  1. Hi Axel 8) sounds like a lot of thought went into the panel design! I've been thinking of using two strips of aluminium to hold my motorfaders in a row whilst in the testing phase! I have an audiotrak INCA 88 soundcard, yes, it has asio2 drivers. But logic fun is really complicated to me, and I haven't managed to get individual ins and outs to work yet. (works fine in cubase) I'm getting 'Logic education' when it comes out in a couple of weeks, which I think (hope) is the same as logic silver, and then I'll be able to read the manual!!!!! btw, do you have a logic environment for multitrack audio recording?? I'm still not sure if that's what I want, it still dosen't make much sense to me yet!! (I have a Protools background ;)) well have fun using that thing! bye from Steve
  2. Hey Ian, I was reading an old issue of Computer Music, when I saw someone referencing a letter you had written to the magazine!! he he... bye from Steve
  3. Wow! looks like a lot of inginuity in that thing! good luck with your midibox adventures! ;D bye from Steve, btw, thanks for helping me understand how to load bootstrap etc!!!!!
  4. I downloaded eagle light at my college.... my connection was too frail to download at home!! So I should be able to view these layouts now! :) Bye Steve, from yourself!
  5. I think Thorsten mentioned that he got a ribbon controller from Yamaha as a spare part for a good price! Joysticks?? expensive, but maybe you can get them as a spare part for a radio control transmitter or for very cheap from an old analogue computer joystick!! (I bought one brand new for only $5)
  6. Hey Kieran, haven't heard from you for a while!! what do you mean.... Crystalfontz? april fools joke or supplier of LCD's??? bye from Steve
  7. Hi, I believe that Thorsten has taken this issue into consideration, and written implementation that does not require touch sensitivity to release motor when you stop the fader moving. Other than that, there is no way to add touch sensitivity unless you attach some sort of wiper to the knob and add a track externally to the slider for it to rub on. Probably too difficult. bye from Steve :)
  8. Wow! what an awesome piece of work! Inspiration indeed! Hey Axel, are you doing multitrack recordings in logic? I'm buying Logic in a few weeks (New lower student price deals will be happening then) and want to know if I can use my 8in 8out soundcard. Logic control is around $3000 in Australia probably 3 times the cost of building it, depending on which components you use, could be cheaper. ;) I dunno about other countries bye, from Steve
  9. Hi, I have previously had exactly the same problem!!! Just make sure you follow the configuration instructions exactly on Thorsten's how to program page! ;D bye, from Steve

  11. Hi, Â does anyone know why I get the message..... Â E - The database is corrupted. It has probably been copied from a different architecture using ASCII mode, copy using binary mode. Â Thorsten, I miss the bitmap files that you used to let us download! Â bye, from Steve
  12. Hey, documentation...............are you refering to the MIOS introduction page? Are these graphic displays a generic type? can you use any 64 by 240 display? or only the 'displaytech' display from reichelt? has firmware/implementation been written for using two 2*40's, and how well does it work with 2*40's compared to 64 by 240? :-/ thanks, from Steve
  13. welcome gohei! its great to have you! Â :) wow I wish I had a girlfriend who would play midi with me! some advice... be patient, read about the MBHP platform, ask questions, and ordering premade boards makes it easier, probably one of the harder things is deciding which functions you want, and how many controllers, designing the box etc! The beauty of the mbhp platform is that if you decide to add more functions later, you can! try to design a box that you can easily add more functions to later! good luck! ;D p.s. with software, it is easier to use rotary encoders most professional software will support these (or you will have the jumping to position problem using standard potentiometers unless you save your setups using a bankstick
  14. anyone want to order LCD graphic displays while we are at it? I'm in Sydney :) (and interested in bulk encoders too!)
  15. if we do that bulk order mentioned on the other forum thread, maybe we could organise a graphic LCD order as well? other than that, $5.63 for quantities over 100 at Farnell...... a little better, but still very expensive! aussie aussie aussie......oi oi oi!!!!!!!!! later......... 8)
  16. Hey Thorsten, I like the one that you have used, but I was wondering if any of the cheaper ones had been implemented. (graphical) I think that the price difference is too small to try to save money by using the 2*40 displays! I have found a source of encoders in Australia, at farnell.....cat no. 733-751, at aust$6.41 each for quantities of 50 or more, if any other australiens are interested in a bulk purchase. it is an alps encoder, EC16B series well the site that sells the type that you bought for 66 euros was very slow and hard to navigate, thats kinda why I was asking about alternatives, as well as the cost factor! But I can go to my college and use their connection, cos its fast! I guess I would have already read about it if other displays had been implemented! BTW Thorsten, I admire your attitude, I mean its good that you kept your cool about that mishap with your site, and didn't get all aggressive, and that you keep that friendly community attitude going on this forum! bye from Steve!
  17. Now, is there any documentation on what the soft-overtake function is? just curious. ::)
  18. :o Now that is a nice piece of work TK! :o
  19. Now Now, stop giving Thorsten Ideas! or he will run out of space again! ::)
  20. Hi everyone, Â I'm just wondering if someone can suggest an LCD which has worked on mios, as well as cost effective encoders? Â Thanks, from Steve :) BTW I'm located in Australia
  21. Hi everyone, I don't want to discourage anyone from building their own, personalised midibox, but a friend of mine recently bought a midi controller keyboard with 12 controller knobs built in, USB, all for only $349 Australian. (I think about $160 US.) Now this is a good deal, if you require all these features, and a quick solution! If anyone wants more info, just ask! ;)
  22. He He! I'd given up waiting, and then I got a reply from Microchip, and I now have two pic18f452 yeah! thanks Ian!
  23. I'm sure one of us will be able to help you find a new sid if need be! ;)
  24. old c64's are easy to find on ebay, but lets hope the sid is ok!
  25. Go the panasonics go! (I'm waiting for mine to arrive!) ;D
