  1. Its just a standard touchscreen panel with a synthmaker or MAX/MSP app right ? The encoders over the screen is a new idea i guess but to be honest i personally wouldnt even say it was a good idea Would make more sense to run the encoders round the outside of the monitor giving yourself more screen real estate or allowing a smaller screen for the dummy plugins The apps and dummy plugins could be done in no time at all in SM see below for a similar project Similar Flexi
  2. Yeah its simply the meter well sort of 4/4 would be called meter 6/8 would be called compound meter Its kind of a divisible thing So if the first cant be divided by the second it is compound Hope that helps anyway Flexi
  3. My take on this is simply a matter of respect I personally don't care about the licence issue because you would have to pry my MBs out of my cold dead hands but i wouldn't ever even think of taking the piss out of TK wishes not just because he is a genuine genius who has given so much for free round here it beggars belief but also because of the respect i have for the guys in this community. If you don't see the community spirit then let me tell you a tale of two days ago I was building a particular design and to be honest i'm not just a newb i am the ultimate gimpazoid bastard when it comes to building stuff even though i'm really enjoying it One of the guys here sat on IRC with me for hours while i soldered the board and walked me through every single step to make sure i had a working system If that isn't community spirit then i dont really know what is and you know what i guess from writing this post i made myself realise i do actually care about the licence hahahahahahaha I dont wanna see someone using these guys designs and making money when the original designers have stepped up and done it for free Besides that not only do they give the designs for free but they actually step to the plate and give support for free too Yes this may seem weird in the modern commercial world but put simply it's great Flex
  4. Send me some and i'll test em hehehehehehe Flex

  8. Probably a completly wrong way to do it but anyway here goes hahhahahaha I usually tin both the pin and the wire then use a croc clip to hold the wire to the pin Then heat the f**k out of it with the iron till they join OK i'll get my coat Flex
  9. Make a really simple SID and then make a controller that just controls it via MIDI Dead simple dead safe Its a little extra cost but does give you the two part design you where after and also the controller could be used for other duties much like a bitstream Flex
  10. Thats slick :D Well impressive Flex

  12. Hmmmm i have decided i am going to try various coatings on these ultra bright blue LEDs just as an experiment to see if i can come up with something that isn't annoying but still has some kind of blue tint I would still like to use Blue illumination to match my Blue LCD but we shall see hehehehehe Cheers

  17. If you have the extra money i would suggest you consider the MB6582 board or kits too You can use that with just two SIDs but it also give you the option to upgrade to more SIDs later as and when you see fit ;) Anyway just wanted to make sure you knew that option is open to you aswell Cheers
  18. I cant help with your other questions im afraid but i can tell you that every parameter inside the MBSID is available either via NRPN or SYSEX Cheers
  19. Wooohooo go for it deep88 :)
  20. I'm pretty certain if you look around here asking this sort of thing is not only frowned upon but also kind of silly I am totally useless at anything to do with electronics but to be honest with the kits you can buy from Smash it isn't really that difficult to be honest It really is just a case of learning to solder and that is just a tiny bit of practice before you start tackling the kits The reality is that if you don't want to learn to do the soldering then really i don't see how you think the Seq is for you This is a DIY community and as such its is erm DIY Now i'm not trying to be rude or obnoixious or anything but really you should give it a try and who knows you may start to enjoy it and believe it or not when it is finished it is a very very proud moment :) (Actually im convinced equipment you build yourself sounds better too hehehehe) Flex
  21. Actually better still would be to look for a Shuttle PSU, They are higher rated than the MINI itx ones and are about the same size They will even run two drives if needed no problem
