here what is happening with it, but I forgot who you are and the name of this thread. ;D That PCB looks really nice. I`must check that chemical tin. Never heard of that. I just solder last night these pin heathers your way which was a problem for me before as I have got no idea how to do it properly, so I was soldering it as it is, but bit angled. Your solution is good and simple.

I missed this after you edit. What are you talking about? I changed my maind daily? About what? I said ONCE, I`ll be forced to quit the batch if more people give up, and asked of people another time to confirm if they are in or out. And, what was the issue with email? I didn`t have any. Some people said my emails ended in their spam filter, but that wasn`t my issue. To me it is strange how emails can suddenly ended in filter but it doesn`t matter. After that I started contacting people over PM to be sure the received my message once they came to forum. That is what I`m talking for a long time. Look, I dont want to fight. I just dont think we should wait for more, and If we are waiting we need to know what and how long or else, this is just another ladyada endles and neverending waiting list!

You told me over ICQ you will go to bank and pay for it directly, same day, and it wasn`t yesterday! What Jaicen is doing here is trying to gather people so collective transfer cost you less but it has not much to do with what I am doing. I don`t care how will I get the money. If some can do it, and did it, I see no real explanation how is that so hard for others. After sending so meny mails I finally get some answers, and empty promisses. I talked to people directly meny times about payment and that includes you. and I get an answers from all of you, that payment will be today, or tomorrow or whanever... so If you don`t do it as you said, because of any reason or you just changed your mind, I feel you need to informed me about that, not on this thread, as I`m not organizing this, it is Jaicen. This project took so long and without a reason, just because it is not so straightworward as paypal. Well, I`m sorry, I explained I cannot accept paypal, and I did all I could. This is not true. You never informed me about anything, and I`ve been trying to reach you directly and over abcman so many times. If you was honest and straight as Goblins and ask for few more days it wouldn`t be a problem. But ignorance I just cannot tolerate. Lot of people wanting to start with this project, and if you just cannot find a way to go to the bank than just say what I asked... "I`m out" like jimp did.
-
Goblinz, I am totally out of this. It is run by Jaicen only. I already contacted jaicen and waiting for his answer. I see no point waiting for more.
-
Great! :) Please, do it. Thank you Bill.

I asked myself why Wilba didn`t do it for a same reason. It would look much better and it`s logical. I`m not into programming, but to me, it sounds just like a modification of line addressing and should be simple to do.
