MIDIbox of the Week (MIDIbox SID made by Kevin)
Goblinz replied to TK.'s topic in MIDIbox of the Week
Just taken another look at this, it looks like Kevin has stolen Darth Vaders MB-SID ;D -
The knobs arrived yesterday afternoon, I will post pictures later for all the knob fetishists! I'll start to get them posted out this week, although it may take a little while to count them all out! Eddie

If you smile sweetly then Wilba may be able to help you out with the PSU socket and switch. It would save butchering a C64 and a great deal of postage as you could just buy the PSU then. G

Hi, I'm still waiting for these to arrive from APBS. I emailed them last week to find out what the holdup is. Hopefully I will know more when I get to work on Monday and check my email. G
-
Sorry, I thought Stryd was already on this one. Let me see what I have spare when I get home, if I have more than a "full set" or grey ones then I should be able to sort you out. G

Wonder if this might work as a case for a MB project
Goblinz replied to frailn's topic in Miscellaneous
Keep hold of it, could come in handy one day! If your ever in the situation where you needed one and had butchered it you'll kick yourself. -
To add to that. There's still the #midibox channel on Efnet.org. My work proxie blocks it so i'm guessing a few people will be in the same boat. I connected last night and think the room was full off just bots. G

It'd be a shame to butcher it if it's in working condition. If you do then you have to keep the meter on it, maybe as some sort of volume meter. G -

Wow, good find. You should keep it as it is and use it as a packed lunch box! -
MIDIbox of the Week (MIDIbox SID made by Kevin)
Goblinz replied to TK.'s topic in MIDIbox of the Week
Looks good. Took me a whie to realise it wasa c64 case. The underlit knos work well, I'm doing the same so will find your blog useful! G -
Nice! I need to get a laser guy! I met someone last week who gave me details for a local company so hopefully I can become his best friend :D What material did you use for the case... polystyrene???? It looks like the stuff we used to use at school for cases (and thinner for the vacuum former), but I've not managed to come across any for sale in this country. G

Goblinz replied to illiac's topic in Fleamarket
Can't you use one of the $11 flat rate airmail packages? that's what most people in the states seem to use to post componants out. G -
i don't know how I missed this untill now.... Your a nutter! In the good sense though!

x0xb0x Bulk parts order Reloaded. (to Digikey, Mouser, etc).
Goblinz replied to TheAncientOne's topic in Miscellaneous
Prof, what's happening with this, is the order still going ahead? I think the USB socket still needs adding to the list. I understand that you get very busy, if you need some help in sorting this all out then let me know. G (Sorry if I sound impatient, I'm wanting to get some projects started while I wait for the MB-6582 kit) -
You should have read the packet! It's like liquid(ish) gaffer tape! http://jbweld.net/products/jbweld.php

If TK's Ok with you selling this then it might be better for you to adertise it here. I'm sure if you list what's in it and give more details/pictures If it's a fair price then somebody would take it off your hands. I don't know if TK shares the same feelings, but I would have thought that it would be best to keep anything midibox away from ebay so that people don't see them and think they could make some easy cash doing the same. Just my thoughts, TK may feel differently. Is this the one you asked about selling last year? The LCD problem sounds weird, have you tried a different display? G

Admittedly I have no experience with mixers, but this definitely sounds like dodgy fader. Chances are that the tracks have got a build up on them, you could try stripping them down and giving them a clean, maybe use some contact cleaner and then resort to replacing them if that doesn't work. G
-
Now there's dedication! Get yourself sorted out before you worry about the PCB's, I think everybody here understands that exploding houses can cause delays!
-
How do you know that Wilba doesn't own the same outfit? ;D
-
I've seen instructions on building something out of old scanners. I think this is for low powered lasers for cutting paper or burning wood (if you're lucky). Am I correct in assuming that for a propper cutter that you would need an oxygen supply as wel as a high powered laser??? G
-
Yes, I've seen the honey oild extractors.... You pack a metal tube with "plant matter" and then spray a can of butane in the top and the oil drips out. He must have been growing a fair bit if he's making oil. The only thing I've ever seen used for extracting alkaloid is naptha (or hexane) which is cheap as it can be collected and re-used. The sterilization thing was a wild guess, i'm not sure what you would use propane for in the growing process of weed. Maybe there was a Crystal-meth lab up there.
-
Alkaloid extraction for weed???? I don't think that's very common. I know it's very easy for something like DMT but does it work with THC? Isn't it more likely that it's being used to sterilise equipment. Gutted about the explosion Nils, I can't read the article, but I hope there's not too much damage. G
-
I'll be wanting some, not sure how many though. I think this needs a new thread.

Did you get the normal or the through panel LEDS? The ones I'm talking about are the normal ones, L-424HDT RED CYLINDRICAL 3MM LED (RC) L-424IDT HI/RED CYLINDRICAL 3MM LED (RC) L-424EDT AMBER CYLINDRICAL 3MM LED (RC) I have some green and yellow ones that I need to test too. I can send you a couple of the amber ones that I'm replacing if you want to check out the diffusion. G
-
Hmnn, I got some diffused flat tops from rapid and I thought they seemed OK.. As mentioned before, the only problem was that he amber and red ones looked the same when lit. I quite like them anyway, maybe you have a keener eye than me. g
