  1. Hmm.. And I would trust core /(midibox - would that be "an expendable device/circuit" Smash refers to??) to load PSU enough to stabilize PSU at a proper voltage.. 5.4V would not kill PIC/Logic anyway. Moebius p.s. Smashy also gave a nice tech tip there for those techy types: If you have a device that behaves strangly and it uses load resistors/ Power resistors at PSU - resolder those first.
  2. Well, *presuming* doesn't really get You anywhere. Reading The midi specification for the Live (Traktor) ((whatever)) REALLY helps the setup. I know lot of people want to use Midibox with Live (Traktor), but Why on EARTH they consistently seem to bypass reading the documentation for the software?! Moebius
  3. OR maybe if You have access that PC again: Download vMIDIbox64 from http://miostools.midibox.org/ and use it to configure Your box behaviour to Your needs. Moebius
  4. The .brd file is complete - You just don't have the SkILLz ;) Or You have hit one of the Eagle's "obscurities": GND signal defined so it floodfills and creates a groundplane. You'll have to run "ratsnest" command to create it and make it visible. For exporting: I'd rather use CAM processor and use EPS as the device. You've got Photoshop so this is not a problem as the format goes. (Of Course, there are also PDF printer drivers...) Moebius
  5. Yes - You know math pretty well. Looks ok. Moebius
  6. It's very much about how You like the things. As an Analog synth user I feel having absolute positions in sight is the best way to go. Even after using Korg Polysix with a memory and "snap on" potentiometer positions. Moebius
  7. Hmm.. I'm throwing a wild guess: those are 8051 derivates with higher clock speed and USB as a one additional interface. Or nothing new - as http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp_usb.html shows. Moebius
  8. Yup, Mixing different potentiometer values is ok. Moebius
  9. Good call Twin-X! Keep it that way ;D ;D ;D 8) 8) 8) :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ M
  10. Cheers mate! Good call - This pisses me off too!! M
  11. Hey all, This is a thread for all those stupid oneliners like: Or So - If there is NOTHING to cheer about and Your doctor says those pills are good for You - Please post here with a link to the original topic - if You really don't have anything to say. Please? M
  12. Going to Wiki - and by You! (ask about permanent filehosting) Mix and match with "Tracing unknown LCD PINOUT" or do as You like. Thank You, Moebius
  13. Thank You - I'm always happy to not please. Let me ask You one question: Even with a detailed reply, Do You think you would accomplished this WITHOUT reading the datasheet and looking at the HD44780 command set? Good work - what, did it take a day without proper help from here ;) Moebius the Sunshine
  14. python = Powerful interpretted programming language, used by Google for example http://www.python.org/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Python_programming_language FPGA = Field-Programmable Gate Array, A Chip that has large number of digital gates that can be programmed to perform complex logic tasks - like in this case to emulate digital portion of the SID chip. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fpga M
  15. Well, 10s or 100s ML-303 builders have trusted him, so Why You shouldn't? You could like try contacting him directly and ask nicely about the status of the transaction and maybe for package tracking number, eh? M
  16. Oh, damn.. If it blows You are definitely going to bankrupt! The 7805 is over current and thermal protected anyway, so You might want to try that heatsink ;D Another possibility could be bypassing the regulation for the backlight and it tap directly from the PSU (You'll have to use current limiting resistor there) Moebius
  17. Hi - ADHD was just a shot in the dark. I'm glad You didn't take it badly and were brave enough to tell us. Basicly, we are doing the same in the forum - trying to get people study better in the same time as we try to keep forum nice and comfortable place. This includes trying to calm down over entrusiastic forum members and trying to keep stuff in the scope of the Midibox (with certain exceptions which are clearly in connection to Midibox). Moebius (with all this undiagnosed stuff ;))
  18. Maybe "the Adventures in digital to analog interfacing" should be WIKIfied? Illogik is the man here. HE has learned and is still learning a lot. I respect him a lot for his trouble preventive way of dealing with things, like using time to study - Yup, many external resources, but I guess he's not that helpless to use forum search too? Once I saw a post in this very forum by a man who had tried using digital pots in a circuit that consists many analog effects in one box. It wasn't really encouraging about using digital pots in a high gain circuit like guitar distortion. Maybe it's just because guitar FX input impedance and the gain factor - or maybe not? His name was Captain Hastings. http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=2556.msg16762#msg16762 So, keep on experimenting and Have Fun! like Thorsten says - even if it means hearing databus switching in the audio output! M
  19. Can you identify Yourself from this topic: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=3650.0 Or is there some NEED to post this to multiple places? Are Midibox forum members who need SIDs too stupid to search the eBay by themselves? Or have you been diagnosed with ADHD - because then I could understand! Moebius, bitchin' again
  20. The answer is.......... .......... In the bloody datasheet for hd44780! M
  21. Totally! Like I'm becoming an old fart, so I really believe: Trustworthy Computing will bring down the risks in the computing, like make malware non-existant! Only the Axis of Evil would say it's to eliminate the competition and the last resort approach before actually having <insert company name here> to review its initial design choices and coding practices. M
  22. In the behalf of Smash I can tell: Yes, Your correct. Moebius
  23. It's VERY "retro cool" design. ;D I just hope Soundlab powering the synth side is 1V/Oct and temp. stability modified.. Moebius http://www.musicfromouterspace.com/analogsynth/SOUNDLABMINISYNTH/soundlab.html
  24. Yes, For Various Reasons Smash doesn't make his board layouts publicly available. Moebius
  25. Hi, http://www.avishowtech.com/mbhp/info.html and then click the appropriate module for info. Moebius
