  1. Please keep us informed. I just noticed on the auction that the winner can take as many lots as they want... I wonder how many there are.
  2. Please don't message me to ask about your order just yet. I am not sending out email reponses to say i have received the order and the paypal requests will not be going out for a little while. I will amend the first post to list what orders I have go so far. Eddie
  3. Any ideas when it'll be finished? I need it for a school project! ;) Good work and thanks for all your time on this, I can't wait to see the end result!
  4. I'm sure people here would be gratefull for some construction photos and information. Would go down well in the miscellaneous thread!
  5. I wouldn't complain about having one in my room though ;)
  6. I can't remember who it was but somebody had great results when dying white knobs to a different colour.... Maybe one of the stripes on a white knob could be dyed as a pointer... just a suggestion, it might not actually work. E
  7. Reading will get you everywhere. it means that you will be able to ask the right questions... The right questions always get answers :) As for what to build.... The MB-6582 is especially Sick. looks good, sounds good, smells good too (Ok, I made that one up!). If you're aiming on building one of them then I would suggest building something smaller to start with so you get the hang of how things work. You couldn't go wrong with the minimal setup and the Minimal Control Unit (http://ucapps.de/midibox_sid_manual_hw.html). Once you've done you could always re-use the LCD and a few other parts for use in the MB-6582, or keep them for further experimentation. The CORE module would be good for re-use as it is used in all MB hardware. I can thoroughly reccomend SmashTV's MB-6582 (and other) kits. The quality is amazing. You will still need to sort out you rown control surface parts (encoders, LEDS, switches, etc) but the cost is lower than self source, you get everything in one package and you know that the componants are correct. look out for the front panel thread, somebody is going to be making them (search) and I'm sure there will be a case bulk order before so long. Good luck with everything and please keep us posted as to your progress.
  8. Great Stuff! I'm getting quite excited about these! Who has the bid on them at the moment?

  10. http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/678533-module-vf-display-40x2-5mm-char-cu40025scpb-w6j.html 5V supply voltage. Nixxie tubes would look fun... I think the character ones are expensive though.
  11. i'm also interested in 2. Unless the price goes very high (is in a lot more than LCD's)
  12. Just to add... People are a bit tetchy about the subject of Midiboxes being sold commercially. It's because it's so disheartening. Personally it really pulls on my faith in the human race. Tk is putting his life in to this project and for somebody to rip him off is just disgusting. It's happened before and it upsets us all. I suppose one of the things that stops people selling these things is basic human decency. To get in to building them you have to do your reading and by doing so I guess that a lot of people would gain a great deal of empathy with the group of people that put there time in here (It's not just TK putting his time in to these projects and for troubleshooting). I suppose there would be the matter of interlectual property too ??? Also, as you know, the projects here are software driven... Selling that software on without adheering to the licenseing agreement is pretty much the same as software piracy. Like I said, it's a tetchy subject people selling them on, one of the worst things that could happen in this community, that's why people are a bit funny about discussing it. Experience has shown that some people sometimes just don't get the idea no mater how many times it is explained.
  13. I think I'm going to come up with a name for them, copyright the term and the use and then collect lots of royalties :)
  14. Great, thanks! Still not worked out how to get the beer thing in my profile!
  15. Is that something I need to install or do I just put the settings in to MIRC? Ca you suggest any good SOCKS proxies?
  16. Sorry about the dealy. I started to put a site up for people to order on last week, but suddenly realised that I really don't have a clue about PHP. :-[ I will try and get something together for the end of the day.
  17. No answers from another foum I post on... only thing I can see is that the upper number is the "beat" and the lower number is the "note value"
  18. Where the grass is green and the girls... hang on, where are all the girls?
  19. Wow, mega bump. That thread is nearly 4 years old! The OP hasn't even logged in for over 2 years!
  20. I'm Uk based so postage will be expensive from NZ. I'm only bringing it up in this thread in the hopes that some Uk person will be reading it and take pitty on me. I refuse to get one from ebay as the prices are getting steep and I already have the SID which most people buying them from ebay want. Surely there must be a midiboxer from the Uk with a few spare ones kicking about - It would be good to put use to a machine that's had it's SID pillaged and then been discarded!
  21. Hmnn... So many spare C64's in Australia, but none in the UK. I have the bit that everybody wants (SID chip) and just need the rest ??? Think I'm going to bite the bullett soon and get one from ebay, would much rather be playing on a C64 rather than my speccy,
  22. Old cards are worth money? :o I have a box ful of crap. Anybody want to make an offer on my VESA WinTV card. Does anybody still remember VESA cards? Am I even old enough to remember VESA cards?
  23. Oh, don't waste the blank ones. I don't mine accepting one that's being spoilt with all those nicely soldered components, seeing as the damage has already been done! :D
  24. Wow... That's a very restrained of you S1! People need to be patient with these buld orders. I know how difficult it is from selling the knobs. The people organising them aren't doing it commercially. They have jobs, lives, families and maybe occasionally want to go out to the pub/club on a weekend. Occasionally they may even like to make their own midibox equipment or even make some tunes. With every knob order I have done there are people who cannot follow instructions. They don't provide all the details requested, change their minds 6 times. Decide they don't want an order after I have already ordered the knobs (the reason why all payments must be in), and all this in dispite of spending ages writing out fool-proof instructions to save myself the grief. In short, when somebody arranges a bulk order they are doing you a favour. If that person has stuff going on in their personal life then it's unavoidable, tough shit, especially when they are fronting the money. I'm sure we all have plenty of other projects on the go to be getting on with and there's always plenty of reading up to be done. Yes, these things can take a few months (A lot of us were waiting nearly a year between getting the MB6582 PCBs and getting the kits). So in short... If you don't think a bulk order is going fast enough, don't bitch about it in public, have the respect to approach the organiser individually - There will always be a good reason for the dealy.
  25. I agree. Thought the white looked a bit clinical but it makes it really easy to see the mask and the componants. Although Nils, you've made a mistake. You've accidentally soldered all those components on to my board. I'll let you off though, you'll just have to post it as is... *Whack!*
