As far as I understand the MIOS sourcecode all DINs are scanned every ms (search for IRQ_Timer1). So no difference if a button is first or last in chain. I think Thorsten arranged them for easy wiring in his own boxes ;)

Also innerhalb Deutschlands kostet ein versichertes Paket (bis 5kg und versichert bis 500€) pauschal 7€. Genügend Kartons sollten hier auch rumliegen, so dass ich für Verpackung kein Geld ausgeben müsste. Ich selbst hätte meine Fader dann doch gerne versichert verschickt gewusst. Raphael

The MIDI "crap" comes from your not connected AIN inputs or - if no AIN is connected - from the open PINs on CORE:J5. So plig in all your pots and clamp all remaining inputs on the AIN module to ground. This should stop the random messages.

Wenn Du das "durchschnittlich" weg lässt, dann stimmt das so ;D. Er sollte diese Spannung immer aushallten. Größere Werte sind also völlig unproblematisch. Ich habe sowohl Encoder von Voti, als auch von SmashTV. Beide günstig und gut (Bei Smash ist halt der Versand nach Deutschland etwas teurer...) Raphael

Yes, but one USB port can only deliver 500mA (maximum - most laptops only deliver 100mA!). Keep that im mind. So, don't tihnk about a LCD with backlight... I think the MB USBModule is supported under OSX. Should be OK. Why do you think, you will have to programm a EPROM? The MB USB module uses a EEPROM similar to the bankstick module which is programmed via the AN2131SC (which is programmed via USB). No special equipment needed. Raphael

No, you cant get Power over MIDI cable from the PC. Would be interresting to watch the power supply voltage whith an oscilloscope while you plug your MIDI cable. Can you meassure the 5V from the PSU when your cable is connected? I think, this has to be a wiring/soldering problem.

Have you already double(triple)checked the wiring of your OUT port and all the solderings around the OUT circuit? Or have you mounted your OUT connector on a metal plate which is connected to something else?

Perhaps this has nothing to do with your crash, but have you changed the connection of J4:SC from pin 22 to pin 28? This is required since MIOS 1.7 (If you use a bnkstick).

I meant hardware debugging ;) Check, if all your buttons are working and so on. You won't need to debug the software. And as Jidis said, a LCD is really useful too when the box is up and running. Concerning the PIC SysEx ID. Just choose 0 if you only want to use one core in your box.
