  3. hi gabananda while in the LC app the leds are ALWAYS controlled by the host (except for specific functions of the LC itself: layers, pages, etc.), in the MB64 you can choose whether the leds are externally MIDI controlled or controlled by the buttons in the MB64. Simone

  9. @ AC: i need a real time sampler, something that will catch the sound fed in and work with it in real time.. BeatRepeater is ok to begin with but i am looking for something a little more sophisticated, for example i d like an offset post sampling parameter, autonomous bpm parameter, pitch shifting upward and/or midi selectable, and especially a longer sampling time than BR. tx simone
  10. hi any idea about a good proven diy project for a possibly riia phono preamp, with easy to find components, sounding ok not necessary audiophile, i need it for timecoded vinyls but i d like to feel free to play some normal vinyl as well. There are so many in the net but i can t really choose any .. and they go for so cheap on ebay as well, about 15$ each ... have you ever built one? txx simone
  11. ... many people can read but don t understand ... :P (EDIT: referring to me) still, we want to have a touch screen to be used as a controller, for x and y axes and, if possible, for z ax, fine the screen will be used with a computer with a unix system so i don t really understand why we should use a midibox or midi for this purpose, shouldn t this be more easily done in the computer itself ? this subject is pretty interesting.. keep us posted! simone
  12. ... you guys always know a lot .. so tell me: i want a real time sampler vst or au for osx, in the style of live! beat repeater but with more control parameters, it would be nice something like a resequencer any idea? simone
  13. .. you ve never been pushed by me then ! ;) well i only wanted to underline that i had to debounce so called good quality switches.. yes yes it is you Mr RJS switches i am talking about! but that was my fault to think that expensive=good just don t assume you won t have to debounce any tactile switch.. simone

    MB SAMPLER?

please remember that any usb module that has been used with MB projects was a "slave" module, while a usb mp3 player needs a "host" module modules that can be attached to a usb player like the ipod/car system will read the data from the ipod disk and play it internally, not from the ipod itself simone

  23. ZEPPELIN 2008 DEAFNESSES Once again, Orquestra del Caos, announces its new edition of Zeppelin, Sound Art Festival, calling for sound works about the multiple "deafnesses" of the contemporary world. There are many kinds of deafness. This year’s Zeppelin Sound Art Festival will focus on those that are barely noticeable, slowly and steadily undermining our hearing. We like to listen to noise and work with it, but we are aware that some noises often inoculate in us a sort of “mental deafness.†We would like to listen with our whole bodies, and to do so, we invite you to reflect on and make sound pieces that pay attention to the excess of talk, images, and sounds that constantly floods our ears disguised as “informationâ€; to that never ending and repetitive clatter that political slogans wish to imprint in our minds and behaviors; to those strange sounds produced by the concentration of power; to the way we are continiuously made to think of ourselves as “clients†and “consumers†instead of citizens... we want to pay attention to the noise that deprives us of our own sounds. We want to ask what can we ultimately really listen to? What are the mechanisms behind this great mental and social deafness we are suffering? We want to raise this questions through your works, regarding them as listening tools that counteract the kinds of deafness that inhabit our times. This is an open invitation for all those persons interested in these matters to submit their sound works. The pieces will be presented in an eight-speaker system on March 13th, 14th and 15th 2008 in Centre de Cultura Contemporà nia de Barcelona. REQUIREMENTS All the pieces will be accepted as long as they fit the following requirements: 1. All works must be ten (10) minutes long or less 2. The works must be in AIFF or WAV format at 44.1 Khz & 16bits 3. The following information should be attached: 3.1. A brief description about the piece 3.2. Artistic biography of the name 3.3. A signed document nameizing or unnameizing explicitly the desire to publish the piece on the internet 3.4. A signed document nameizing the inclusion of the piece in the sound art archive Sonoscop. 4. All works and documentation must be sent in CD/DVD before February the 15th 2008, to: caos/ZEPPELIN/convocatoria Centre de Cultura Contemporánia de Barcelona C/Montalegre, 5 Barcelona 08001 España More info: caos@sonoscop.net We appreciate any difussion
