There is quite a large list on http://www.albs.de/, but there are only very few photos.Their site is pretty awful for pics isnt it?theres about 5 pics attached on the knob stocklist page. Will you try emailing them to get up some more pics? Its a real shame you cant just click on a pic, and order 1000s of the suckers if you like them! Soclt Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 Many of knobs offered here are for round shaft. I see that ALPS pots usually are D-shaft. What about these knobs? Anyone knows good? Quote

Davo Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 I`m not sure why every knob manufacturer don`t offer all their knobs in version without pointer. AFAIK from known manufacturers only Re`an do it, but still, it is very difficult to get all their knobs variations in small quantity. I personally like their P670 model very much. It has so many advantages... it is soft touch, small diameter, small height, It has skirt that covers the nut, comes in variety of colors and it is cheap! :) Meny DIY people and commercial manufacturers use it for their units. But, they don`t offer a version without pointer. :( Recently I find on Farnell knob that seams exact clone of this Re`an knob, It is made by Multicomp and it has pointer-less version. :) But... there is always "but" datasheet says it is made out of plastics, so they are probably not soft touch. Here is the bad quality picture from Farnell datasheet: http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/105152.pdf direct link at Farnell: http://uk.farnell.com/multicomp/cr-bab-6-d/knob-15-7mm-black-no-line/dp/1441143?_requestid=87898 Also, Re`an`s 10mm wide, soft touch P675 is perfect when dense packing is necessary. Sorry to reply to such an old thread, but it's been a long time since I was on here. This is EXACTLY the sort of knob I've been looking for for a long time. Thanks for pointing this out. 26 pence seems a decent enough price too. Quote

Anybody know of a place to buy nice (soft touch) pointerless encoder knobs in small quantiites? I guess not but I guess it doesn't hurt asking... Quote
mongrol Posted February 1, 2016 Report Posted February 1, 2016 Necro bumping because this seems to be the most suitable place. I got a reply from Julian at Sonic Potions. The encoder knob used in the LXR is this one. It's plastic but a kinda soft plastic. I actually thought it was rubber. I'll be ordering this to go with my SEQ build as I have an LXR and know what it feels like. http://au.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=450-BA600virtualkey56100000virtualkey450-BA600 Don't be confused by the picture. It looks pretty much exactly like the one above posted by @Sasha Quote
Shuriken Posted February 1, 2016 Report Posted February 1, 2016 That's the same knob as used on the MI Shruthi encoder. Quote
mongrol Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 For datawheels which are easily the hardest part to get for a SEQ. Adafruit Scrubber Knob for Rotary Encoder: https://www.adafruit.com/products/2055 and the real ALPS DK38 available in singles. http://www.conrad-electronic.co.uk/ce/en/product/715751/ALPS-863002-Rotary-Knob-With-Finger-Grooves?ref=searchDetail I just love how Conrad want to charge me $80AUD for delivering a $2 part. Luckily my mum lives in the UK. Quote
mongrol Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 Another datawheel found on my travels. No minimum order and they can be found on Ebay apparently. http://www.chiashinknobs.com.tw/products/cs/cs-specifications-photos/CS250-4020B.htm Quote
