  1. (yes I didn't read all the posts) Every additional vreg adds noise. How about some additional bigger filter caps? All the multi-vreg designs I've seen so far had an additional 10-100uF electrolytic cap per vreg.
  2. [me=nILS Podewski]farts[/me] Smelly music for crusty people. (which happens to be the Title of an LP by "Across The Border", some german folk-punk band. Go listen to that now (if you can find a copy somewhere)) Ha! There's even something on youtube. :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHPjlHYYvog
  3. jeez, like 5 pages of unreads weren't bad enough...
  4. I've never had 5.0V. Never ever. Usually it's in the 4.95V - 5.2V range.
  5. Whee! ;D
  6. Told ya. How about sticking it into a wall power socket and finding out? Or using other AC PSUs to crosscheck?
  7. http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/wilba_albs_waldorf_knob_mega_sale That is a weird sale for sure. When do I get my things?
  8. Can I post two drools in the same thread? If so:

    PSU question

the mA is a max rating. That means your PSU can supply *up to* 600 milli Amperes, while a 500mA supply can only give you 500mA. So as long as your box doesn't need more than 500mA you can use either one. Lower mA ratings tend to lower the price of a PSU though ;)
  10. That's scary. "Okay, it's spinning, that's good. Now let's check if it is really plugged in or just spinning for no reason"? ;D
  11. Must. resist. complaining. about. auto-router...
  12. Beware the mighty guru curse! ;D
  13. Hihi, I tend to accumulate solutions that worked earlier and reuse them :D Sure is easier than coming up with new answers to the same problems every time.
  14. The last minute is deliberately terrible and hence hillarious ;D
  15. What kinda prototyping is that? Prototyping needs loose wires and spaghetti wiring and and and! ;D
  16. Seems rather pointless. "Hey let's open a new topic for every question that's already been asked over and over again. This will give us lots of posts and topics and make this forum look big and really important!" Naaah. Which is totally the case here. Just not in a new thread per arguement. Btw, you didn't open any threads for discussions yet. You only opened "Where can I find..."-threads ;) About the PSU now: I swore I wouldn't help you because you were so lazy before but anyway..... To measure the 9VAC * make sure you set the multimeter to AC * check the 2 AC pins (not one AC pin and GND) * if that doesn't help you find out if there's 9VAC coming from the PSU then check every pair of pins (1+2, 1+3, 1+4, 1+5, 2+3, 2+4, ...) As long as you don't know if there's even any 9VAC coming from thwe PSU any further testing is rather pointless.
  17. Hehe I was just typing "SET" as I noticed - dang - my XP is english :D

  20. To have all the sockets on one pcb ;) Correct. I meant 1x, 2x, 3x and 4x. Whee! Great idea! Will do that some time next week! Cheerio edit: (see attachment) Not exactly what TK suggested, but still a neat idea - the gm5 motherboard has the headers on the solder side and gets piggybacked onto this one (in the top right corner).
  21. [me=nILS Podewski]throws some cake at /tilted/[/me] How'd I miss that... ;D
  22. [me=nILS Podewski]starts singing: [/me] "The optocoupler is the cause, it always is, it always was, replace the opto swift and quick, beat the old one with a stick..."
  23. Whoops, hehe, that was not my intention ;-) Quick teaser of the 5x version:
  24. I get all the stuff I'm supposed to get! Whee!
