  1. I can't really speak for Mike, but I know he is a very busy person and sometimes it can take a while for him to answer PM's (esp when you're trying to send him a payment ;) ). Keep badgering and I'm sure he'll be in touch. I can understand why Kartoshka (and maybe others) is frustrated, it must be bad for people to not know if their panels/PCBs are still in existence, and this is all crossed with the feeling of guilt for feeling anxious about it knowing that someone has been injured in nasty way. Sasah, I also understand that you are in quite a helpless/depressing situation, having organised this order and not being able to give people the answers that they are asking. The only thing we can do is hold back and wait. If the guys in hospital there's nothing we can do about it and the more people stress about it, the higher emotions will fly and it'd be bad for people to get in big arguments and fall out over events. We're all upset about this so please try and be patient/tollerent.
  2. Don't think your snything special, I got the flowers with mine too!
  3. Typical hardware geek response "It's a software issue" *whack
  4. I dunno, I've met plenty of "she's" that could not be described as beautiful!
  5. That's a lot of branding! Shame there isn't a distro that wouldn't care about us modifying it for misibox purposes.
  6. Could we not remove the ubuntu logo then?
  7. I thought the idea of linux is that it's open source with the idea that people can modify and use it as they want???? Could we not base this on a different distro (if there's one without the legal restrictions) G

    wood!

Yey, the Geiger counter is saved.
  9. It wouldn't cost much to build yourself a PIC burner, there's details on Ucapps and then you'd have one for any future experimentation.
  10. Where are they hosted? Some hosts don't allow you to show pictures on external sites.
  11. Hi, any chance you could post the schematics for this, I'm sure that there's more than a few that would find it useful. How is it for intereference, does it introduce noise in to the circuit at all?
  12. Do you still need to un-mount CDs before you can eject them?
  13. Just a suggestion here, are the kids of a "soldering age"? You could combine it with their DT class and get them to make the boxes themselves. The chainable idea is good as it means you can always expand to more units later on.
  14. Happy Birthday Midibox!
  15. The Goblinz package?.... I think I missed the Goblins bulk buy!
  16. Can this thread be deleted. By the time I saw the thread it was too late an dit makes me sad ???
  17. I'm probably interested in a couple if the price and postage is right. I've put my name on the list to show an interest but would need to know the price (postage) before I commit. I'd also appreciate some advice on how to wire them up because I'm scared of have respect for mains electricity. G
  18. Jeez, that's the worst thing i've ever heard on here. I really hope that he's OK, keep us posted. G

    YMF289

Would make sense if it's pulled from a laptop.
  20. Oohh, whish I'd known about those workshops a few weeks ago, the kirlaan photography once could be interesting. If you want a decent rock club then I can fully reccomend the K17 club on a Friday night. Drinks are a bit pricey, but I really enjoyed the EBM room. I also went to see the Blue man group at potsdammer platz, again very expensive but an amazing show (80EUR for one of the good seats). If you get the tube to Alexander Plats (where the TV tower is) and do a right from the front of the station (near the tram stop) and then take a left where the busy road is there's a small ticket place that sells tickets for 1/2 price from 2pm onwards for the show on the same day (get there early), not open on a Sunday. Avoid the Matrix club, it's the worst night out i've ever had and the bouncers aren't very friendly (I think they enjoy the power too much) Hope you have fun and keep us all posted on what you are up to. G
  21. Don't worry, you're not missing out! The other one makes bad mainstream music and doesn't have access to a laser-cutter man, that's all you need to know ;)
  22. VMplayer is another option. It does pretty much what ti sounds like... Will allow you to sue a VM but not create one. Tis free as well. Sounds like a good idea, there's instant geek kudos in having a name that most people don't know how to pronounce properly. G
  23. That's quite a good idea. Removeable hard drive drawers/trays are dirt cheap. You could fot a fairly minimal SID in one (may have to do something to accomodate the LCD) and solder everything to the centronics port which they use so that you could slide the whole thing out and slide it in to another "dock" if you wanted to use it stand alone. G
  24. What are you going to use to drive it, can you share the schemes? Is there a problem with noise? G
