  1. Yes, it looks just like those tryings, but just little bit different. I really dont know how nobody thought of this before, including myself. ::)
  2. New illuminated buttons... for more pix check the page: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=10114.0
  3. My old 3part illuminated button look very nice, but wiring the LED glued to the button cap to the PCB is not very fun. I thought of very simple solution to have nice, center full surface illumination with fixed LED, soldered on to PCB. I made few test pieces today to check the design. I am very satisfied with the result. This kind of buttons I am going to use on my version of x0xb0x. So, what do you think?
  4. Thank you TK. I`m always struggling with wires and cables. I will try to find some low drop regulator.

    Xylophone

Mike, why drive the solenoids from parallel port with pure data using transistors or better ULN2803 when you can hook it on DOUT and have all benefits of MIDI coming from any midi soft rhythm machine or better from MBSEQ. I tried mine relay on MB64 with midi feedback script added to Ableton Live, and it worked great! Only thing is the relay is not the best for this job, better something simpler like those from the video. I found exactly like those from video at Farnell as Pay_c pointed but they are pretty expensive if you need alot of it. I was thinking about making it myself. Does somebody knows some formula for calculating wire diameter and number of turns in coil for making solenoids. I was making some as a kid but without any calculations. It worked but they surely wasn`t optimal.

    Xylophone

I was interested in this for a long time. I did something similar by mounting small toothpick with beater on relay lever. That was just for testing, These beaters on video seamed just right. I wasn`t sure which one to get and where from. I also bought rusty xylophone on flea market. :)
  7. Hard to say, but point is to make it cheaper and better looking than original x0xb0x. Parts are not problem, and they are not that expensive. I`m not making this PCB just like that. ;) We can organize better, but I already expecting some rare parts.
  8. Does make sense to power this box from the batteries? I wanted to use LCD but without backlight.
  9. 10 EUR is price for packaging, local custom check and worldwide shipping, not just Europe. The set of PCBs cost 37 EUR which is 53US$. Total is 47 EUR
  10. Price didn`t changed and it 47 EUR (shipping included).
  11. Hello Arto. You dont loose any time mate. I`m really sorry you wait for your PCBs for that long, but it is really out of my power. :-\ That is always good idea, especially with rare parts. Thank you for your support. I hardly could imagine this situation could happen here at MB forum, If I knew I would surely keep myself out of it. I better be more cautious in future... I dont know what equipment you have got, but I could never make 2 side PCB of that complexity. Yes, good old recycle bin. ;)

    basic64

basic64 is inspired by the 8 bit sounds of the classic Commodore 64. It's not a straight emulation, but is based around the SID chip with some extras for that 8-bit retro game sound, lofi gritty noises or just plain oddness.
  13. Thanks. As I said... all can be done and at fair price, but really make no sense to talk about panel when we are not even at the beginning of this project. I just posted this picture for preview.
  14. Thanks Jaicen I have impression this thread becomes pretty much dead. Well, I announced final price 03.10. That was 21 days ago. Why would people that payed long time ago wait till 30.11. ? I really see no point. We are not talking about hundreds of $, so people need to save to afford it. I really don`t understand some 2face people here. ??? I don`t wanna be pushy, but I would really like to know now, who is out and who is in and when will pay, so rest of us know how many people we need to find to be on zero again. So, please people from the list below give us your final answers here. Thank you
  15. I`ve decided not to stop this batch. Some said they will send the money, so we will see will they be honest this time. :-\ Also, I am tring to gather more people until we have again same number of PCB sets. So final start of the project is still unknown and depends of: Jaicen TheProf jimp reboot abcmann/dj3nk nebula (notified me he send the money 6 days ago but still didnt received) Kostya (notified me he send the money today) robwillis It would be nice to hear some good news from you people. Thank you
  16. For information to all of you. I just received 85 USD from echopraxia (USA) and I payed instead of him 4.60USD transfer fee. I dont find that is much. So you can send few more bux and I will pay for transaction. We can sort that difference later. I never payed more that 5 EUR for transfer. As none of you are using bank transfer you should know there is a deposit you have put in your bank in case of extra charging, but that deposit is in all my cases returned back to me. So initially I have to pay 35EUR for transfer but only 5 is charged.
  17. OK dj3nk and abcmann. I didnt know you work together and it is really irrelevant to me. abcman could just give you the PCB so you can make it. Why should I contacting you when you two are together. He could just tell you. It makes no difference to me. Real problem is that some people are canceling because If some few people quit the price per piece is not the same and I cannot buy more as I am already paying for 6. Also there are some people that are not getting back to me. I forgot that I had bad experience with with one of the people before who ordered PCB now. I should start writing things down. :-\
  18. To make sure nobody miss the details this time here are the attachments. For Western Union my full address is: Sasa Djuric Stojana Aralice 22 11070 Belgrade instructions for transfer - EUR.doc instructions for transfer - USD.doc instructions for transfer - EUR.doc instructions for transfer - USD.doc
  19. OK... WTF? Why dont you say here on forum that you are out too? >:( I dont hunt people to join, I offered this PCBs and you signed in, and confirmed in the second round you are definitely in. Now you telling me to speak to dj3nk??? If he want one he would ask to join. I`m really pissed off because of this payment. Some at least found some time to tell me thay are broke at the moment and ask me to wait for them to get money, which is fair and I really appreciate. What is the matter with you people. You all know that my payment options are Bank transfer or Western Union. I am sorry I live in this shitty country so cannot withdrawal the money from Paypal! I think I`m going to cancel this project and reverse the money to the people that already payed for it. Sorry guys. I`m going to send one more time PM, and email to the all the participants and ask them to do the payment, if not this batch has failed. :'(
  20. I dont agree. I`ve seen some stunning quality powder coating, but It is hard to find somebody who is able to did fine work, as powder coating is mostly used for pretty rough protection wnen surface quality isn`t important. There are also diferent kinds and colours of powder coat. This is test panel for you guys, so buttons are regular x0x from Digikey. I wont use this panel for my box, nor buttons. Will make myself one when I get some money. I`m broke for next few months. :( In that case it must be stainless steel and those brushing what would complicate everything and increase cost. To be honest, as I don`t have "luck" to collect the money to start making PCBs and some people are canceling orders or ignoring me which force me to buy their PCBs even I dont need it, I am really not inspired very mush to put all my time and energy to find and offer more custom variations and colours of panel especially cose I dont need it for myself. But, anything could be done. I even think of making one sick deluxe version for selling, out of water-cut sandblasted glass or something similar, not sure jet. But I will go with red steel for myself. My friend have screen printing service, and I believe he could provide inexpensive screening with high durable PVC ink. I was working in screen printing industry, so I am thinking to make my own small rig soon. I already have some 2-3 fine resolution screens that I made long time ago. Thank you Jaicen. I cant wait myself. Been wanting this thing for a looong time.
  21. I just received the panel from laser cutting company that I ordered to check it. The quality of cutting is good as I expected from laser cutter. But the quality of powder coating is under my quality limit. It happened that it have some small but noticeable dots on it. Is it because of dust of whatever, I dont know, but it bugs me. Powder coating did another company and I wont use their service anymore. I`ll sand down all the coating and bring it to car painting service and check about their quality and prices. Cost of powder coating for this panel was almost as high as laser cutting. Laser cutting cost me 10 EUR which is good price for 1mm steel panel. And here is the pix.
