Basically/Globally: Yes you can do what you want, if you say SoundDiver can control it. It mostly only depends on what your Synth lets you control over MIDI. If I look at your profile, I would suggest that you explore the forum and ucapps.de more (watch the "MB of the week"-section) and you will get inspired automatically. Mabuchi macht von teuren CoreLess Motoren bis zu absolutem Billigschrott. - Mabuchi allein steht also in keinster Weise für Qualität, obwohl die CoreLess Motoren der Alps K-Type von Mabuchi sind und absolut zufriedenstellend sind. Das ist nicht zu vergleichen mit Maxxon, welche NUR Qualitätsmotoren herstellen (verwendet in den teuren P&Gs)... da kann man anhand der Marke sagen: Top Qualität. Greets, Roger

Die Frage ist, was mit axial/radial gemeint ist bzw. was zu was. Mein Verständnis würde bei "axial" meinen, dass die Motorachse längs/parallel zur Fader-Bahn liegt... also genau so, wie der aktuelle Alps N-Type gebaut ist. Mechanisch gesehen, ist das aufgrund der nötigen Umlenkungen ein absoluter Schwachsinn in Bezug auf die Performance bzw. auf die Leichtgängigkeit. Der einzige Grund, weshalb der N-Type so gebaut ist, besteht darin, dass man nur mit liegendem Motor eine solch geringe Bauhöhe erreicht. Von P&G gibt es ein Modell mit liegendem Motor, bei welchem eine Kevlar-Saite über Umlenkrollen geleitet wird, was zu einer beachtlich guten Performance führt. - Downside: Sündhaft teuer :( Da der Verkäufer aber sagt, dass der Motor im Gegensatz zum neueren Modell "axial anstatt radial" liegt, gehe ich davon aus, dass er ein anderes Verständnis hat als ich und damit meint, dass die Motorachse senkrecht zur Faderbahn liegt... also so, wie beim K-Type und den "normalen" P&Gs. Falls es Dir also nicht auf die Bauhöhe ankommt, wäre ein "stehender" Motor besser als ein liegender wie beim aktuellen Alps N-Type. Mir ist nicht bekannt, dass es den N-Type früher mit einem stehenden Motor gegeben hat. Ich bin mir deshalb nicht sicher, ob es sich nicht um einen Alpha Fader handelt. Alpha Fader sind mehr oder weniger Kopien von Alps und qualitativ leicht unterlegen (vor allem bei den teureren Modellen). Falls es sich wirklich um ein altes Modell handelt, bin ich mir fast sicher, dass diese schon lange nicht mehr hergestellt werden, was bedeuten würde, dass diese Fader welche Du kaufen willst, jahrelang in irgend einem Lager gelegen haben. Das Problem: Wenn die Fader über längere Zeit (ca. 1 Jahr) nicht bewegt werden, gewöhnt sich der Gummi des Zahnriemens an die Biegung der Umlenkrollen und will diese beibehalten. Dies macht sich dann bemerkbar, dass der Fader nicht gleichmässig läuft. Aud diesem Grunde findest Du in den SPEC-Sheets der Alps Fader: "Do not store longer than 1 Year" ;) Greets, Roger

... yes, better concerning this issue. On the other hand, the DSP-processing is not very flexible when it comes to changing dynamically what it has to do. Both technologies have ups and downs.
