  1. We can clearly see on your pictures that VDD goes to ground(Vs) and VSS to Vd, just follow the red stripe ! In fact, I think all is reversed by pair! You have to unsolder the ribbon on lcd side and solder wire 1(red) to pin 2(Vd), wire 2 to pin 1(Vs), wire 3 to pin 4(RS), wire 4 to (V0)... et ainsi desuite...
  2. Ok this is not the cause of "the new smell" cause you just send a voltage between 0 and Vdd to the RS pin. sending core RS Pin to LCD V0 is worst, hope it's your LCD which smells not your core. Try another LCD and check all wires this time, check also for short circuit between adjacent pin if you've got the time and you're not sure of your ribbon. A bad crimping happens to me recently ;) Yes! Welcome to this new world of sound... and smell lol
  3. What do you want to say ? I don't understand. Did you check the pinout of your LCD first? Model/brand. Please share all information, picture maybe, Core + Ribbon +LCD. When you say "fire starting".. Is it burnt? Really!? You've got another one? Best Bruno
  4. Of course, you already though about it ;) I understand about clearance and availability, that's something I didn't check and I totally believe you. But if you have to do it somewhere else don't be afraid to weak the plate, in this example the plate is very well supported on the side and the 'weaken' part only supports the LCD, if you need to do it in the future check with Adrian but I think it's very solid metal, not bending alu, and this is not a problem. Best Bruno
  5. Andy, For future case production, you can maybe open the metallic plates between the two left mounting hole and use this type of header: Just an idea, cheers! Bruno
  6. I had the same conclusion, I've got regular LCD(not OLED, they are higher(not low profile) this is not possible to use normal IDC, I was obliged to solder wire directly.
  7. Of course everything else is green ;) Maybe better to make some test, lee filters can provide a sampler book for free. You just have to ask them: https://leefilters.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/75181-where-can-i-get-a-swatch And their product are easy to find in any Audiovisual Pro web shop. They are made for studio lighting. You will be able to find the perfect one for your taste, or the most adapted one. Best Bruno
  8. @Carsten If you need blue filter film like that, I've got it somewhere here. I can send to you... Best regards Bruno
  9. Andy, mine is using a 62083...
  10. Well done! Mine really needs OLED screens! #6? Someone? hihi
  11. @nebula Did you find technical docmentation(pinout/protocol)? Best Bruno
  12. This is good to share your opinion or observation. Don't be sorry for that, that's how the community or projects improve. And Andy uses to listen to all observations, if it's doable I'm sure he already wrote that somewhere ;)
  13. Thank you, I made the beat led window on the CNC so I made more than one to do not waste this special acrylic. So I've got some for people who wants it, I can make more if necessary... Peter, I can already send to you what I've got, as you can put it as a gift in the next orders and give one to Andy, TK when you meet them. What do you think? Best Bruno
  14. Hello, This is no. #4! ;) Inside the beast: Note , power/USB connection is not based on Micro-match here cause I used a first version wCore I already own. So this one is little bit customised. The MEC switches: I used 5GTH920+1LS096-15.0 instead of 3FTH9+1S11-16.0. + In this series, without smd led model accept regular 3mm led. The led is easy to install. The 1LS caps is made for that too. Like for the 3FTH9 model, led must be bent like this. Switch has specific position for the led's legs. The Soft Touch knob https://www.thonk.co.uk/shop/sifam-soft-touch-encoder-knobs/ I was obliged to adapt it to flush the surface. Without modification they are 5mm under the surface :/ Then first I made a wood support to be able to mill it precisely. Before milling: After: Result is perfect, at pushed position the knob fits inside the hole of the case. A 5mm diameter led window. For that purpose I used a special cast acrylic for led diffusion https://www.trotec-materials.com/laser-materials/acrylic-sheets/troglass-led.html Surface of the beat led will be plane, colour is homogenized in the entire hole, clear led are usable and placed under. ... The two screens are regular LCD(not OLED) cause I had it in stock, but it's definitively the next update. They are not low profile then ribbon must be soldered directly to the LCDs, no enough room for the connectors. I replaced the IIC Board by a MCAN connector(RJ11) and 2 DIN Sync Outputs. I will not use the expansion board for the moment then I put a blank plate. Voilà! This is my SeqV4+ I got no problem to build this big box, with Peter's tutorial it's a child game. I strongly recommand to follow his tutorial cause there's a lot of tips you have to know and you can't guess! In general this is a very well though and designed project, the case is very precise, if you follow the instruction all will fit perfectly. The final result is beautiful, awesome :) Thanks to Andy, Peter, Adrian and Thorsten for their time, their effort and their passion! Thanks guys for that gift, I love it!!!!!! Best regards Bruno
  15. I'm more worry about finding pinout and protocol informations than availability, for the price this can be stocked.
  16. If it's a unique and personal project, not something you want to distribute, there's no problem :) Best
  17. Yes I was looking for it some years ago(when it appeared on Mac Book) but never found it... Thanks for that I will have a look on it ;) Cool! Best regards
  18. Ohhh! What can it be? Christmas is a little early for me this year ! :)
  19. Super, petite preference pour "Blasted Heart" ;)
  20. Oh sorry forget about, I did not see the 50 ADC requirement. Oups
  21. Hello, Using an STM32F4 CPU is maybe a better way, by adding it on board, did you consider it? USB stack is already existing. MIOS32 is working on it. MIOS32 is not ready for PIC24FJ128 I just added the HID class in MIOS32, not official but it's working. It's HID Host class, but HID Device is possible too. USB MIDI Device is available since the beginning. You might be interested in the dipCoreF4 which is easy to integrate, it's based on a STM32F405RG which is small package and now compatible with MIOS32 which is the operating system we use here(MIDIbox). Your project, if MIOS32 compatible, will surely interest some people here, but the condition is to use our existing tools ;) Have a look on MIOS32, you will love it! Bruno Best regards
  22. I was not clear, maybe my english ;) You're totally right, I said that it does not JUST look like, but IT IS a livid for sure ;) Best, my friend!
  23. it doesn't look like it is for sure! Thank you the mystery is solved
