Ive produced one 17" panel for demonstration - i will photograph it, and upload the shots, and then see if there is any interest.
As for the mb6582 panels - lexan will always be cheaper, but i, personally, do not like the longevity of stickers. But that is a choice for the buyer - i only do engraing.
I pretty much always have mb6582 panels in stock - the production of them doesn't scale in the same way, so i am able to make them in smaller numbers when people want them.

Edge profiling - 1.5mm
Screen recess - 2.0mm (to match the acrylic screens i was giving away last time)
Stand-off wells - 2.0mm
If there is interest, im sure i could make the rear panels also.

Im guessing i start another thread here, and get people to add their names? I have no idea at all when it comes to wiki pages.
I dont need many to start cutting - just a handfull of orders would be enough to start. Lead time from me is normally pretty minimal, but im wondering if people may want to wait untill the cases are in production?
At present, i guess i should ask if anyone wants the green on black panel i made for the demo? Or maybee thats a job for the 'flea market' section?

Are these sized for the aluminium desktop chassis?
Exactly.
The 19" ones i was doing before were for standard rack mount cases, but these 17" ones are for the desktop units.
You can see silver lines along the top and bottom edges in the photos - this is where these edges of the panel have been profiled into a sort of step shape, as to fit within the extruded alluminium that the desktop chassis are to be made from.
(the 19" panels dont have this profiling - just a standard cut along the edge)

I have just ordered in some different colour finishes for the 2.0mm low(er) cost panels.
Below are some 19" units in the same low-cost style -

Anyhow, if anyone is interested, this design could also be used in the desktop case, and would represent a decent saving over the 3.0mm panels.
When the metal turns up, ill cut some demo panels, and post them up here to see if there is any interest.
Thanks,
Julian

Definately interested, especially the blue front panel looks quite good. But maybe we should wait for the desktop case bulk order to be finished?
Has a fitting PCB with the frontpanel stuff been made yet? (It's hard to keep yourself up-to-date if you don't have the time to look at the forum frequently)
Which push button types does this one use?

This is for Wilba's PCB that uses the more or less standard TL1100F160Q switch
Thanks.
For documentation purposes I'll link to the Wilba thread: http://midibox.org/f...-matching-case/
Wiki: http://www.midibox.o...pcb_bulk_order?
I'm already in the PCB bulk order list and subscribed to the thread,
Just another question: Will you also make matching back panels? I'd like to have blue front and back panels.
Are the 2 mm panels solid enough?

Yes. Im just waiting on the case group buy to check all the details, but the intention is to produce the rear panels also. Cost of rear panels TBC.
Are the 2 mm panels solid enough?
They will be more than strong enough for the desktop enclosure. You will be supporting virtually no weight / force from them, and they will be supported themselves by the enclosure on both the top and lower edge. There is no doubt at all that they are quite adequate for the application.

So these panels will fit the case from the bulk order right? Just want to double check. Thanks!

First - due to the issues with the case group buy's im obviously not making 100s of these in preparation just yet, and...
Second - we are in the process of moving location, so there will be some points where my lead times are not as swift as they usually are (normally i aim to ship the same week the order comes in, even on custom 1-off jobs)
What may be best is if i wait to see how the case issues pan out, and then make up some smaller batches and see how they go.
At present (as i type this) i do have a few mbseq panels in 19" 2.0mm format. I will have to check, but i think i have matt red, and gloss blue / gloss black in stock for immediate shipping.
Thanks, Julian

I am also interested in ordering a pair of panels (matching the case bulk order in the other thread). Just for the record ;)
