Neee, bei ner MB64 ist am besten 2x16 geeignet(absolut ausreichend). Falls du einen anderen Display mit mehr Info willst, geht das türlich auch. Aber den musst du dir dann auch selbst programmieren. Ist aber mit MIOS auch nicht DAS Problem...

You do need a very high perfomance to include colour within a display. I´m not sure, but I don´t think that the PIC is powerful enough for that. One solution could be to use two PICs. One only for the controlling of the display, the other for MIOS and sending the data to the Display-PIC. Anyhow it will be much work to include this feature...

Kommt absolut darauf an, was du machen willst... für MB64/MBSeq ist ein 2x16/4x16 oder sowas ideal. Für Midimon 4x20 und für z.B. LC 2x40. Beim SID z.B. kannst du alles 2xXX verwenden (2x16,2x20,2x40 was einem halt passt). Abba 9 Eu für ein *gebrauchtes* 2x40er ist schon an der Grenze (der Typ weiß, was er verlangen kann!). Ist so ziemlich genau der gebrauchte Preis... ohne HG. Was willste denn basteln?

Logisch... die fehlenden 2 Pins sind lediglich zur Stromversorgung der Hintergrundbeleuchtung nötig. Was heißt billig?

Yes, you can. You also can build following modules, as they will be certainly used: 2x AINx4, DINx4, DOUTx4 Greets /edit: Naturally build the core with an 10MHz Oscilator! For that PIC 18F...

Hey, cool, have fun! And: I´m away nearly every weekend, since I got (nearly) no internet connection @ home. Under the week I´m at the college ("Fachhochschule" in german) and so have a perfect connection of 10 Mbit !! *grin* ;D

Some friend told me that the Atari is perfect for all MIDI stuff. He even pulled it apart and put it into a more compact case... He also told me some Sequencing software, but I forgot the name of it. Anyhow, in his opinion, the Atari is perfect... I will ask him for the name again, if I have some time.

Hey! Easy one (I think): You can use the 74HC4051 as an suffix for the 4051, right? It´s just a high speed version of it draining a little more current, isn´t it? Reason of asking: All 74HCs are available as samples @ Texas Instruments. :)

Jau, echt war... Bin nicht der Conrad Besteller und hab auch keinen Laden in der Naehe... kann da nicht mal jemand sich "erbarmen"? Waere schon nicht schlecht... *standby*

Zwei Sachen, die mir da einfallen: 1. Ein Kumpel hat mir mal von selbst abisolierenden Kabeln erzaehlt (von Siemens). Die kannst du auch mitten im Strang mal kurz abisolieren (einfach mit dem Loetkolben hin und das Kabel zieht sich so zusammen, das die Kupferleitung freigelegt wird). ABER: kA, wieviel die kosten und wo es die gibt (evtl mal googlen oder bei Siemens nachhaken). 2. Ich benutze sehr gerne entweder lange Stiftleisten, um die Platinen direkt untereinander anzuordnen ( Leiterplattenverbinder). Da muss man dann allerdings sehr genau Vorarbeit leisten (das alles auch zueinander passt). Und: Auch noch sehr gerne: Einfach Stiftleisten reinloeten und Pfostenleisten in Schneidklemmtechnik (+ Flachbandkabel) verwenden ( Reichelt: PFL 10 u.a.). Die sind zwar doppelrehig, aber ist ja wurst... muss man halt nur aufpassen, das man die richtigen Seiten auf die Stiftleisten aufsteckt. btw: Bist du echt weiblich? ;D

I would wait for the MIOS release of the MBSeq. There's much coming (as far as I know the Seq will also be able to read Dump files from the PC). I'm waiting, too, at the moment... ;) Besides: I plan to make the MBSeq 3 HE rack design ( 3 HE !!! ), which is only like apr. 5 cm deep (the cables connected to it will NOT stand up and so make it higher than it was meant to). It will be a little more compact that way though you shouldn't do that if you have big fingers... ;) When I'm done, I would put that file on the portal and tell you, if you're interested.

@arumblack: Nope, not without BIG modifications on the C64 keyboard. It's not a IIC device. If you look at your keyboard, there are many cables going to the motherboard. I think it's some multiplexed matrix system or so behind there....

:-/ I would really like to, but no rotary enc... just a MB64 (still no MIOS besides). Sorry... :-/

Hey TK! I´m in the middle of planing a MB64Seq (although my SID is not finished yet and the USB module isnt working yet  ;D ). And I stumbled about some questions regarding the port of the Seq. - Should I rather wait for the port with my planing? - Can I still only use 16 LEDs? Those 64 LEDs are a sure thing (coool... more flashing stuff)? - The LCD: Will it still be 2x16 or just whatuwant (like the MBLC)? Or perhaps even the TV? (*freakingout*) ... ... ... cant get enough of it ...  ::) ;D

Should be easily done with MIOS. Just send (127-(PotPosition)) instead of the normal value and you have it.

Also auf jeden Fall wäre es sinnvoller, daß AIN Modul mit reinzuschieben, schon allein wegen der Anzahl an Kabeln. Du solltest dann auf jeden Fall gut geschirmte Kabel verwenden, dann müsste alles passen. Die Stromversorgung kannst du auch über das gleiche Kabel schicken, kein Prob. Du solltest nur mehrere Adern (2 oder 3 einfach parallel löten) gleichzeitig verwenden (nur um sicher zu gehen...), jeweils für die Masse (die gleichzeitig über die Abschirmung geht) und für die 5V. Solange das Kabel dann nicht zu lang wird, müsste alles passen...
