hi , as Seppoman said in another post , the regulator mounted on the core need at least 6,5v to deliver the 5v regulated current ,so you will have less than 5v after the regulator. if your power is regulated and in DC , i thinkyou can bypass the reg on the core. this tread will be probably more clear: http://69.56.171.55/~midibox/forum/index.php?topic=4264.0

:) great thanks !!!but please, don' t think i'm asking that to obtain the ready made answer ,and i think i'm now near to find how to do ,after two night of test! -
my fiirst pcb is arrived , and i need an advise to add the "Another Dual Voltage Controlled Amplifier" , but i don't see how i must do to keep the control pot with the vca circuit : if i put the VCA after the pot ,i will be obliged to "open" fully the pot ,and if i put the VCA before ,my pot will work with the signal still driven by the VCA. i see there is pot on the VCA module build on the page http://www.musicfromouterspace.com/analogsynth/newdualvca.html ,so where have I to connect them?

-MIOS 1.7 is displayed when it's MIOS 1.7 in the pic ,that sure! -No need to put a new PIC to upload MIOS 1.7 -Are any message error in the confirmation strings send back by your pic? are you sure that you click on "send sysex" within the two second after the first string is send by your pic :it's really important to do this AS SOON AS you see the first sysex string in your in monitor windows!! if you wait too long ,the mios start and then you can only upload application ! Are the "pass sysex" marked in the option Menu of midiOX ? during the upload ,are you pic send back the confirmation string between each string?

Hi ,hallucinogen : could it be possible to extract from your schématics only the part dedicated to the snare ,this project is in my todo list ,but a bit too big for the while (lag of money and knowledge..), and may be the one for the kick? Great thanks ,your work is beautiful!

hi , i'm an old creamware user ,and what we see in the three last year : no more developpement for all the guys (about 30000!!!) that spend money in this platform ,and the process go on!!!!! >:( our creamware card are near to be out of date ,and when i call to ask them "when the next update, when the next more powerfull DSP board ,they reply :"we now axe our development on broadcast and radio setup"!! (means: don't care no more about your "little euros" ). With this new gear ,they probably want to get new customers ,and recycle all the ANALOG DEVICE ships they still have in stock so... And now :they recycle two already done synths ,included in a controleur that some guy build two years ago (it was a "Minimax" controler still show two year ago in a music MESS or such evenment!) I hope the future will prove me i'm wrong ,cause the MODULAR synth and the vectron are probably my favorites ones on the PC platform ,and there is no better emulation of oldies than the creamware one ! But this two synth ,supposing they are the same we still get on our cards ,are realy great ,and take a look to this one from John Bowen: http://www.zargmusic.com/ ...

seq v2 with 4 rows of butons : workarounds

hi , does it mean i have to create new ""SEQ_PATTERN_EVNTS"" and ""SEQ_PATTERN_EVNTT"" entries , that my step buttons set on or off when the pattern selection hook is installed , and a new ""SEQ_GP_Mode0_LED_Cont2"" that clone the first one ,just with this changed: ? i see in cs_menu_pattern : ;; install callback function for general purpose buttons, used as bank select buttons here TABLE_ADDR CS_M_PATTERN_GP_Callback call CS_MENU_SetMenuGPCallbackHook rcall CS_M_PATTERN_UpdateGPLEDs does that means that if my 64 GP buttons are installed and still pointing each to a pattern number ,the right led in the matrix will light up ?( and so i have to work mainly on the assignment of my boutons to the right pattern number) -
the loader process have failed ,you must see "mios rebooting" at this end of the sysex send ,then "MIOS 1.7" ,then "READY". maybe you forgot to set the correct delay value in your sysex configuration menu : 2048 8 2048 8 750ms

you want to know what do the MIDIbox project succesful?
-
hi , you're right about my mistake ,i've used the word "current" in this general meaning. but atomsize wrote : so i was thinking he build a power supply that already down the VOLTAGE ;) to 5V before the regulator already present on the CORE . atomsize :it's what you do? if yes ,the reply of seppoman give you the right answer when he said : (great thank for this info)if not ,his first answer is the good one . i'm talkin about voltage before the regulator ,of course... now ,i will go back do some exercises about the Ohm law!!! ;)

Hi , T.K. : to be honest ,my first try following your advise don't success at this time ,but i will find the solution in trying again... But , triyng to do other tests , i've realised that it's maybe another way for what i want to do : i success in routing directly the GP button to the seq_mode4_menu in the buttons .inc , (of course ,the step fonction of them doesn't work anymore ,but when the 64 buttons will be here ,it will be no matter : so my GP butons can only be used for the menu selection ,and other fonctions of the seq_modeX_menu wil stay attached to the step menu: and then ,this idea : in pattern mode : the 64 step buton could select directly the first 64 patterns (track1 step 1-8 =A 1-8 \step 9-16 =a 1-8...)plus an add. button to switch the step to select bank E to H. ,i think it's a great mode for the live performance! for the time ,i just want to know where is located the table that drive the step ledmatrix (i can already test that), and if i can re-use it in pattern mode to light up the right one according to the selected pattern (i think the actually pattern mode use the GP_Led pattern ,not the step-led one ,isn't it?) -
sorry ,i've forgot you ! i will do this tomorrow !
-
hi , Why alternative ? maybe you don't know how much open is the MIDIbox Operating System ? maybe your project could supplement the MIDIbox one ? competition, as there is no commercial purpose here, will be for the knowledge ,so i think it won't be a bad thing!!! :) waiting for your site!...

the panel is a schaefer one ,the artwork done in photoshop then printed on a classic inkjet printer on LAZERTRAN inkjet paper. the next time ,i will use A3 sheet and go "to the town" for the printing process. Some guys tell me the Lazertran for lazer printer is really better ,cause the printed side is "beside" the sheet (you print it reversed ) ,no with the one i used. for the buton ,some are coming from a "second hand" shop (a shop of old house furnitures!!) ,but it's not a good deal ,this butons are very chips (the ones with a metal ring ),and have to be screwed to the panel ,that not a good thing. for the little ones ,i see you can still find them here: http://www1.fr.conrad.com/scripts/wgate/zcop_fr06fa5029/~flN0YXRlPTI4MDA4NDc4NzQ=?~template=pcat_product_details_document&r3_matnr=000000000000705047&object_id=0000000000000000000000000000000000705047&object_guid=9F136E3BABD18552E10000000A010220&p_load_area=CP050602&text_ztab=Couleur%40Bleu&area=CP050602&page=2&price=Aucun+prix+n%27a+%e9t%e9+trouv%e9%2e they are the WORST ,don't take this ones!!! for the orange ,they're great ,but maybe a bit hard to push and they come from farnell , too expensive ,but as it was missing only five ... the next time ,i will do the butons by myself using silicone or in polyester resin (the sculpture you can see on the first picture is in resin ,done in a silicon mould , it's a process i know very well .I will use "FIMO" past for the templates ,a thing you can find in many "beaux-arts" shop ,in many color ,and easy to work with ..after all my reflexion about this ,i think its the better way to do your "personal" button. And by this way it will be easy to integrate led in my butons...
