I don't know what wavelength the used laser-light has, but assuming that it is below ~125nm, It is not ionizing and therefore not causing cancer. What he does is simply burning his skin. Remember when you were a child and burnt your hand using a magnifying glass and sunlight? that was more dangerous. Of course, what he does is grossly negligent and I wouldn't mind if there would be an accident and it would burn a bigger hole in his hand. But by paying this idiot so much attention, some poeple could have the desire to become as "famous" as he is now and imitate it. It's the same with clothing. One wants to be a bit individualistic, he gets attention, the other copy it... [rolleyes-smiley!]

I love the labeling of the buttons! It looks a bit like some russian cold-war nuclear bomb firing terminal. The only thing missing is a big red button :) I can't read it anyway ;)

www.Bandprojekt27.de.tt Here are two songs of a little bit chaotic DnB (at least I guess it's DnB) Quartett. The songs are of course a bit imperfect (I couldn't really decide which notes to play ;)) , and in the song "Sylvester Stallone" the singer couldn't really decide in which mic to sing (one was hooked up to our 4-channel-Recorder, and the other one was hooked up to the PA ;D ) so it sounds a bit weird. MIDI-to-COM interfaces funktionieren nur selten mit Midibox-Hardware. Von den Midibox MIDI-USB interfaces funktioniert eigentlich nur das GM5 fehlerfrei. Allerdings brauchst du dafür einen speziellen SMD-Chip, der regelmäßig in Sammelbestellungen von der Community gekauft wird. Das wäre also die optimale Lösung wenn du noch etwas warten kannst, und SMD-Löten für Dich kein Problem ist. exakt. Irgendwas, das nen Ton macht. MIDI-SIgnale sind nur "Steuerdaten". d.h. es wird u.A. übermittelt: - Was für eine Note wird angeschlagen? - Wie fest? (Stichwort: Anschlagdynamik, "Velocity") - Wann wird die Taste wieder losgelassen?

Awesome Idea. I've just mailed "my" Laserman :P what it would cost to cut such a "case" for the GM5x5x5. I've even found some nice plexiglass. It's black when you look at it, but it lets the light from the LEDs onthe PCB shine through.

Stimmt! An die Software-Lösung habe ich jetzt garnicht gedacht. aber eine Klaviatur sollte schon sein IMHO. Im Grunde reicht ja ein gebrauchtes 2-4 Oktaven Midikeyboard (ca 50€). Dein PC sollte dann auch einen Midi-Eingang haben. Falls er keinen hat, gibt es für 20€ MIDI-USB-Interfaces. Bitte lass die Finger von diversen Gameport-Midi-Kabeln. Damit gibts oft Probleme. Dann benötigst du evtl. noch nen VST-Host: http://www.delamar.de/free-vst-host/ (Ich weiß nicht, wie gut Du dich mit Musik-Software auskennst. Evtl. hast du ja schon eine Sequencersoftware, dann brauchst du natürlich keinen STandalone VST-Host mehr.) Jetz leg erstmal deinen SEQ zur Seite, und besorg dir eine Klaviatur und/oder ein Synthesizer Modul. Gut für Anfänger ist der Roland SH-201. Den kannst du dann direkt mit deinem Sequenzer steuern. Falls du keine Klaviatur brauchst ist der Waldorf Blofeld IMHO auch recht günstig und klanglich in Ordnung. Ansonsten gibts natürlich auch die DIY Variante, sprich: Midibox SID-Synthesizer oder der MB-OPL3-FM-Synth. Jetzt wo Du die Teile schon hast, würd ich auf keinen Fall nen Rückzieher machen :)

Stell Dir einfach ein Klavier oder ein Schlagzeug vor: Du drückst nur die Tasten bzw schlägst auf die Trommeln. Den Klang selbst macht das Klavier bzw das Schlagzeug. lies Dir mal das durch: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_Instrument_Digital_Interface und lass Dich nicht davon abschrecken wenns manchmal etwas kompliziert klingt ;)
