  1. The drivers for that card are probably not really well written - a lot of MIDI drivers on Windows cause problems with larger chunks of data (e.g. SysEx blocks). Also, it has been mentioned elsewhere that Firewire is not really well suited for MIDI. Explain your problem to M-Audio and ask for a driver update. Or get yourself another MIDI interface right away. Best regards, ilmenator
  2. For AOUT_LC look here. For CEM filters look here. Btw, that's the first hit if you use the search... ::)
  3. Well, hmmh. I wonder why they called it "Live"? No crowd there, not really a show, not really electronic music... am I being hypercritical? ;D
  4. Hehe, nice! (But maybe you should check the autofocus of your camera - some of those pictures are really blurry...) Best regards, ilmenator
  5. Program change messages alone will give you access to only seven relais (0-127 == 7 bit). Best regards, ilmenator
  6. That kind of connector is ok if you never ever want to change the SD card, e.g. if it goes inside the box as a fixed memory extension. It is not so nice anymore (and probably rather error-prone) if you want to exchange the SD card on a regular basis. Though at the moment, I cannot think of any application scenario that would make replacing an SD card necessary - except for backups maybe, but then a file system is a must. dosonchip again... Best regards, ilmenator
  7. Thanks Rio, I really do appreciate your effort! Best regards, ilmenator
  8. Yes, I'd be verrry interested in a schematic (even more than a PCB), too! I still have these chips waiting to be used, and I am sure this is the right stuff to keep me from low-light depression once winter approaches here... ;D Best regards, ilmenator
  9. Now, that sounds more reasonable than what even Reichelt have in their shop - usually they have rather good prices, so I might got confused. And yes, the PCB should be cheaper than what Sparkfun has to offer. As for file-based vs. address-based: a simple conversion/naming scheme might already do the trick. Best regards, ilmenator
  10. Yes, I saw that Sparkfun had the chips for US 13$ (and the complete module for US 45$ - a little steep for my taste). A community bulk buy might actually be a good idea. Assuming that the bankstick memory was replaced in all applications with this module (or the SD would be available as an alternative to the bankstick memory), this could actually create the necessary demand. Let's see how the USB MIDI interface thingy develops and what experiences can be gained from that. The documentation looks as if the necessary hardware was rather easy to implement, and the ridiculous prices for (proper) card connectors should come down considerably for larger quantities. Best regards, ilmenator
  11. (see here) Which probably means that they did not even start with implementing this...? Nice find, though! Best regards, ilmenator
  12. Now look at the pictures again, would you suspect it was self-made when looking at it without knowing? It looks sooo pro... ;D Best regards, ilmenator
  13. Hi, I notice that you did not include the bipolar option into your board design. For the sake of a wider range of possible applications (eg think filters), it would be a good idea to include that. Best regards, ilmenator
  14. So true - but actually, the requirements have changed slightly so that the truth table given above is not current anymore. But the principle of reducing and combining has become clear to me, thanks for taking your time! Best regards, ilmenator
  15. Yes, more info (jpg of layout or Target file) would be fine. I have some 525 - what about the PCB only? Best regards, ilmenator
  16. Hopefully not! I know that designing the SEQ frontpanel will probably take me ages (these things always do with me), and I would like to integrate the Button/Duo-LED matrix. Also, the pads will need some coding. And I notice that the stribes are not quite linear: the LEDs match the touch position quite well in the upper and lower part, but around the middle there is an "offset" of around 2cm. Probably an issue for another thread, once I start working on this. Best regards, ilmenator
  17. Tease ;D Very, very early development stage. The upper part will sport the MB-SEQ. Thanks to moxi for the case! Best regards, ilmenator MV-Stribe.JPG
  18. You could print the FPE design to a HPGL file and convert that to dxf or whatever you need. Google for hpgl convert*. Best regards, ilmenator
  19. OMG :o !! Is this professional equipment??? Who on earth would design a commercial product with cables soldered to the PCB like this? I guess I lost my belief in Waldorf... :( Sad, ilmenator
  20. Yes, but then the picture does not show anymore (at least here I see no picture...). More birds, please ;D Best regards, ilmenator
  21. Did you notice that this is a hand-soldered board? What serial number does the unit have? Is it a very early model, or don't they (Waldorf) expect to sell the Blofeld in quantities?? Best regards, ilmenator
  22. Good to hear that the down-time was caused by the update! 23:00 is a good time to go to bed anyway ;). Best regards, ilmenator
  23. Yes, but same trouble here as before. Sometimes the forum is just unavailable, e.g. last night around 23:00 CET. I'd prefer to have the forum always online over having a chat, honestly, if it was to be chosen between the two. Best regards, ilmenator
  24. The EU regulations say that a money transfer from your account to a foreign account using the IBAN/SWIFT codes must not cost more than a local money transfer within your country. As the latter is usually free of cost (at least in Germany), IBAN/SWIFT is VERY attractive and positive for us Europeans. It's a pia that your Australian bank charges you such ridiculous amounts of money. But I guess it would be the same for bank transfer to an "ordinary" overseas bank account (actually, IBAN/SWIFT is an ordinary bank account - just the ID codes have been internationalized to make the handling of inner-European transfers easier). Best regards, ilmenator
  25. I'd search on eba*. It should not cost you more than US$20 incl. shipping. Best regards, ilmenator
