Just spent 3+ hours to find out that the reason my new midimerger would not work was because of one of these crystals. Changed it for another (same part number) and it worked! So watch out!

i'm using the 10Mhz crystals from www.voti.nl:  

X-10M

price is 0,86 eurocent, and their really small, so you could fit them under the PIC18F socket if you want..

both maplin & rs crystals are still being a -pita- here :( ..will unearth all four projects soon & try again..

Will let you know of working combinations for me; when the solution presents itself..

..maybe ill just build the pannels & boxes for now, so iv'e got something pretty to look at ;)
