  1. EDIT: ui ui.... @admins > wrong forum-section: could someone please move this to the BLM-Section... thanks Hi i took some time to calculate the total costs from all parts, inclusive build time, from the last BLM16x16+X Variant. i have done this because someone offered me 300€ for a working - not used- unit (excl Case), and i thougt its a bit too less , so a calculated...: here is what i got, for the whole unit: 16x16+X Cost what from pieces price Forreign EUR 4x4 softbuttons

  7. Just continuing a discussion started in a pic from Sauraen. I asked if he noticed any problems driving that many LEDs, the answer was that everything worked out fine. Psykhaze asked about 74HC541, but this is implemented in the Core to take the load off the MCU driving the SRIO lines. (For better results resistors should be added at the 541 outputs to control the impedance/attenuate reflections.) Also, some degree of PWM control is possible in LED matrices but of course limited by the 1/8 multiplexing. There are LED driver chips as mentioned, but they run over SPI. The beauty of shift reg
  8. Hi folks, Since the BLM talks to the SEQ over MIDI. Would it be possible to build a bespoke BLM just using access to the Midi-map and MIOS codebase? I can't seem to locate the BLM midi protocol anywhere but I presume it must exist somewhere. Are there any other "gotchas" or SEQ unique things that restrict BLM's to the current designs (Latgids, Lemur, Launchpad etc?)

  10. I have a strange issue with my newly built BLM: When I start the SEQV4 and select all 16 steps in the selected Track (G1T1), then switch to the length layer and then to the velocity layer the BLM stalls with the "pattern" showed on the picture. I have to unplug it to fix it. Besides that everything works as supposed. In test mode I can lit all led at once. I have the PICF184685 so I suppose the brown out reset is not the issue and I run the newest firmware (project_with_4_mapped_ains) Before I put everything in the case I want to be sure it's not a hardware bug. Any ideas what my
  11. Hi, The great design of BLM 16x16 by Andrew is certainly too microscopic (smd) for a butcher like me! Andrew help me a lot for debugging some shorts. I made a lot of tests but the BLM doesn't work. the core is Ok , search for a Seq (send each second the same message in Mios Studio) but nothing happens when push on silicon pad (no light and no message in Mios Studio) .the core draw about 34mA (lab power supply) i never plug it to a Seq. i test with the minicore and a classic core with default :project.hex BLM_scalar 1.0a , no issue so i would like to check the SRIO chain SC RC SO with an scope
  12. Hi, I power the Seq v4 with USB , Fine , stable (since a month) i want to permute for a permanent dedicated PSU than USB in the seq case (BLM extension ready) so i've bought a meanwell 5V 3A at reichelt . Meanwell PSU this switching PSU made the Control Surface crash! ( i suspect interaction between supply switching frequency and the frequency of the CS matrix also ripple/noise) i could build filters to sleek the PSU but the config is a bit special. (filter have to be well designed for a certain current, BLM is not constent current, and if the CS crash the BLM will do too! don't like this sen
  13. Hello Midiboxers how are you? Im really excited on this idea but really dont know if possible, want to ask to the masters if this is possible. I think the push layout and features are great and is like 95% compatible with the SeqV4, and also provide a 8x8 BLM plus a extra row, pitch bend stripe and everything probably you now, so IMAGINE to have the Seqv4 completly functional on push + the button matrix with pressure sensitive and aftertouch capabilities  :nuke: :pirate: Ok so my investigation about the push, its usb midi compatible so I guess we could connect it to the discov
  14. Has anybody built a BLM with bidirectional two lead duocolor LEDs, where the two colors can be adressed by reversing the polarity? How would the scan circuit have to be designed in order to work with the standard midibox solutions? Of course, compared with the scalar board, the resistor-transistor arrangement of IC2 could be placed next to IC3 and another 74HC595 next to IC2. But then the scan algorythm would also have to scan each color sequentially. Why am I looking for such a solution? I evaluated the the switch of choice for my Synth project: For my needs, I only
