  1. It should be :) Notice that it's pulled up to 5V by R6: http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_core_v3.pdf Can you post the results from all the troubleshooting tests?
  2. Hmmm, switchmode... how's the noisefloor? :/ Don't you wish *all* PSU chips had their own java schematic generator though? :D
  3. Yummmmmmy. That blue is tasteful as f***!
  4. Can you view PDFs online at other sites? I'm guessing so... If it's not a hassle...could any of you try uninstalling+reinstalling your PDF viewer of choice, to see if it fixes up the mime types in FF?
  5. Nice one. A little minimal for my tastes, but the reading on my glitchometer is juuuust right :) That bassy noise at ~3:55-> is sweet.
  6. Err, that's quirky :/ As a workaround I guess you can right-click... 'Save Link As...' and then open the file? Or is that broken too?
  7. Just pop into the chatroom sometime :) It's a good spot for long chats and experiments...
  8. Even more expensive than eagle :( The only people using it around here are thieves (yes, I'm talkin to you, hypocrite!). I don't know anyone around here using any of the following... Or do you use them all, nilly? (It wouldn't surprise me with teh amount of boards you push out!) Win only, crippleware 'eval' version, and just when I thought crippleware couldn't get worse...... they ask for personal details before you can get it. Win only, and that's not freeware, it's shareware, no matter what the page says - freeware is not time limited to 30 days. Mac only, crippleware. Win only, crippleware... but the full version is cheap. Seeing a pattern? :D There are lots of good reasons I bump kicad so often though... I was just listing the one I use; gEDA is also very well featured and free (as in, really free, not some other crap that calls itself free) and there are a few more that are fully free... I tried them all (and even the ones that are nonfree) fairly extensively before settling on kicad. I used to use protel (now altium) at an old job and love it to bits, and eagle is really nice too... It's like trying to choose your favourite flavour of icecream... Maybe that's why you chose them all, nils? :D
  9. Sure are! That's perrrty :D
  10. Faulty cables are the #1 cause of this issue... I'm sure your cable-making skills are incredible ;) so maybe there's some faulty wire or plugs used? Is this that same cable that we talked about in the chatroom not so long ago? (remember it had been accidentally wired in reverse by the man who originally made it)
  11. Every well worded question contains it's own answer: 'nuff said ;)
  12. His LCD is actually not correctly adjusted for brightness/contrast, see how dark the squares are in the background? That's why they don't look like they do in that CF pic, and why marketing shots don't look like that - if the LCD looked like that when set to 'default' levels, it would not adjust well, you'd be advertising a flawed component... At least CF used a real photo and not shopped text+colour on top of a pic of a powered-off LCD :) (Why do so many places do that >:( )
  13. Don't sweat it bro, I'm just makin' a joke :) No point in my helping you out here, nILS knows what he's doing (in a big way!) so I thought I'd have some fun. Sorry to interrupt :/
  14. I'm really curious about jitter on this (latency timings are given but jitter is not - jitter will be a big issue with clock signals for example) ... look forward to the test results!
  15. Yummy. I was wondering if they were still exclusive on those chips, now I know. Looking forward to that one ;)
  16. You're right :) This works exactly like a normal midi cable would - it just cuts out the optocouplers, because they are not needed when there's no real midi cable in use....So, if you had it wired up in the normal way: GM5 MIDI Out ---> Core MIDI In GM5 MIDI In ---> Core MIDI Out That translates to: GM5 Ox ---> Core MI GM5 Ix ---> Core MO So to use the full terms from the schematics, just solder wires like so: J6:Ox --- J11:MI J6.Ix --- J11:MO Maybe it's a bit less voodoo if you know what the acronyms are: GM5: Ox = Out Ix = In Core: MI = MIDI In MO = MIDI Out Am I helping or making it worse? :D
  17. That's a new one ??? I should ask some questions to troubleshoot this: How do you know it's in use, do you get an error message? What is it? screenshots (for GUI) or copy/paste (for cmd.exe) would be good :) Could it be, that the port is not actually in use, but it's an erroneous error message (Windows does that, a lot), which says the port is in use, because it can't access the port for some other reason? Could it be, that you aren't logged in as an administrator? If so, does it work if you log in as Administrator? I seem to remember that userspace processes (ie, anything that's not a driver) are not allowed access to the parallel port in XP, and you have to add some software to allow it, which one did you choose? What happens if you try to write the port in cmd.exe? You can do this by: Disconnect anything from the port to be safe make a text file called test.txt with some text in it type this at a command line: echo test.txt > lpt What does it say? Hope we can figure this out quickly for you :)
  18. I read this: And was about to post about how NKK are stupid overpriced.... Then I read this: And realised you've already noticed ;)
  19. The later Behringer DDX3216 uses CCs, in a similar fashion.. See section 18.2 of the manual (this one: www.behringerdownload.de/DDX3216/DDX3216_ENG_Rev_B.pdf) Of course you only need one channel of CCs to control up to 128 faders... Personally I'd reserve further channels for other stuff like aux send levels etc...
  20. IIRC, the uno uses the standard USB drivers built into your OS.
  21. See also: The wiki page that says where to get parts, and the forum threads discussing local electronics suppliers :)
  22. I already replied to your original thread http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,13512.msg116141.html#msg116141 Please don't crosspost. Mods, can you merge these please?
