No, DIN is the opposite of DOUT ;) Please read the DIN and DOUT pages again and you will understand what these modules are for. And iI think this will also answer your questions about AIN (analog for pots - you won`t need it if you use only encoders). Just wire each switch position (don't know how to say it in english) to a different DIN input.

The knobs on Thortens SID were directly from Waldorf. TzanhZsu did the centralized bying for the forum. But unfortunately Waldorf does no longer exist... Perhaps because their synths were too expensive :-( So I don't know, if these knobs are available somewhere else....

Each takes 32 pots. So you will need 2 AIN modules for 64 pots. Same here. One for 32. Two for 64. A LCD would be good for debugging even if you don't want to integrate it in your box. Ah, and don't forget to order the PIC with bootloader. Otherwise you will need a programmer. I don't know Ableton. But if it understands normal MIDI message, you don`t need to program anything. A(node) und K(athode) tauschen zerstört definitiv nichts. Der Unterschied ist nur, dass in der einen Richtung Strom fließen kann und das Backlight dann leuchtet und in die Andere Richtung kein Stom fließen kann. Dann bleibts halt dunkel ;D

Wenn Du das Forum durchsuchst, wirst Du eine lägere und etwas hitzige ;) Diskussion darüber finden. Die sind auf dem Platinenlayout natürlich noch nicht drauf und bei mir geht es auch ohne. Für einen stabilen Betrieb würde ich sie aber einfach auf der Unterseite der Platine plazieren. Gruß, Raphael

Wenn MIOS drauf ist, solltest du alle 2 Sekunden eine Meldung bekommen. Wenn es ohne LCD geht, solltest Du nochmal ganz genau die Verkabelung des LCDs prüfen. Daran liegt es dann wohl, dass der PIC nicht bootet. Raphael

The device ID has to be different for the different cores in your mulit-SID. So just pick ID 0 for your first CORE and if you want to extend with another SID give the CORE ID 1.

Hallo! Welche Werte? Drück dich doch bitte mal genauer aus. Das am LCD nicht zu sehen ist, das ist normal, solange MIOS noch nicht drauf ist. Allerdings zeigen die meisten LCDs eine Reihe schwarzer "Kästchen" an, solange sie nicht initialisiert sind. Über MIDI solltest du aber alle 2 Sekunden die Meldung des Bootloaders sehen können.

Yes, only the host software (Cubase, Logic, Samplitude...) assigns the channels to the controllers. So you would need 3 MIDI IN/OUT and assign one of them to your "master" LC and the other two to the XTs. Take a look at the controller implementation in your host software and read the Mackie Control manuals you can download from Mackie (I've posted the links to this manual some time ago here in the forum... search for it.) Looks OK for a LC. No, you will have to connect the second core (XT) directely to your computer via a second MIDI IN/OUT connection. This is required by the Mackie protocol. Every controller needs it`s own connection.

Should be OK with 2 LDCs without backlight (Or with one LCD with backlight). If you use big LCDs (2x40) with backlight better use a 800-1000mA spply. And better get a 9V supply as the voltage regulater will get hot with 12V. Yes, thats OK. Higher maximum voltage is no problem. Sorry, I've used linked cores only in MBSID so I cna't say anything on this. Someone else? Raphael
