Does RS60N11M9 (5K version) works on MF Module?
Screaming_Rabbit replied to mr_kholl's topic in Parts Questions
... as far as I know, nobody ever tried this. Though there are many successfull implementations of regular 5k potentiometers. Theoretically it should work but you have to try. - Just buy one or get a sample and do some tests. Greets, Roger PS: You can search the forum for the regular 5k pots to gather additional information. -
I don't see the worthiness of all this effort for DIY. If I build a unit for myself, I know where I'm going to place it... rack or table. The reason for building the roland piece like this, is because one user wants a tabletop and another one wants a rack unit. Greats, Roger

I need to find slide potentiometers (faders)
Screaming_Rabbit replied to Foona's topic in Parts Questions

Haha... and then you die because of a to high colesterol value from all those eggs ;D

Building a full controller what would be the price?
Screaming_Rabbit replied to dobz's topic in MIDIbox HUIs
... this is one thing that speaks for a custom made controller. Why should the fader space be 30, 35, 40mm? About money: Don't forget the price for Motorfaders: 33 x ~18€ :P Machined FaderPanels: 3 to 4 (or more) x ~ 120 - 160€ In short: If you want a (almost) pro controller and want to safe money... forget it. As "Sasha" mentioned above: If you want YOUR controller... Good luck and have fun, it's a great place to spend time with thinking and pondering. Greets, Roger -
Greets, Roger EDIT: Typos

The Dub Master MIDIbox 64 -work in progress-
Screaming_Rabbit replied to Foona's topic in MIDIbox HUIs
... take it easy. When you're new to this stuff, there is so much information to stuff into your head. - At the moment you think you got it all, and then you suddenly miss pieces again. - Good luck with your box. Greets, Roger -
... the fact that human heads have sculls under their skin was my idea... ääähhmm... at least I think so. - Anyway... so the whole logo is based on a scull which means, it was actually my idea. ;D ;D ;D :P Cool T-Shirt, Logo, Creators, Copright owners... Greets, Roger

Greets, Roger

... weiss schon. - War ja auch 8 Jahre ÖR-Rundfunk Tontechniker.
-
Warum so komliziert? I have to intervene. I just checked the two mentioned tools above... that's not really what I call CAD. Visio might not come close to AutoCAD, but at least I can call it a CAD-tool. I come quite good along with Visio and when you have some training, you're quick as hell. Greets, Roger

Update: Some News (My Beloved and soon to be MB64)
Screaming_Rabbit replied to Pablop's topic in MIDIbox of the Week
For me (as far as I can see on the pictures) it definitely is MDF. ... I think you're talking about "hardboard" or in German "Hartfaser-Platte" ... you better don't. - MDF and its glue doesn't like water ;) Greets, Roger -
I'm sorry but I don't understand your english. What is your mothertongue? Perhaps you can re-write your question in the forum of your language (if available). Greets, Roger

hehe... hab doch eben irgendwo im Forum gelesen statt "US-Dollar", "Pesos-Dollar" ;D

Inside the waldorf XT (expecially encoders)
Screaming_Rabbit replied to ganchan's topic in Miscellaneous
These look like Panasonic Encoders. About the grease: Don't even think about pouring your own grease in there, it seems to be a very difficult thing to have the right amount of grease in it. - We once had to send a whole lot back to Alps for replacement, due to too much grease in them from the factory. The result was, that they didn't contact reliable anymore and were "jumping". Greets, Roger -

Industrially it's done by screen printing (like I told you once in the chat). You could use a self adhesive foil, cut the areas out where you'd like to print the pads onto the board (e.g. with a cutting plotter, most public relation companies have them). Like I told you, the challenge will be to get a nicely plain surface, which is not convex. - But I see a chance, if you use this technique, you'll be able to spread the garphite-paint over the sunken (cut out) pads with a spattle and achieve this way, that the pads have the same hight as the stencil foil. Then, when it's all dry and before you remove the stencil foil, you can sand the pads with a very fine sanding paper. Greets, Roger

Greets, Roger
