  1. Hi Karl, unfortunately, damaged C64 power bricks are quite common - sometimes, failing voltage regulators even pump excessive voltage through the system, which has not happened to you, as you measured no voltage  There are many alternatives around - from pure switchers (ask moonk), to hybrid switcher-linear solutions (ask orange_hand) to linear-only solutions (look in the end of the mb6582 photo tutorial) - you haz many options! Greets and don´t worry too much! Peter

    Modular mania

Can´t wait to hear it :-)
  3. Great use of the NES! Liking it a lot! That sounds inspiringly classic and it gets really psylike @around 02.00 - cool :flowers: Greets, Peter
  4. Great work! Am really looking forward to play with one of those on my gfs midified piano :) The space below the frontpanel PCB will probably also allow for a battery pack for "mobile" use :) Greets! Peter
  5. Very nice jungle breaks + lead melody = moar morning smile :)
  6. Well coordinated jam + the always nice transistor bassline = morning smile :)
  7. Yes, MIDIO 128 V3 is totally kick-ass - just have a look at the features :)
  8. M00dawg is right - if you buy a ready-made unit, it will be cheaper overall, at least if you calculate your time for learning and construction. On the other hand, it is great fun to build your own controller, and it can be customized to your needs! I´d recommend to buy a LPCXpresso board, a new LPC17 core PCB and parts plus one DINX4 PCB plus parts from SmashTVs shop plus a few buttons (tactile switches) to get going... Here is the assorted documentation of the project you may want to start with: http://ucapps.de/midio128.html You can always expand from that basis, and it will cost less than 100 bucks to get going... Greets, Peter
  9. Woooooow!! Great work! + Happy Burthday!!!
  10. Me really digz it - superb case design! +MB of the week recommendation+ greets, Peter

    MB AY2

    woaah! sxy!
  12. use two cables, so that you can query the core8 in mios studio before uploading (also, mios studio can get feedback should something go utterly wrong while uploading)
  13. Hi Florian, yes, it will run without LEDs. You can test the LCD backlight color by just applying voltage (e.g. with a lab psu) to the backlight power pins (read the datasheet to find out which ones they are, don´t connect anything else). Greets, Peter
  14. Thanks, Paul - sometimes there needs to be a dark track, especially when the days are short and the weather is cold and frosty :brr: :D Greets, Peter
  15. Moonk: Could you A-B it with an orignal PSU, when you´ve completed your MB6582? I´ve still some in stock, if you are ever close to Munich :) I´d be very interested, if these (inexpensive) switchers are really audible, or if they are of such high switching frequency nowadays, that there won´t be any audible noise... Greets! Peter
  16. Hi Lee, cool - don´t worry about that ram based wavetable player - one can nicely precalculate samples and use the normal sd player :) Greets, Peter
  17. Thanks J :-) That crossed arms trick was just for showoff - no unmuting button press necessary at that time :) Greets, Peter

Well, there's always some laughing at the hysterics on 22.12.2012 :) That will be a rootin' tootin' good time. Darn tootin'!

  19. What better day than TKs birthday to create a new MB6582 (ok, and very limited other gear :)) tune? Sequenced live using the ever better MBSEQ features :) Thanks for watching :) Greets, Peter
  20. Hi Xeroox , as TK wrote... you can register yourself on the Wiki and you will get a mail, when Tim is ready. as he also wrote, PCBs are expected to be available at the end of November. Greets, Peter
  21. Yes, maybe implement the option to hold a few very small (looped) samples in memory (those single-cycle waveforms) or other wavetable-ish stuff. Me still haz some code of my old (1994) dos based mod player somewhere (which does sample stretching to obtain the played note pitch - good old amiga times :-)), but then... this would be quite another project... Lee decides :) Edit: on a second thought, SD storage is so big and cheap, one could totally create full note spectrum sample files of "unlimited length" offline, that means, if you have a nice single-cycle waveform, run a script that "renders" a samplebank for the SD player, as it is... not much work to do, and it runs on todays sd card sample player software :) and does not require further ram or processing power. Greets, Peter
  22. Have a happy birthday, TK.!

i wonder why you brought tis thread up anyways, yours was working nicely and is documented on yt (midibox sid v2 basic drum demo?) or did you fill ´er up with murphys draught accidentially ? :)

nao that case color looks mighty fine (not only for psy trance)
  25. Well, as it is now even on synthtopia http://www.synthtopi...-now-available/ this qualifies it for an instant classic, i´d say, it is time to get moar (+1 to the orderlist :)) and quantity sum corrected to 115! Greets, Peter
