I have two x0xb0x kits from Limor. It took less than six months each time to get through the waiting list. I signed up for a third x0x, but doubt that it will happen now that she has cancelled the kits. I can't say as I blame her, I think there are already 800 x0xb0x kits out there. (One of mine is #773...) How many of you are considering the x0xb0xmod? http://www.myspace.com/x0xb0xmod If so, you'll want to use the LadyADA pcb set. It's probably better if you buy the separate parts for that instead of a full kit, since you'll be replacing the panels anyway... And why reinvent the wheel? If you want a 303 kit that uses parts that are easier to find, why not build the Oakley TM3030? http://www.oakleysound.com/tm3030.htm That would be perfect with an MB-SEQ!!!

I still have my TG-33 - lots of fun... :) I have the rack mount kit for it too - it's mounted near my Wavestation A/D. Love synths with joysticks...! Doug (dreaming of someday owning a Prophet VS...)

Inside the Waldorf - Blofeld (plus: q+ & Andro' patch comparison)
Doug Wellington replied to Artesia's topic in Miscellaneous
Well, they all run the same DSP chip, don't they? Heck, I bet you could render those sounds on a farm card with awesome accuracy too... ;D "Far ahead of the rest"?? ??? Marketing... ::) -
Well, I *do* have two MKS-80's, a couple MKS-30's and an MKS-50, so I've got enough sounds stacked up... ;D

Inside the Waldorf - Blofeld (plus: q+ & Andro' patch comparison)
Doug Wellington replied to Artesia's topic in Miscellaneous
Sounds like Waldorf needs to come up with a Blofeld+ model... ;D -
I can't complain too much - I've gotten some very good deals on some of my toys. (Chroma, Prophet T8, MKS-80 - 'course, I had to do some repairs on a couple of them...) I'm hoping to find a CS-80 and a Jupiter 8 one of these days, and I'd like an Xpander or Matrix 12, too. I've seen some pretty serious prices on those things though... Yes, there are some great sounds out there, but the user interface is still a big problem! Heehee, well, I doubt if I'll be getting rid of my Triton Pro any time soon...! ;D I briefly considered replacing it with an M3, but I can pretty much accomplish the same thing (and more!) with the combination of the Triton and the V-Synth... (BTW, five grand? You must not be talking dollars...? They're $7500 here in the States...)

If the board is something you can wash off, buy an organic flux pen or a small bottle of organic flux. This stuff is great! Cuts right through the tarnish - just spread some on before you start to solder and the heat from the soldering iron will activate it. If you have components that can't be washed (potentiometers, multi-stranded wire) then use an RA flux - not quite as powerful, but not as critical that it be washed off.

You're welcome. Thank you too... :) With that kind of profit margin, I'm amazed that they managed to go out of business... ??? ::) P.S. Is your middle wire connected on the five conductor cable?

OK, can you handle an MP4 file? I didn't have much time tonight, but I wanted to get something posted for you, so I grabbed the HD cam and shot a few seconds of video. (Sorry for the bad lighting.) I hope you can grab some pics from it for the info you need. Let me know if that doesn't work and I'll dig up the still camera. http://www.analognotes.com/waldorf/pulseplus/rightribbon.mp4 http://www.analognotes.com/waldorf/pulseplus/leftribbon.mp4 As you'll see, the middle pin on the left (five wire) cable on my Plus is loose. If yours is attached, I'll love to see a shot of where it connects... :)

I've got one... I'll see what I can do... Doug

I'm still hoping to do the bulk order. To get that price I need to order 100 - so far we're about a quarter of the way there...
-
Well, funny thing is, they are being staggered in my world - I'm currently working on the MB-808 panels, cases and switches, the wood PT-10 case replacement, a couple Alps buys, a Sequentix P3 build, a couple x0xb0xes and some electronics repair jobs... :o ;) And yeah (obyazatelno!) Kartoshka, budget is ALWAYS an issue... ;D

Thanks for the link - those dimensions are good enough to get started. Anybody put that into an Eagle lib yet?
-
Pretty! Who makes those things? Do you have a link to a datasheet so I can see what size holes I'd need in my panel? Thanks...
-
No exact price yet. I've been trying to coordinate with Smash so that everything will be available about the same time...

Govorite po ruskij? Ochen xorosho! Kak dela? Otkuda vij izhaete? (Sorry, I need to find some way to input cyrillic...) OK, I tried... :D

Trying to follow along here Kart... are you complaining that newbies can come here and buy things that are for sale?

Anyone interested in Alps "N" type motor faders?
Doug Wellington replied to Doug Wellington's topic in Bulk Orders
Yes, they are linear taper. That's the best for a motorfader with one track that is used only for control. There are some dual track motor faders where one linear taper track is for motor control, and the second track has a log taper and the audio is passed through it... FWIW, once SR finishes his new MF board, I hope to test the "K" model motor fader with it - if it works, I'll go for a group buy on them too. (RSA0K11V900C - minimum order quantity 200 - 12 week lead time - about $25 each) -
UPDATE: I have received the first batch of 160! When the total reaches 320, I'll place another order. Original message: I can get the Alps N type motorized faders in the PCB mount version. Anyone interested? http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/dougwellington_bulk_orders

DIY audio patchbay with digital routing....How hard?
Doug Wellington replied to Nomical's topic in Design Concepts
Count me in... 8) -
Yes, should be good. And what about this: http://www.spectralis.de/ http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,11056.0.html I thought about applying, but I used to live in California... (Which is one of the big reasons I live in Arizona now...) ;D

The program merely exports the FPD file in .dxf format. I have converted the file you sent me - should I email it to you or do you want me to put it up on a web site somewhere so that you can retrieve it? EDIT: Woohoo! 100 posts!
