I was going to order a kit from America at a cost of around $500 how does this compare with your costs? Looking good by the way. cheers Paul edit ...I just noticed you are in leeds..................better make sure it's locked up safe at night as I am in Sheffield :)....joking

Hiya, I experienced the same kind of thing with my mbfm build,it turned out I had loaded the wrong type of firmware (I needed to use tks' setting as oposed to the normal firmware). It does sound like exactly the same kind of thing . cheers Paul

Hiya Wilba, I am on the order list for 1 seqv4 pcb and parts kit..............I would like to cancel the pcb order as I bought two from the store and order two parts kits instead. I went to alter the order page but a little voice in my head told me I was gonna screw the order page up..........so for once I listened. cheers Paul

Have you tried adjusting the lcd contrast pot?................................just a shot in the dark

Are you using the lpc expresso software from the guys that make the chip? cheers Paul -
Just my ten bobs worth, I have been on the list quite a while (taximan),while I have been on the list I have made other projects and have been looking at making or buying my own seqv4. Or to put it this way, even if I was to make or buy a seqv4 from elsewhere I would still honour my position on the list..........I see it as a verbal commitment to buy. The important thing as I see it is that no one is poached from tims waiting list as that is unethical. Any how too much shit going on in the world without people in here getting into fights...............kiss and make up for fux sake :) cheers Paul

Excellent track guys.......just the kind of sounds I would like to be producing............eventually,well maybe...perhaps. cheers Paul

I am in total agreement with you, kraftwerk for example make great tunes but there concerts are boring.......just 4 guys pushing buttons. A live band playing real instruments can put expression into things and interact with the audience........much better concerts to attend. Or............are we all just getting old? cheers Paul

Hiya, Can't you take the plug from the broken one and use it with the new custom made psu? Just a thought. cheers Paul

Thanks a lot TK, I will order 1xdout board and 1xdin board plus an encoder from smash later. I think I will be using the kingbright 13mm x 8mm (from rapid) displays as used in the gorf sequencer. cheers Paul

Hiya, Just a couple of questions regarding the bpm encoder and digits for the seqv4l.......... Is a 'standard' encoder as supplied by smashtv okay? What do I need to obtain for the digits?............3x single units or a three in one unit?....common anode/cathode etc etc. Does anyone have the physical size of the bpm display digits?.......I could do with the sizes to cut out my case. Over at ucapps it says 2xdout and 1xdin,is this actually referring to the number of the chips? cheers Paul

Hiya, That is one great tune, congratulations. cheers Paul

Need tips for troubleshooting CS MB6582

Hiya, Just a shot in the dark.......on the lowest three tactile switches, the right ones' diode is supposed to be the opposite way round to all the others...........nearly caught me out when I built mine. I also had issues with the mainboard to csboard connections.....might be worth checking again? cheers Paul -
@TK The dim led problem is not a dim led problem it is a dim builder problem . Because of the way I have mounted the leds the light shines from the side of the led up the acrylic shaft.....like below I am going to alter it so that the tip of the led transmits the light up the shaft and hopefully it will work a lot better (brighter). I am going to change the 5mm rod for 8mm which allows a bigger slot to be machined into the rod for the led. cheers Paul

Firstly, please excuse my ignorance :) Would it be possible to run this under android? The reason I ask is on ebay there are some cheapo touchscreens going for around £80gbp,now I know they are not up to ipad standards but I am having to pull in the reins on my spending a bit. So,can anyone tell me what would need to be done to run this on android or is it a total none starter? cheers................oh yeah, happy new year as well (in a few hours) Paul

Nice track..liked it up on ytube :) cheers Paul

Hi TK, Which resistors should I change to get the green leds brighter? I need to do this as my leds' are coming through a solid piece of acrylic rod i am using as buttons and they (leds) are a little too soft as it is. cheers Paul

Hiya, I have been looking through my stuff and found 2 supplies that work okay with the sammichSID,one is an ac/ac 12volt 1000ma from ebay and the other one is off my rm1x...ac/ac 12v,1.5amp. Only thing I can say about the cheapo power supplies is check the voltage it's giving out before you plug anything in. hope this helps cheers Paul

Hiya, I just buy suitably rated wallwarts and then fit them with screw type jacks (cut the original off and fit the new one with correct polarity and size 2.1/2.5 whatever.) Got my connectors from here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5PCS-5-5x2-1mm-Female-DC-AC-Power-Plug-Connector-Adapter-Survey-CCTV-Camera-/280765164985?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item415ee86db9#ht_2791wt_952 cheers Paul

Hiya, @ kid versus chemical, No worries mate,it's just that I could see you doing what I used to do and getting frustrated for ya :) The number of times I have said 'oh f**k it' and started over again are unbelievable, all due to getting lost in the mayhem of unguided fault finding. Quoting Nils "Hehe, no I am not specifically grumpy with you, just in general".............Nils speaks the truth....lol. cheers Paul

Hiya, Stop trying to fix things here there and everywhere and follow the advice given by nils....................he's a grumpy german (wack) but he is also very smart and will work through this with you.......if you listen to him. Electronic problem solving needs a methodical step by step approach so that you can ring the changes. (no offence to anyone intended.....................honest) cheers Paul

Hiya, Yaaayyyyy just ordered it........should go nice with all the other stuff I am accumulating...I might even make some music one day...lol. cheers Paul

A commercial SID synth that look damn familiar (seen on MESSE)
taximan replied to stuartm's topic in MIDIbox SID
Hiya, This is just off the top of my head (as usual) but when someone from the forum buys a set of pcb's from smash can his user name be forwarded to TK (or who ever) and have the software download page password protected? Without the software the units made by unscrupulous bastards such as those mentioned above are useless .....any one can solder something together and get a case but the real smart stuff is the software. I guess we will be seeing seqv4L and seqv4 clones on ebay before long huh? If this doesn't make sense just ask me to elaborate or rephrase what I have written. cheers Paul -
Hiya, I have 4x 6581 and 2x 8580 sids that I would like to sell to fund other projects, what I need to know is the best way of testing they are 100% okay before selling them. Is there a way/method to test them as being suitable for sale? cheers Paul
