  1. Hiya Doug, I don't mind getting the chips elsewhere if it helps take the weight off your shoulders ,family first mate every time. Hope all goes well with your father in laws treatment. Paul
  2. Hiya, I am in the same position myself......I was thinking along the lines of a behringer ..........this one or larger.................btw,what don't you like about the behringer? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/B-Stock-Behringer-XENYX-1622FX-1622-FX-Premium-/170531667399?pt=UK_Mixers&hash=item27b47abdc7#ht_2159wt_1137 also the alesis looks interesting http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Alesis-Multimix-8-USB-2-0-Mixer-Multi-Mix8-/190438093261?pt=UK_Mixers&hash=item2c56feb1cd#h and it seems the guy has some decently priced mackies http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/B-STOCK-Mackie-802-VLZ3-Compact-Mixer-802VLZ3-/190441652136?pt=UK_Mixers&hash=item2c5734ffa8#ht_3156wt_1137 I have bought from the guy before with no problems but I am not in a position to recommend one mixer over another as I am still looking myself. cheers Paul
  3. Hiya, I have an idea for tactiles,I have contacted the acrylic rod suppliers to see if they can cut to length and drill holes....I will let you know of the outcome. The acrylic rod is drilled to a preset depth to fit over the tactile. The 'slot' in the side of the rod lets the button move without the led moving. The silicon bumper stop sits on top of the rod. I have no idea of the height or width until I get a pcb when they come out (hopefully). This is just an idea and any input is welcome (good or bad). cheers Paul
  4. Hiya, After reading the post 'sammich problems' I realized that I am using rc37 instead of rc 34. I have searched my emails, the wiki and the forum but can't find it (rc34). Could someone please point me in the right direction? BTW the sammich works okay with the rc37 download but I would rather have the recommended op system. cheers Paul
  5. Hiya, Thanks for the replies and tip about the 2N2222....I have replaced the bc337 and turned down the backlight a smidge and everything is working great now. I do seem to remember noticing the backlight flicker now and again before the bc337 blew, kinda got me thinking that I could have damaged the little bugger when I soldered it in...maybe. Anyhow....onwards and upwards. cheers Paul
  6. It be diz one..........I just measured it at 14v ac when set on 12v.....could be the problemo? cheers Paul
  7. Hrrrrphhhh......(shuffles feet and looks at floor)......yup the brightness pot was past half way,so that means that either.... A. I missed that bit in the guide or B. I saw that bit and ignored it Anyhow thanks for the input Wilba. cheers Paul
  8. Hiya, My sammich was going great guns and then blue spark, puff of smoke and a dead bc337...its actually split open. Can any of you knowledgeable folks tell me what else I should check? Replacing the transistor is no big deal but I am wondering if anything else could be damaged in that bit of the circuit. any advice appreciated cheers Paul
  9. Hiya, I am fooling around with this in live at the moment and thought it would be a great addition to the seq/blm....unless it's already hidden in there somewhere... http://little-scale.blogspot.com/2009/12/novation-launchpad-ripple-sequencer.html mods,if this is in the wrong place then please move at your discretion. cheers Paul
  10. Classy looking....very nice
  11. want a seq v4 and a blm....gimme gimme gimme

  12. Hiya, The chip is a OPL ymf 718-s,it's a 100 pin smd and NO good for the mbfm...........but still I am enjoying trying to find a data sheet for the chip and it keeps me quiet as the missus says. pssssssssssssstt.....anyone wanna buy a crappy souncard cheap?..lol cheers Paul
  13. Thanks for the heads up Doug. cheers Paul
  14. Hiya, TK,Wilba,Nils and any one else involved in the development of this kit, Just want to say a big thanks for the sammich kit, well thought out and so easy to build I couldn't believe it. cheers Paul
  15. HIya, I couldn't help myself at that price and bought two (soundcards) .........gives me more confidence to experiment knowing I have cheap spares. cheers Paul Just as an after thought...my mbfm sounded 'grungy' too.......it turned out to be the wires from the psu (amigadore/comoga) I just cut a couple of inches off the lead and soldered a new connector on and now it's fine.......except for one channel not working but I know that is due to crap soldering. I have just looked through my receipts box but can't find where I got the four pin socket and plug from....I know it seemed expensive and I wasn't too happy with the quality...but it worked. cheers Paul
  16. Thanks for the encouragement nils,gm5 chip soldered okay but not tested as I need to order a few bits yet. I actually got fed up with the chip moving everytime I breathed/farted/burped/coughed and ended up placing a pinhead size piece of blutack under it to keep it still......loads of flux from the pen and a clean up after with the braid and it looks pro.......ish. cheers Paul
  17. Hiya Nils, Board received today, very nicely done..........................jeez that chip footprint looks tiny in real life Thanks for the bulk order effort. cheers Paul
  18. Hiya, I am interested but awaiting a chck from an insurance claim at the moment....................soooo I am just expressing an interest at the moment. Will you be making a cs for the blm by the way?..................or even better a seq v4 and blm combo? cheers Paul
  19. Hiya Doug, I have sent you a pm order for 4 chips. cheers Paul
