  1. I had similar (see link below) and it was caused by one of the IC's blown. To troubleshoot I swapped some of them around and I do remember one time a random collection of LED's came on. )
  2. Yeah I know what they do. I'm wondering why they aren't treated the same from the UI point of view. You could remove the Trg and Prm layer buttons and have just a "layer button". Since you can't have more than 16 layers then they'll fit in the selection buttons. You could have trgs on the left 8 buttons and prm's on teh right. Or use duo LED's and have trg's one colour and prm's the other.
  3. Great stuff. I really like the "orthagonal" way of selecting tracks. Goes one more step towards removing the "group" of 4 that just fries my head so much. Why are TrgL and PrmL's treated separately. Surely they are all just layers and no matter how you carve it up, you can only have so many of them.
  4. Found the license under the MIOS32 "Software Architecture" section on ucapps. License: Personal non-commercial use only Personal non-commercial use only
  5. On the coding aspect, what's the license for the SEQv4 code? and does TK accept patches? I never seem to see people submitting any.
  6. @SmithyI have a MidiREX. Happy to answer any questions on it. Or state your looper desires and I'll tell you how well it fits (or doesn't). It's a pretty basic box overall though and maybe only slightly more capable than Hawkeye's LoopA. On your comment on the Midibox. I don't use it as a generic looper all the time. I use it for song composition as well so there's some design tension there between two quite different workflows.
  7. Good job on the modelling. Jog wheel off to one side would be my pick. The gap in the middle could possible be reduced more? The pics do make it look very busy hardware wise, which adds to cost, which brings silicon pads back into my head to simplify the whole shebang. (sorry)
  8. Does anyone else find the F3 button seems to randomly switch back to step mode? I set the recording to Live, do some stuff then at some indeterminate time in teh future the recording mode has changed back to Step meaning I need to go back into Jam and set it back to Live. Bug or userClueError?
  9. Scratch that. Found it. :)
  10. I'd like to request an item for the wishlist to help with Song composition. "Take Over Patterns" copies into current song position, but doesn't do mixer maps or mutes states, and overrides current position. "Save and Take Over Patterns" copies pattern into new song position based on pattern slots, A1, B1, C2 etc. It does to mixer maps and mute states but song's don't logically chain from A1, B1, etc and there's only 16 phrase changes with this one. Neither are great at accelerating song composition. I'd like something inbetween. "Add pattern state to song" - Adds mixer maps and mute states (only if different) then adds a new song position and copies the pattern in. It has nothing to do with the pattern slot shortcuts (A1, B1 etc) but appends to the current song structure. With this feature you could logically create an entire, replayable song, with program changes in one run. Based on my post here.
  11. Once "Save and Take over Patterns" assigns a pattern to a GP button. How are they accessed to switch patterns? Can't find it in the manual.
  12. Great tune. Nice battlestation shot too.
  13. Yay! Mongbox back in action. Jam hot!

  14. Great. The whole shebang happened because I plugged by 7.5v spider PSU which powers about 4 pieces of DIY gear into the SEQ. I'll put in a proper regulator to stop it happening again. Thanks everyone for all the help you've given. You're all full of r0ck and awesome.
  15. Since I don't have any spare lying around I swapped U7 and U8. This resulted in no LED's working and only half the buttons. Fried chips then? I might go order plenty tomorrow.
  16. Hmm, so all the buttons work, both Oled's still light up correctly but I get about 2/3's of the CS led's permanently lit. I've updated the hw cfg file to match the firmware and tried all permutations of 5v/3v/ext/usb/oled's disconnect etc so I'm sure it's not a wavering voltage issue.
  17. My original problem started by plugging 7.5v into the Core board basically frying it. Would the regulator I linked above stop this stupidity damaging it again? I can just see me doing this in a couple of years when I've forgotten more than 5v's breaks SEQ's/
  18. 3.3v works! So that explains how in all my photographs it shows me using 3.3V's before. Awesome stuff, thanks latigidon
  19. With my fingers... haha, no it's at 5v.
  20. Hmf, well that didn't last long. Once everything had heated up a bit after a few reboots it stopped working. Right Oled shows fine, left shows gibberish. If I switch to external 5v power it's worse with gibberish on both. Oddly enough when I load the bootloader they both work fine, switch back to the SEQ application and it's misbehaving time again. Going by the above I think I need one of these regulators? https://www.adafruit.com/products/2164
  21. So I now have new Oled's. These are Vishay's and cost $103 AUD for 2. MUCH cheaper than the Raystars and seemingly identical. https://au.rs-online.com/web/p/oled-displays/8812731/?sra=pstk Now to get them working I did this. Set to 5V Left the J68/80 jumper on the oled's to J68 (default) set lcd_type 0x02 (in bootloader prog) That was it! As soon as I "store" after setting the lcd_ type they came up correct. Now. RS sent me yellow's when on their webbie they have greens. The bags had the green RS part number but the Vishay Yellow part number on them. I thought about returning then gave up as I'm certain they'd send me more yellows and I'd be months without a Seq fighting the system. :)
  22. RS, RS, why art thou so crap? Sent me yellow oled's instead of Green. AArgh! Another week with no SEQ!

  23. Good work. I must admit you've now lost me with this jigsaw puzzle. Having trouble visualising it all. I might break out Blender this week and have a go at 3d modelling it. That Oled above looks totally different to the standard Midas/Raystar/Winstar/Vishay layouts. lcdmodules = 33.5 depth vs 38.5 Edit: Can we use this for the "Play" button? http://xkeys.com/accessories/KnifeSwitch.php
  24. Jaycar, jaycar, why art thou so crap.

Share your pain. What did they do this time?

The didn't have 16way angled pin headers for my new OLEDs even though I got them there last time. Really, I don't understand that shop. Look at Core Electronics, Littlebird, Tronixlabs. They all pump through Adafruit and Sparkfun stuff. Stuff people want. In Jaycar the smallest Pot you can buy is some mechanical panel mount monstrosity my gran would use to crank start her car. Utterly archaic.

It seems like over the years they're ever so slowly morphing into what Dick Smith became:-(
