  1. As said in this thread I don't get full range volume modulation when modulating volume with EG and LFO even though the depth is set to 127. The CFG->Vol parameter works flu range. Either there is something more I don't understand or there is trouble with the firmware...

If you don't get anything out the VCA, did you set the depth parameter of the EG or LFO? Anyway it seems the output range of modulation of volume if not as it should.

I have made a similar box with PSU, 4xAOUT_NG boards, 4xSSM2044 boards and 2xSSM2154 boards and experience the same problem. I have intended to ask about this too, but you beat me to it. I can change VCA level ful range via level setting in the MB SID, but if I route EG 1 or 2 to level and set it to full depth, I still cannot get full range amplitude modulation. I don't remember if I have tried this with the LFOs.
  4. Ja, dom är faen för grymma!
  5. I don't know about best, but this is an option i guess: http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=northernlightx
  6. Bra med trimpottarna! De är lite svåra att hitta till ett rimligt pris.
  7. I had a similar problem. Check the orientation of the resistor networks on the base pcb. Dots should align. Good luck.
  8. I had the problem a couple of times that the IC sockets are broken. There was no connection between IC and board and after (destroying,) desoldering and replacing the IC socket the error was solved. Measure connection from IC to joint at PCB. This shouldn't happen but it obviously does.
  9. TK: Ah, thanks. That explains it all. I can confirm that the volume setting is propagated even though the response is linear (volume appears very low until settings above 100). I will experiment some with the modulation matrix. I guess it is impossible to get access to the SID chips VCA envelope... Rosch: I am using 1 AOUT_NG per synth engine to control one SSM2044 board and 1/2 SSM2164 board per synth engine. and can confirm that it works.
  10. I bought for my x0xb0x http://uk.farnell.com/amphenol-spectra-strip/135-2607-312/ribbon-cable-3c-12-core-per-m/dp/1301034 £6 per meter... like $10 i guess.
  11. I am trying to get my SSM2164 boards to play with the MB6582 but i'm having some problems. I got it running with SSM2044 filters on channel 1-4 of the AOUT_NG and i have assigned volume out to channel 5 and 6 #define AOUT_INTERFACE_TYPE 3 ... #define DEFAULT_F2A_CUTOFF_L_AOUT 1 #define DEFAULT_F2A_RESONANCE_L_AOUT 2 #define DEFAULT_F2A_CUTOFF_R_AOUT 3 #define DEFAULT_F2A_RESONANCE_R_AOUT 4 ... #define DEFAULT_V2A_VOLUME_L_AOUT 5 #define DEFAULT_V2A_VOLUME_R_AOUT 6 I have allso set all other aout options to 0 to not conflict with the options i want to use. In the ensemble settings ext menu I have set F2A and V2A. When I measure the output at the AOUT_NG channel 5 and 6 I get a constant 10V. The only way I have been able to change that output is to inverse the signal from the ens->ext menu (setting Iv5 or Iv6). Isn't the output supposed to be about 0V then no note is played and 10V when a note is played? There must be some configuration I have missed. Grateful for any help.
  12. Congratulations! This GB seem to have been smooth! What a workload! If someone needs some 9090 rare parts you may contact me, I have some spares.
  13. If I understand you right, you have measured the resistance between two points on the PCB to 8,86K ohms and that is not a short. Most digital multimeters have a short circuit finder setting that beeps if there is a short between the probes. Check if your multimater has that function, it is much easier to use than measuring resistance. With your device, you have used three settings, the first one can measure resistances up to 2000 ohms = 2k ohmns and since the resistance in your circuit is higher, it can't mesure it. With the other two settings, you can mesure up to 20k ohms or 200k ohms respectively so those settings can mesure your resistance correctly. Summary: you're fine.
  14. Cmon... Can anybody with an FM comment on this? Did you make the same observation? If so did you find a way to minimize it? If not, do you have any idea what I did wrong?
  15. I have built it too. Really recommend it!

  17. Hi I am making some noise with my sammichFM. I modulate op4 with op3, both sine and apply a slow attack to op3 with the envelope and I hear some pretty nasty distortion. It sounds like zipper noise. The same happens if I make the attack of op3 faster and modulate it with an LFO with sine shape. Did I do something wrong or is it a common problem I just have to live with? Is there some methods to minimize it? I know FM can cause aliasing if to many operators modulate each outher, but do I also have to keep track of levels to avoid digital overflow (amplitude)? I will upload audio sample soon.
  18. My MBSeq4 is so completed! Ethernet, Case, you name it!

  19. Welcome! Most of the MB6582 is available as a kit at http://mbhp.avishowtech.com/buy.html Look at number 70 and 72. You will need more parts for the control surface though. Look here: http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=wilba_mb_6582 and here: Good luck!
  20. Built my sammichFM. Really nice kit!
