Guest SK12
Hi, i would like to purchase 150 pieces(for my friends& me). Unfortunately i do not have a credit card, so i was not able to sign up for paypal.Sascha
goyousalukis
Ok, here's the deal: I got the seller's last 150 encoders for a total of $40.00 US.That works out to $0.27 per encoder. Here is the list (in chrono order):Dr Bunsen 30 enc = $8.10 + shippingMrMusicman 50 enc = $13.50 + shippingDr Nick 30 Enc = $8.10 + shippingSascha 40 Enc = $10.80 + shippingTotal 150 Enc = $40.50Ok I need adresses for everyone except Mr Musicman, so I can give you a shipping quote before you pay me.Alternatively, I can ship them to Mr Musicman in Denmark, and he has offered to forward the packages on for cheaper shipping. I have no problem either way. The easiest way to pay me is through PayPal. Otherwise you will have to send me some sort of payment that I can easily cash here in the US. Send me an email either through the board or to my home email:Justin@Ahrens.Net with your address and how you intend to pay.Justin

goyousalukis
Ok, I got the encoders today. The only person who has given me his address is MrMusicman. The rest of you - Please email me your address so that I can get you a shipping quote. Kent, I will try to get a shipping quote tommorow (Saturday) or Monday the latest and let you know the cost. Have you heard from any of the other interested parties? Speak up or I'll keep them all for myself! Kyo
Hello all,I just received 50 of those encoders.Thank you very much for the info.I have 2 questions for you.First I would like to know what is the purpose of the little customization (ie part removal) ? Does it only modify (improve ??) the feeling ? Or does it improve the precision as well ?Second I wonder how to mount those on a front panel. As there is no screw on it. If anybody has descent solution I would be interested. ;)ThxKyo
Steven_C
The removal of a part is to make the encoder smooth, like the feeling of a normal pot. If if it is left normal, it will have a 'clicky' feeling, which will not improve accuracy, but it will make it easier for menu selection, and selecting an exact value.nice purchase!!Does this seller post outside US/ Canada? Kyo
Well he did post to france ;)Oh man I still miss a few parts.I am so close from completion. How frustrating is this.. :( ;)
goyousalukis
Second I wonder how to mount those on a front panel. As there is no screw on it. If anybody has descent solution I would be interested. ;)ThxKyoKyo, here are some pics of how I am mounting them:http://justin.ahrens.net/pic1.JPGhttp://justin.ahrens.net/pic2.JPGhttp://justin.ahrens.net/pic3.JPGhttp://justin.ahrens.net/pic4.JPGhttp://justin.ahrens.net/pic5.JPGhttp://justin.ahrens.net/pic6.JPGAlso, check out TK's pics at:http://www.midibox.org/midibox_sid_photos/Justin
Kyo
Thx justin.I fear some "stability" issues with this method.I mean do not you risk to detach it during manipulation.I'd like to avoid this solution but I fear this is the only one available ... goyousalukis
The only stability issue I have noticed involves the pushing of the encoder buttons. The perfboard flexes a little when the middle button is pushed. I might add another support screw halfway between the two on the long axis to eliminate the problem. I forgot to mention that I like the fact that I can adjust the exact height of the encoders as well. Since I don't know what kind of knobs I'll end up with, this is good.Justin
DrBunsen
I'm having a problem with my Paypal account. Is there anyone in Australia who could take a direct bank deposit for me and Paypal Justin for my encoders? Thanks
der.warst
Hey,hmmm, i might be a little late on this, but i'll try anyway: Is there anyone who has about 30 encoders (or at least 16) spare? And would ship them to Germany. Guess i'm too late for this bulk order, but if there's anyone else, please contact me.Simolch der Warst
goyousalukis
I've already shipped all the encoders, and they've arrived. I'm keeping an eye out for more encoders on ebay, and I've asked the seller of the panasonic encoders to email me if he gets more. The shipping for a global priority envelope was $9.00 us - the same price for australia , germany and denmark. Let me know if anyone finds a good deal in the us and wants me to purchase here and ship to them. I'd be happy to do this.Dr. Bunsen, don't worry too much about paypal.. we'll work it out.Justin
DrBunsen
Thanks Justin. I'll get it sorted out ASAP.
Dr_Nick
The push buttons are also very usefull if you want to visualize the value which is assigned to the knob without changing the value. Maybe I will build such a function into the MBSID application (although I'm using encoders without integrated knobs) because it improves the handling. Currently you have to change the layer to achieve this.Hi Thorsten!Any idea if you'll get around to implement this? I would really like that feature...Regards, Dr. Nick
Phattline
Oh man to late, or? ??? But if anyone see´s a good deal, say it I also need 150 encoders ;)
