haha. I remember the days when I threw my first home alone parties at my dads place. Probably soon 20 years ago. First thing I had to do was to bring all the glasses and other stuff that could break and lay it out on the bed and lock the door. Then there was music :) My dad had a lousy but very loud PA system that I rigged up when he went away :). But seriously - it is a good idea to teach the kids a healthy respect for musical gear, but at the same time let them use it if they want - the pr...

  10. -you have to connect midi IN of the core to midi OUT of m-audio cable and midi OUT of the core to midi IN of the m-audio cable -run MIOSStudio -select MIDI in and out devices -turn on the core , click on query and verify the core is responding ( as it visualize READY it is working ) -choose an HEX.file to upload ( browse and select the MBsid application you have downloaded in the MIOS download page) -press start if you have all the right connection it must work OK.
  11. Can you post a picture of your setup?May be helpful. You say that you connected USB of your computer to MIDI IN / OUT of the core. Is in between a MIDI interface?
  12. If you have a pre burned PIC you dont need a PIC programmer board. just download MIOSStudio , the latest MIOS application and the MBSID application. you need only a midi interface connected to PC and the core run MIOSStudio then upload the MIOS into the PIC stuffed on your core then upload the SID application. no panic ...we all once were beginners ...just read Antix
  13. What do you mean with "ready come on screen"? " Ready " message come after MIOS uploading if I remember well. Do you uploaded SID application after this step? ( Nils topic 3 ) Regards Antix

    Linear Supply

Thanks Peter, it will fit in the same kind of enclosure used for the other supply I made. ( this FR4 is incredibly glossy and shiny )

The Trafo is cheaper ( and probably uglier ) than the PCB mount incapsulated one but the power is the same.

I found the MB6582 CS board dead easy, it was the main PCB that took time. Especially when I made mistakes, one I spotted and another I didn't notice until MIDI in didn't work :)
