Hey Sebastian, your router looks very good. Not often enough wee see professional box like yours. I`m just listening your music on myspace. It`s very good. The cover for dithering the rain reminded me of box I liked very much. :) It would be nice. Better attach it to first post, so everybody can download it. Thank you in advance.

SwinSID - a pin compatible alternative to the SID chip
Sasha replied to TheFumigator's topic in MIDIbox SID
Swinkels, TK, take your time. I don`t believe we are in hurry. I`m sure we already have more projects on "do to" list than we have time to build it. Personally I don`t expect exact SID emulation at all, more something new, different. And what swinSID advantages sounds really great. Now that Wilba is selling 6582`s and those nice PCB`s everybody can build one even if no C64 around. Semo sounds really great, I wish there are few more, but please don`t make it if you don`t feel like. Better spend more time developing. :) Looking forward to see the fruits of your collaboration. ;) -
Hey bosone, nice video. ;)

Good job Durisian. ;) Well done documentation! Congratulations.

Traktorizer - a Midibox to control Traktor-DJ-Studio -
Sasha replied to MTE's topic in MIDIbox User Projects
Alot of work and still to come... Congratulations, once again mate. ;) -
I would say it is pretty durable. As I used mat black paint it didnt rub of but it becomes somehow shiny on the places where it it rubbed. I believe if you use normal shiny paint it would be OK, but I`m a sucker for mat colours, especially black. The primer was plastic primer, and it wasn`t most expensive I could find. The paint is also some normal Cosmos spray paint, nothing fancy.
-
I read on some blog that guy uses that krylon to paint some plastic case and he was satisfied with the results, but I have no experience with it. The only way to paint plastics in my country, where only black and gray paints for plastics exist (for repairing car bumpers) is to use primer for plastics that is easy to find. I spray few coats of primer and few coats of any spray paint, and result is very nice and pretty durable. The paints used are nitro, and no melting occurred because primer protects it.

If LCD looks thin it is surely EL backlighted, if it`s thicker it is LED. I dont believe you can illuminated it with SMD LEDs. I did some tests without good results. :/
-
I suppose you are going to skip backlighting of LCD?

That sounds it could be useful even those MM buttons are usually crap, but no MIDI support for transport buttons? What do they think of???
-
No, no, Wisefire, don`t be selfish. It must go both directions... If you give you`ll get ;) You gotta try harder... make a connection! ;D
-
Thank you Rowan. This guy sells only pads, and for normal price 15$

;D I just realized what I said... but, it is not so incorrect, we must be transferring some of our pleasure on the buttons we press, and I hope our beloved gear feels it. ;)
-
I would like to use those buttons only because of the soft feeling. To be more clear... they will serve just as caps to transfer pleasure to the regular membrane button belove. I don`t believe we can really make button you have in your mind. Anyway, I have no project that can use those buttons right now anyway.
-
Yes, it wasn`t working, but i would still do it if I need those buttons. For what usefull these days can be use ZX? I don`t keep my ex girlfriends for sentimental reasons, you know. :) Making a mold is not a problem, but making piece. I cannot find liquid silicone here, except silicone glue, but doubt it can do the job. well, it means ... whatsup monkey?, and it is kinda not appropriate to tell somebody who understands Serbian.

Me too. Any information about next batch?

Well, that is what I said. :) I just check the dimensions. Sparkfun pads are 15mm, and MK are 19mm. Not quite the same, but not far away. I judged sparkfun size by eye, and it looked smaller. So, you think sparkfun buttons can be usefull for making a beat? I`m not sure.... I doubt I can make velocity sensitive pads that I`m satisfied with. So If I can`t I can at least make it looks nice. I also thought making pads out of those ZX keys. They have nice soft touch feling. All I need is to take writings away from it. They look nice...?
-
Exactly! I never liked how those pads works. OK to wright a beat that is going to be manually fixed later, note by note, but not like you would do using MPC or also Korg`s Pad Kontrol. Imagine you are beating a hh and snare.. hh with constant velocity, and snare with increasing velocity. Vhenever those tvo overlaps you wil have both hh, and snare with same, hihger velocity. Not so complex to do. But, it depends of the way you make a music. Well, I see no similarity. :) Sparkfun pads are small and not intended to be velocity sensitive, even you could glue the piezo like Korg did. As I get they are designed to be used as regular illuminated triggers. Nothing more. I really like those sparkfun buttons, and they becomes cheaper, so maybe I could order some.

Didn't get in the first MB-6582 PCB bulk order? Then post here
Sasha replied to Slorrin's topic in Bulk Orders
Well Smash, I asked you few times about ordering without success, so why should be different this time? You also ignored few of my emails that I send you over the past time regard different things, so I really cannot count on you. Ignorance is the thing I really don`t appreciate. I dont mind you or Mike selling Wilba`s PCBs as long as you two are not the only sources. You took my comment in last post personally, and it wasn`t personal. Comment in this post IS personal. This is all I can say. Any further discussion really makes no sense, and I will ignore it. If you think you need to show me the door, go ahead, be a boss. I`m out of here. -

Sasha replied to Slorrin's topic in Bulk Orders
Thanks for an offer, it could be last alternative. And in that case I would need to pay 2xVAT+2x custon taxes. For that money I could get few same quality PCBs locally. OK, maybe not red one but I don`t plan to house it in transparent box anyway. ;D I`ll ask Wilba about PCB files when he get back from vacation. -

I would surely need at least one more base PCB after some time but only if Willba do the job. I`m not hoping SmashTV will have these in his shop as he dont send worldwide. Nor do Mike. But, I can make PCBs cheaper, locally, If Willba is willing to share the PCB files. :) -
Didn`t know aboout this project. ??? I need to check it deeply these days. You should (or I missed it) inform the community about this project earlier. I`m sure people here are very interested. I am. :) Those buttons are pretty much expensive in shops in my town. I`ve seen it first time in reichelt, and too bad they aren`t produced in orange colour. This way I would use any other cool switch instead.

I opened my micro kontrol first to see what encoders are in, as I found them very low quality. The encoders have no marking at all. Sounds cheap, and feels wobble. (I bought this controller brand new) But what inspired me are those big heavy cubes used as drum pads. I thought it might be good idea to try to order replacement for them and use it for midibx, or better with e-drum. :) At the other side of PCB disapointment... you can see there is only 4 piezos to cover the area of 16 pads, so they don`t feel individual velocity. I think this is kinda froad. Piezos are cheap, and they really could use separated 16 instead of just 4. ???
