sineSurfer Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 (edited) Hi there, finally I managed to finish my mbSEQ with custom diy wood case included Update: added the back panel layout as pdf by lukas412 request, feel free to use it!mbSEQV4 back panel.pdf Update: added my MBSEQ Illustrator drawing file MBSEQ CASE DRAWING.ai.zip Inside the case: Outside: Not quite done with it though as there's this strange thing the lcds do after a couple of minutes: Both lcds go dim (characters and backlight) in like 1 second intervals, 1 second regular brightness, 1 second dim I'm using a brick psu labeled as 9v, 800mA, maybe not enough power? Wilba Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 Awesome! That little bench for the SD card socket to sit on: EPIC LULZ! Quote
stuartm Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 ¡Qué bonito! Very well done, very nice wooden casing! Quote
Davo Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 (edited) I like the way that SD cards appear to have supplanted the bankstick. Your case looks so good that I'm conflicted about whether or not to go with the aluminum chassis group buy. I have access to all the tools to do something like this. nILS Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 Very nice, sS! And Wilba, it's not a bench, it's a throne  Quote
julienvoirin Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 (edited) very very nice  try to change luminance (50K) trimmer imho for your dim problm have you though to 7805 getting too hot and then not delivering enough power ? Edited August 18, 2010 by julienvoirin Quote
gjvti Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 Nice! Really looks very well made - convincing. Keep on midiboxing! :) Best, gj Quote
Shuriken Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 Very nice indeed. What type of wood did you use? Quote
sineSurfer Posted August 18, 2010 Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 Wilba, nILS: bench/throne closeup: Had to do it like that because the sd card pcb (from sparkfun) comes without mounting holes Davo: If you have the tools and the time go for it, lots of fun! julienvoirin: Just changed the psu to a more reliable one, 9v 1A, everything working fine now it seems! sineSurfer Posted August 18, 2010 Author Report Posted August 18, 2010 Very nice indeed. What type of wood did you use? Nothing fancy: pine + mahogany stain + water based polyurethane for finish Quote
sineSurfer Posted August 19, 2010 Author Report Posted August 19, 2010 For the record: It turns out julienvoirin was right: "have you though to 7805 getting too hot and then not delivering enough power ? " Added a diy heatsink (no way to fit a proper one in the available space) to the 7805 and the lcd problem is gone for good, whee! Quote
julienvoirin Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 julienvoirin was right  Quote
