  1. Yes, I want some but don't know how many so a deadline would be good!
  2. Hmnn. didn't know that about the blue LEDS. The cylindrical ones do look good a low light levels as they can just look like coloured dots that appear when lit. I'll still see of there's interest in a bulk order and put a link to your post. It may be useful getting them in for other things. G
  3. You could have at least used lego technic(s) ;D Hmnn... Wonder if you could use lego techics as some sort of rudemenary perf board?
  4. 3mm ones looke very flat. When you get them in the panel they just look like coloured dots on the surface. I've got a reply back and there is a minimum order quanitity of 1000 of any colour from the place in China. I think it's worth getting an order of blue ones together as these don't seem to be available at many places. These are clear LEDS; the coloured ones look better when mounted so it's probably worth getting them from rapid (who don't do blue) and there will be no minimum order quantity. I've not got much free time at the moment as i'm going away to a festival tomorrow, I'll get a wiki page up soon. G
  5. I can get hold of Red, High Red, Green, Yellow and Amber (looks very red) 3mm diffused cylindrical LEDS very easily which can be got in any quantity. Prices vary quite a bit depending on quanitity. I have found a place in China that offers 3mm cylindrical waterclear blue LEDs aswell and their website mentions they will deal to individuals so this is a possibility. I shall make enquiries about prices and minimum order quantities/price brakes. This will take a bit more effort but i'm interested in getting some blue ones for myself as the only illuminated fan I could get is blue. :) I'll set up a wiki page when i get a response to my email and see if there is enough interest... There won't be a minimum order for the red/green/yellow/amber diffused ones, but I suspect there may be on the blue ones. G
  6. I think you d have to be ver crazy to sit there and file 100 LEDS flat by hand when it's not much (/any???) cheaper than just buying them. I did 6 the other day with sandpaper (the only thing I had to hand) and they're toucher than you'd think, although its not out of the question. g
  7. LOL, I suspected that a while back, thought it was to crude for here tho.
  8. Another dumb suggestion... Have you tried using a different sound source other than the MB-6582?
  9. LOL.... I've been filing some LEDS for my underlighting... Time consuming! They don't cost that much... I wouldn't really want to filed 100 odd LEDS down.
  10. Yes, I ordered some red 5mm ones for my x0x :D Will look at prices on rapid next week and see if it's worth doing an order, although I don't think it'd save much as LEDS are nice and cheap anyway!
  11. Must be wrong then. I thought it was difficult due to double meanings for words depending on context and how there are exceptions to the norm as to how various words are spelt.
  12. English is supposed to be quite difficult to learn. I'm going to China next year so am trying to pick up a few words/numbers. Apparently over there though a word can sound the same, but mean different things if you say it with a rising pitch, low pitch, etc, etc. I can see me eating some very interesting things in resteraunts at this rate :-\
  13. Has this happened a lot? I haven't even seen that many sale requests for abondoned projects in the year that I've been posting here. Dauwige has been trying to sell his completed MBSEQ for ages. G
  14. Damn... There goes my "unique" MB-6582 ;D Flat top LEDs look very nice. They fit flush witht the case and just look like coloured dots till you power them on. They seem to "contain" the light to the hole as well. I got some red ones for all my indicators and orange ones for my matrix, unfortunately they all look red (should have checked this out before I soldered them :-[ ) so I', swapping the ones in the mod matrix to yellow. Rapid electronics supply these (Go to the 3mm LED section and then select the Knightbright cylindrical link and they are listed there), I'm half thinking about organising a big order for some as I don't think they are available at all electronics suppliers in all countries. G
  15. Just a quick update. I recieved the PI today and will nip into town when I get chance later this week to wire funds across.
  16. He'll be back. As far as I can work out he is a very busy man. It can take him time to respond to emails but I trust he'll get there eventually. If for whatever reason he hasn't got in touch in another week or so then there's nothing to stop somebody else from coordinating things.... Sasha is still working on panels and sorting PCBs out so there's no immediate rush from my end. G
  17. Looking good. Must admit that I did the same. I have my control surface all ready and looking nice, just need to swap the LEDS on the matrix round as they look the same colour as the ones for the rest of it (They're not supposed to be). Can't wait for the base kits to be ready! G
  18. I reckon i'll fry at least one. I like the idea of making midi-box hardware with a built in USB interface.
  19. Well, I need a USB midi interface, and it's about time that I learnt how to solder Surface mount ICs, looks like it's going to be a bit fiddly though. G
  20. Is the project using midi-box modules? It's not just the code that's licensed. Personally I think making money out of midibox is not on, whether it be through selling the kits that you've built or from knowledge that has been freely passed on to you from this site/forum is out of order. TK could be making quite a bit of money from Mdibox, even if he only charged people a few dollars for the use of his code/ideas. He doesn't, so why should anybody else? If you've designed your own modules from scratch, without any help from people here (info, bulk orders, tutorials, etc) then It's your project so do as you wish and sell it.... Or alternatively, you could publish the plans here, get help/advice perfecting it and put it in to the midibox community (Like Seppoman did with the AOUT NG) and help this community grow.
  21. iSn't it Trekker, rather than Trekkie though?
  22. http://www.hackaday.com/2008/05/05/maker-faire-2008-stribe-music-controller/ The stribes just got a mention on Hackaday.
  23. So when are the parts kits going to be ready? ;D Thanks wilba for posting that new thread, It's a bit of an update which lets people know a bit about the situation, although it's all been pretty much covered along this thread. It lets people know that smash is still on the case so hopefully people will stop getting frustrated and nag him... or as you put it, shut up and wait! g
  24. I'm going to go off topic here for a minute... I'm looking at travelling to China next year for a few weeks, have you any problems if I quiz you for none midi-box related information? G
