TK. Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 Seppoman asked me for a SSM2044 demo, so here it is: -> http://www.ucapps.de/mp3/midibox_sid/mbsidv2_bassline_demo4.mp3This is the first jam session I recorded with Logic8 - not everything is under my control yet (especially the distortions ;))I especially love the part, where the SSM filter is routed through a guitar amp Fx. It starts at 1:39 :)Best Regards, Thorsten. Quote
Smithy Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 Wow, with the ssm filter it sounds so much closer to a real 303, this demo really makes the sid sceam. Quote
Peake Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 ;D ;D ;D ;DEdit: When do we begin calling them complete songs and not demos? Great stuff!! Quote
Wilba Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 I just bought a thousand SSM2044 filter chips... if anyone wants one, send one dollar to Happy Dude, 742 Evergreen Terrace, Springfield. Don't delay. Eternal happiness is just a dollar away.for the humour impaired, that's a joke Quote
bugfight Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 ...if anyone wants one, send one dollar...cool wilba! i'm in for 100.thanks again d00d!! Quote
Peake Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 Ho yes, they're verah nice-ah! Now go a way or I shall taunt you a second time-ah!(Waiting for the board, for my two 2044s.) Quote
madox Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 Damn good demo. I guess when I biuld my SID box, I'll leave some room to contain such a setup. Most impressive. Quote
Kartoshka Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 so my guess it's time to organize bulk order of ssm2044 chips in multiplies by 2.... boards soon as usual 8) Quote
Goblinz Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 what? i don't hear you... ;) I'll be wanting some, not sure how many though. I think this needs a new thread. Quote
madox Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 so my guess it's time to organize bulk order of ssm2044 chips in multiplies by 2.... boards soon as usual 8)Has anyone got a lead on a supplier for SSM2044? These chips go for about $6 ($7 w shipping) on ebay. Not too bad, really, but I guess a bulk order from a larger quantity supplier could be better. Quote
TheAncientOne Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 The guy I did the x0xb0x rare parts from usually has some.Once I'm a little more sorted, (and the broadband now seems to be OK at least), I'll ask. Quote
Sasha Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 Great. We should all upgrade our SIDs with those SSMs. That guy seams to be reliable and fair supplier. Quote
Filch Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 Wow.... sick demo sounds. Is the filter built into yours somehow, or is it external, or what's the dealio? :)**EDIT**Derrrr... I just found your link in the very first post.... lol, helps to click. Quote
H2O Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 WOW! That sounds amazing. I so want one. Or maybe four. But I should probably finish my base MBSID first... :DI'm super inspired by this, thank you so much TK! Quote
Kartoshka Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 The guy I did the x0xb0x rare parts from usually has some.Once I'm a little more sorted, (and the broadband now seems to be OK at least), I'll ask. Please do, Prof... The item is hot!@TK: great composition, i like the screaming and groovy sid lines much!please make it longer, and released in mp3 as full track! ;) Quote
boops Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 hi,very good filter!!!!different of my mss 2000 proformant VCF.....where can i find this pcb and this ssm 2044 to give my aout ng a good friend ;)? cheers...Boop's Quote
seppoman Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 Currently I'm overworking the PCB a bit e.g. to give the capacitors more room. There'll probably be a bulk order for the PCBs "soon". Having seen what happens with bulk orders nowadays, I should probably point out: I am giving no definite date when this will happen, an NOT taking any orders so far and it definitely makes NO sense to post any "I want two" stuff to this thread ;DS Quote
glitched Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Maybe I'm missing something...would one need to buy an AOUT_NG board as well? Quote
seppoman Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Maybe I'm missing something...would one need to buy an AOUT_NG board as well? Not necessarily an AOUT_NG, but of course you need some AOUT to control the filter :). You could also use two (!) AOUT_LCs or the "old" AOUT (but in this case you'll need to add the bipolar option at least onto two of the channels). If you don't have any AOUT yet, the NG is well suited for the purpose and has probably the best price/performance ratio :)S Quote
