  1. Parting ways with most of built and to be built DIY audio projects i kept over the years. Life moves on at its own pace, and my DIY audio box seemingly have been left for far too long unattended. Here's the ultra-rare, assembled and never plugged in Dual SSM 2044 VCF & MBHP_AOUT_NG module within plastic enclosure. Project link As you can see, these two uber cool stuffed boards were crafted with special attention to quality, true passion and a highest grade of perfection. These have their own character. Shipping from Canada or US at cost.
  2. Hello, Here, it's all about the NJM2069 and its MIDIbox Module. Here an old topic which is talking about too, I mention it too in the TIA Cartridge topic as a possible option for. First some words about the chip. Some of you already know it. It's present in some KORG products from the 80s, In Analog Hybrid Synths like the DW and EX series, DW-6000, DW-8000, and the Poly800... I've got the smallest one, the EX-800. You can find it too in Some samplers of the same brand, in the DSS-1 for example. The NJM2069 is Music Voicing System, like SSM brand used to say. Very close to the SSM2045, same functions but not the same tech. It's an OTA based LPF but it's not just a filter. It is composed of 4 VCA and 1 VCF Low Pass 4 Poles. 2 VCA are fixed on the VCF inputs named SIG1 and SIG2. 1 is used for the Resonance. The last VCA if fully independent. The VCF part has 3 Inputs: - SIG1 Signal 1 with VCA - SIG2 Signal 2 with VCA - VCF IN is a direct input to the VCF. 2 Outputs: - 2P, 2 poles Output - 4P, 4 poles Output and 5 CV Inputs - SIG1 Level - SIG2 Level - Freq Log - Freq Lin - Resonance The Independent VCA Has is own input and Output and 2 CV inputs, first is linear CV the other is labelled Log in some version and seems to be a bias on another and is finally not usable, i think. Here the function diagram and pinout. I didn't find too much documentation, no datasheet. And some written information on the internet are wrong. For example i read somewhere that the chip is not able to self oscillate! It's wrong! Mine on a bread board do it very well ;) Not too much data then i used the service manual of the Poly-800, DW-8000 and DSS-1 to prototype my board. And after some testing, analyze... Finally design a first PCB version. DDS-1 Service Manual DW-8000 Service Manual Poly-800 Service Manual ... Enough for today, i will continue later ;) ...
  3. Started putting together the external filter for my sid. I am trying out the ssi2144. I have not seen anyone post about using one on here yet. I have the adapter boards for them. All I have to say is that is some super small soldering! I think I have them in good shape though! I reviewed the schematics and it looks like it should work ok. The ssi 2144 has slightly different recommended caps then the SSM2044. I ordered the recommended caps forom the data sheet for the ssm and the ssi I may test both to see if I hear a difference. Will likely go with the recommended caps from the data sheet. There are a few other minor resistance changes on the data sheets too but not sure if they are required I will have to see how it sounds. The adapter are from https://www.amsynthstore.co.uk/SSI2144_to_SSM2044_Adapter_PCB/p1461448_17854795.aspx modular addict sells them too but had been out of stock. https://syntherjack.net/ssi2144-to-ssm2044-vcf-converter/ also has published an file for them as well but I only needed a few of them... for 1.5 I picked up a few extra incase I broke them. If they all work may build another filter for something else. Did I mention that solder pitch is tiny!!! Here are the caps the ones on the left are for the ssm and the ones on the right are for the ssi. C19-C24 10nF, 6.8NF for SSI2144 6 STYROFLEX 10N C25,C26 820pF, 560pF for SSI2144 2 STYROFLEX 820P
  4. There are news again. The second filter board for the DE-GENERATOR is ready. It Is a stereophonic 4-pole Mision filter with the following characteristics: * Lowpass 6dB * Lowpass 12dB * Lowpass 18dB * Lowpass 24dB * Bandpass 12dB * Highpass 12dB * Lowpass + Highpass 12dB Link:
  5. Hi everybody, finally I found the time to start a project on my new LPC17 core. I want to replace my current MIDI router (PIC-based) with the MIDIbox NG application. I have MIDI devices connected to both IN/OUT ports and a computer via USB. All MIDI channels are used and need to be routed/duplicated to different ports. Here's my problem: MIDIbox NG offers only 16 router nodes, but I need at least 32 to route my channels properly. Is it somehow possible to increase the number of nodes? A different solution would be to offer a range of filtered source channels instead of single ones. E.g. could we somehow group these 5 nodes into a single one (without using "All")? ROUTER n= 1 src_port=IN1 src_chn=5 dst_port=OUT2 dst_chn=17 ROUTER n= 2 src_port=IN1 src_chn=6 dst_port=OUT2 dst_chn=17 ROUTER n= 3 src_port=IN1 src_chn=7 dst_port=OUT2 dst_chn=17 ROUTER n= 4 src_port=IN1 src_chn=8 dst_port=OUT2 dst_chn=17 ROUTER n= 5 src_port=IN1 src_chn=9 dst_port=OUT2 dst_chn=17 That would help me a lot.... Best, Sebastian
