  1. !BUMP! (thanks flo)
  2. i would go for capacitive sensor placed under the wheel, 3mm acrylic shouldn t be a problem for the signal Simone
  3. hi just for the sake it, you don t need it since you re going to get new pots, but the deadbandset value can be increased to avoid jittering, the counter side is lower resolution Simone
  4. aaaaaaahhhhhh the CORE, source of all kind of pleasure....

    PIC Burning...

    where do you live?
  6. yes and no, it s not advised but somebody managed to get some result, search the forum, there is plenty of info about this with a multimeter and a desoldered pot, my knoledge about organ <0 anyway i know from guitar midi pedals that often special pots are used, for example pots that are using only 100 degrees of rotation for the whole range, or other weird combinations, this "type j" labelling makes me think about that.. http://www.songwriter.com/bradshaw/pots.php this guy talks about type j pot in steel guitar and they are surely for the pedals... hope it helps EDIT: ok have a look at these ones, they are type j pots (it may be just the quality; like mil specs or the shaft) ebay item 230248054977 EDIT2: welll it s not the shaft for sure, other type j EDIT3: "AB" stands probably for "Allen Bradley"
  7. a bridge on the lcd is better if you are not using a IDC connector
  8. it s called "flip clock" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analog_clock_with_digital_display
  9. I do not want any, wooohoo anyway Simone

    Fan Connections

Would its own bridge rectifier and regulator isolate the fan from the circuit, avoiding noise in the audio? or is it electromagnetically interfering with it?
  11. ..watching in real time probably one of the world most refined DIY built midi controller, how cool is that?
  12. this sounds fantastic for menu scrolling, with button! too big maybe for sparx.
  13. am i missing something? PLEDs have no backlight!
  14. hi do you have a small dremel like tool? it s a goodie to have at home this could be the cause of jittering, or not.Have you tested the pots? if those pots have bad pins i wouldn t be surprised if some of them are not stable "inside" nice to hear, where is this psytrance party? would that be the danish side of the after-fusion? i ll be living in Ringsted, moving to Christiania on the weekends... vi ses EDIT: i don t think that foona misses sodlering skills, i ve noticed that sometime old or "bad pots" have some grease residue on the pins (from the mechanic part) that will make soldering more difficult. It could be that. Video was rather interesting though, i got a couple of tips i didn t know myself.
  15. good boy (i am slowly trying to move my ass out of Tenerife this weekend, i ll be at Roskilde Festivalen and then in DK, Sjaelland all summer long, if you pass by let me know) Simone
  16. [offtopic] do you guys remember that system used for clocks, where plastic sheets would flip on top of each other? that would be awesome for as a visualization system for an synth how is that called in english?
  17. if you think it s not elegant enough just stick it on an acrylic panel and use some colored leds... (people love leds, leds are power!) make them blink !
  18. What about using program change and a a printed A4 paper sheet with the presets?
  19. i am very interested on those buttons, where do they come form? Simone
  20. Thank you for pointing out how much i know about Midiboxes ...... burp!
  21. then i would go with another approach to this project: i see that you yourself are not so sure about what you want.. build a basic MIDIBOX, try the LC, the 64, 64E; start fiddling around with it and you ll have an idea of what is done already and what eventually could be done to fit your needs Simone
  22. [incompetent assuming] Since you connect them to optotransistors and it s a DIY encoded wheel, it is possible that the transistors are "flickering" creating problem with the SRs. Try to use an higher debouncing value and see if anything change, or maybe using caps after the transistors. [/incompetent assuming]
  23. About the MBLC: see the row of encoders (with click button eventually), their state/value is displayed in the lcds and/or ledrings (yes naming coming from the host), bank in step of 1 or 8 channels switching up and down is possible. MANDATORY! your host has to support the Mackie Control (Logic Control) protocol Simone Impossible is a word we tend to forget here at ucapps, afaik there is no translation for the word impossible in the bavarian language
  24. ok so check the MBLC project
  25. hi Benjamin i see you silently lurking in the chat.. are you watching us??? ;) I think i am not the only one asking: Will the company you work for be interested in the future to produce small runs (i assume custom single run will be way too expensive) of front panels, buttons or any other kind of mechanical pieces we may need? Simonej
