!!OFFTOPIC!! US i was reading your website, it seems interesting stuff, i also like the way you ve built it, getting really tired of fancy sites. I am going to redesign mine soon and i ll be probably inpired by yours. !!BACKTOTOPC!! There is some big project going on there i see, pictures are a bit blurred though. we love details here! ;) I would put this in flashing big letters under the MIDIBOX logo, for my own sake of course.

uh? i know here somebody s designed a 11x10x2.5 cm box with 8 backlitbuttons and 4 encoders with ledrings... and NO smd... now a bit offtopic but can anybody remember me the name of this other one? (of course i am talking about the weird MIDI controller in Uwe s hands) Simone EDIT: one more things, the Tenori-on is a cool little MIDI controller but calling a 16x16 button/led matrix with an advanced fancy software "The instrument of the XXI century" a bit over... A modular hardware/software system that let you build almost any kind of MIDI application is "The instrument of the XXI century", oh well!

That sounds to me more of an unstable track/soldering than a static/grounding issue. Anyway Smashtv s boards are your best bet Simone

this is not a typo, this is a misunderstanding! from what you write i would double check the connection between the first DOUT4 and the second one, just for the sake of it. Simone

Why not asking Bob Yannes?

ah! velocity sensitive.. check the different pads projects at edrum.info but as i said before avoiding crosstalking and calibration can be hell Simone

..usually some salty french fries or a couple of fried eggs should help the mixer with the hang over... seriously you need to check pots and faders for "ohmage" 10K is what you need, linear; usually you don t get those in audio mixers anyway.. as said before, a nice case is always a good find and the transformer could be reused if you post some pictures ... hi welcome, thumbs up, etc etc considering the equation (rather expensive hardware) < (time you spend reading ucapps.de) = true then you ll automagically get all the answer you need plus a bunch of new friends plus a working Midibox as a starting point be aware that so many touch sensitive pads need a properly built design to avoid cross talking and such Good luck Simone

Panels! Panels! Panels!

oh well, this is like asking what i think about the politic situation in the middle east... the amount of freakiness in the diy/repair synth world is too wide to be embraced in this thread and i am not really too much into it.. but i know at least 3 guys here around who knows about synths parts, wave the voodoo chicken and hold on.. sorry but if you are on a hurry, diy is not the right way to go SImone

Hi welcome to this friendly community, we ll be very happy to help you solving your problems and get in a better mood I ve spent 4 months to get some M3 threaded spacers 10mm long, call that frustrating? never give up! in fact i don t understand, what about a link to a picture or something? you may try Alesis spare parts service i remember they stock some mod wheels, have you searched this forum? this has been discussed a few times Good luck Simone

Dear Benjamin We can t decide for you! Usually people build their own MIDI controller cause they want to have their own design. The best advice i can give you is: build a CORE with a DIN and a DOUT, hook up some buttons and leds, then load MB64, MB64E, MBLC, maybe a C skeleton and make your own app, pretty soon you ll figure out what suites best your needs Simone

hi if you are using a computer there are already pad to midi converter, if you are not then i would go for the spectrasymbol touchpads although afaik nobody s came out with code for them Simone

This is a little hack to make it with 50mil ribbon cable, the ony i could buy locally. I got 50 wires cable but you can do it with different ones. Using Wilba s advices, cut 50mm in length Then strip away 5 cables (this will be different if you use a cable with more or less wires) Make a sign 5 mm away from each side and score a little bit in depth (without touching the copper) with a cutter along the line, do the same on both sides Separate it in 3 smaller ribbon cables of 15 wires each Bend along the cut lines on both sides and pull the 5mm of plastic 3 or 4 mm only Put quickly some solder on the exposed copper, at this point it doesn t matter if there is some in excess Pull off the 5mm of plastic tubes Cut every second cable And finally quickly move over each exposed wire to fix the tips/remove exceeding solder (sorry no pictures!)
