Cool keyboard! What are you using for those metal crossbars that the keybed is resting on?

I am interested in 70 DK11 and 10 datawheels. Thanks, John

This may be a little late, but a knob bulk order sounds like a great idea. I'm building a SEQV4 with RE160F-40E3-20A-24P encoders and looking for knobs now. A set like this would be perfect now I think: I would be up for buying quite a few extra so I don't have to worry about sourcing these again in future projects. Thanks, John

Which encoders should I buy for SEQ V4 build?
fundamental replied to fundamental's topic in Parts Questions
Guys, thank you for the quick helpful replies! That's exactly what I was looking for because I wasn't sure about the Bourns after those reports others had posted. I would probably go with the Bourns, but looks like the Bourns PEC16-4220F-S0024 are on backorder at Mouser and Digikey, so I'll probably go for the non-pushbutton Alpha 318-ENC160F-24P for now. Also, Peter, thanks for the great photo tutorial, I have been using that pretty heavily as well. I was interested in the ALPS encoders you link to in that tutorial: http://www.reichelt.de/Rotary-Pulse-Encoder/STEC12E08/3//index.html?ACTION=3&GROUPID=3714&ARTICLE=73923&SHOW=1&OFFSET=16 But I couldn't find that encoder here in US. Thanks, John -
I'm trying to figure out which encoders with pushbutton switch to get for my MIDIbox SEQ V4 build. I have the CS PCB now from SmashTV and ready to populate it. I've been going through several threads but I'm finding it hard to identify a known good current part available here. I'm in USA. If someone can post any known good current part numbers that are working for them and they like, please let me know. Thanks! John

Rowan, this looks good. Do you think you may be able to post your parts list and sources somewhere? I have the case, most of the PCBs and electronics and just ordered front and rear panels, but still need to order buttons, LEDs, LCDs, screws, and standoffs.

SmashTV Core STM32F4 + MIDI_I/O Module PCB
fundamental replied to fundamental's topic in Parts Questions
Ok, cool, thanks Peter. I just wasn't sure if there was already a kit or a list. Now I know the platform page is the authoritative source. I'll work from that, thanks for pointing me to it. John -
Hi all, I want to build the STM32F4 module pcb, but I'm not sure what the parts list is for what goes on the PCB. Is there a parts list anywhere for what goes on this PCB? Is there a SmashTV kit available that has all of the parts that go on the PCB, or would I need to order those from another supplier? Thanks, John

I'm really looking forward to finally be able to order a standard mbseq case with some front panels so I can build one but I'm still not 100% clear on the front panel design choices. As a general overarching hypothetical guidance, I will tend to favor cheaper, simpler designs. But because I do not have enough extra time to go off and design my own front panel, I will wind up going with a bulk order that is likely to work. All this to say that I have some mild sticker shock about the front panel cost, and to ask, is there still an opportunity to discuss the front panel design? Because for example, I would probably prefer no countersinking or counterboring on front screw holes, and I still don't completely understand the purpose of the other extra work on the back, and how the benefits justify the cost. Thanks for the patience of anyone who can help shed some light on these topics.

Can you explain a little more what you mean by this? I don't understand what the difference is between the two designs, what makes the one under consideration more expensive, and what the cheaper design alternative is. I don't know what "all the work on the back" means.

Hi julienvoirin, Did you ever sell this case? I may be interested. Also, which edge did you need to cut (PCB, Panel, or case)? Thanks, John

Software for STM32 Core as USB Midi interface?
fundamental replied to fundamental's topic in MIDIbox SEQ
Cool, thanks! -
I have an STM32 built that I intended to use in an mb_seq, but in the meantime I would like to use it as a USB Midi interface. That is, I want to be able to have it show up in for example qjackctl under Linux and be able to configure routes between the ports. Does anyone know of a software load, existing documentation, or a project already underway for this application (STM32 as USB MIDI interface)? Thanks! John
