  1. Jo geht anders: matrix ;)
  2. Warning - while you were typing a new reply has been posted. You may wish to review your post. Anyways: The opamps would run on +-5V as well, they might clip a lot and the sound maybe shite but it should work.
  3. Just for the record and future reference: The voltage rating is a maximum rating, which means that using higher voltage ratings is safe and a good thing to do. u1 == µ1 == 0µ1 == 0.1µ == 100n, the "factor" (nano, micro, ...) is often used instead of a decimal separator. See above. About the 78S09. IIRC the S means it can handle 2A as opposed to the 7809 which can handle 1A.
  4. Good man! Good man! Sorry for the hijack ;)
  5. Those are some neat high-voltage caps you're using there ;) And I hereby retract my Wilba-Drunken-Monkey-Soldering comment... Did you really really check _everything_ for bridges / broken tracks / ... ?
  6. ;) Just pulling your leg, maybe I just missed them, if not: bad futureman, must post pics of pretty boxes!
  7. Ahaha, we did that with a college database once, which was needed for some assignment... They did fix their scripts afterwards ;)
  8. [me=nILS Podewski]raises hand[/me] What do you want for one?
  9. The toolchain changed about a year ago, so you'll need to install the new one: http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=windows_toolchain_quickstart
  10. Okay, stryd, you dig em up, and I'll bring 'em over to the WIKI with this baby:
  11. Welcome aboard marcustiso :D Seriously? Virtually all the projects are driven by a core module, which has a midi In and Out: http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp_core.html By MIDI and the optional control surface. Yes. Yes. It is controlled via CC and SysEx. There's a mbFM patch editor for JSynthlib as described here: http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_fm.html Well, all you'd need to do is hook up the output of any MIDI keyboard to the MIDI In of the core module and you've got one :-) Hope that helps!
  12. Om nom nom! The SSM cjip is pretty, nice white silkscreen - sure it's not a fake? ;) It's the same size as your SSM2044 pcb - do the mount holes line up as well? And most importantly - Where do I sign up?
  13. Welcome aboard AGW! :D Yes this makes sense and has been done ;) Details on the MIDI Router can be found here -> http://www.ucapps.de/midi_router.html
  14. So you dig through everyone's profiles to see if there's offsite doco? ;)
  15. *hüstel* Ihr glaubt ja tatsächlich, dass Kölsch Bier ist, was? ;)
  16. Regulators and resistors both "drop the voltage". Correct. But a resistor does that depending on the load (Ohm's Law, voltage = current * resistance) so when the current changes the voltage does as well. A voltage regulator always puts out the correct voltage. The voltage regulator itself does not _need_ the electrolytic (and/or ceramic/polyfilm/...) caps, they are used to reduce noise. Which is something you really wanna do in a synth.
  17. 1) Do not mess with the PCB. You don't "fix" something that's not broken so that it will only work with a faulty PSU... 2) Resistors are not really a linear voltage regulator... 3) I have bought and sold about 15 of the bricks and had ONE that really really didn't work. Seems odd to me that _all_ the ones you have are garbled. My suggestion: Option 5. Get a new one, see if it works, if not repeat. From what you're saying I think it would be better if you were NOT to poke around in a PSU.

    .tel

I agree, .tel is soooo much easier to remember than .com for instance. *whack*
  19. So is it summer and winter in the western hemisphere? How do you dress accordinlgy? Moonboots, shorts, winter jacket and sunglasses?
  20. TK is never wrong, his shift key might be though. Yeah and those odd passwords are annoying as hell. How is an average geek supposed to remember something like "123ABCabc" or the classic "1qay2WSX"... Actually, now that I think about it - this is like an automated filter - if you can't remember your password you prolly won't be able to build a midibox anyways. ;)
  21. Oooh that thing is pretty! Nice work! Love the routing led-matrix ;)
  22. While I'm in the genre ;) Here's a bunch of remixes. nILS - Blasphemy (yes, it's a remix) nILS - Saber Rider Remix
  23. Until I get the eDrum off the queue I am playing the drums on the keyboard. Left hand does the hihat and cymbals, right hand does bass drum and snare. The XP-30 is working nicely for me. Does all I need it to and lots more :-)
  24. All of it is me. The synth is solo played on my XP-30, guitars on a Les Paul and a Strat copy, drums on XP-30 as well.
  25. Obviously it is spring - otherwise you couldn't jam happy spring music like this: http://nils.podewski.de/music/poprock/nILS_-_Spring.mp3 Anyone else?
